Function over aesthetic should be one of the mindset of everyone
I’m currently set on saving while studying to move out when I’m ready. I have my budget planned and such and this video helped a lot. Especially the part about celebrating moving out as a filipino. I relate to that so much. Whenever I talk to friends about such topics, it’s always the same story. It’s always about how in certain aspects of our culture, living with our family is what’s considered to be the best choice especially considering the finances. Unless you’re getting married, you have no reason to move out. I had a talk with my parents about moving out and chasing my dreams. We never really saw eye to eye on that matter and the discussion got out of hand to the point where she crushed my spirit. It was almost traumatic. Making a decision for your life to follow your dreams and not receiving the much needed support from your parents; even downright being the cause of your self doubt is honestly not an experience that I was ready for. And even so, I’m taking actions. Slowly but surely I will achieve my goals. If any one else is reading this and is going through something similar. I’m here for you stranger.

I badly want to move out!😭 I just don't have enough confidence to apply for job🥺 Yun lang yung problem ko, coz I need some source of income ofcourse to afford living alone. Pero hays, since I'm only child, super tahimik ko at mahiyain in real world. That's really a hindrance for me on moving out po😢
ikaw na mismo nagsabi nung iba mo pang problems. I’m 99.98% sure that moving wouldn’t solve any of that. Try mo muna i-asses sarili mo in your current circumstance before going straight to moving out.

As early as 17, I was already sent to Cebu to study so that is a boat away from our province. Now that I'm 27, I live alone at lahat akin na including the rent, food, transpo. I live in a tiny space, but very functional since it is all I need. It is a one jeepney ride away from my workplace which is really good plus reasonable na ang presyo. I can cook, but I don't cook and buy at carenderia instead. It saves me more kasi sa 50 pesos, busog na ako isang meal. Ngayon, I am building my emergency fund, but the bad part is sometimes nagiging dependent yung parents ko sakin, asking for money so it sucks.

Yow pre salamat ah, ang laking tulong ng videos mo. 21 years old na ko, fresh graduate and gusto ko na mag move out sa bahay and live independently. Yes, ang hirap magpaalam sa parents lalo na breadwinner ako and napakaconservative ng Filipino parents. I'm planning to move out this Sept and nagpeprepare na ko para magpaalam sa parents ko. Thanks for sharing this Aqi, it really clears my mind na. I can't wait to move out na, I'm so tired being a return of investment of my family. I always told them to find a job and help me when it comes to expenses and bills etc. But even I tried to convince them for almost 8 years, ayaw talaga nila. I wish I can move out this year and I guess its time to focus on myself na din.
Duuude, I just subscribed, I binge watched your vids while looking for some motivation since I’m also considering of living alone next month. Glad to know there’s a fellow artist out there who has the same mindset as me. Looking forward for more great topics like this, everything is pretty much on point, I had to consider a lot of things before coming into a conclusion, biggest factor for me is how toxic my family has become and it’s kinda affecting me in a lot of ways, specially my creative process.

Thank you sa vid na to’! Plan ko nadin magmove out sa sarili kong apartment by the end of this year. Nakikitira lang kasi ako sa ngayon pero solo ko yung house. Only child lang ako at medyo naspoiled 😅 kaya goal ko talaga yung maging financially independent ako from parents and relatives. Ang hirap din iexplain sa mga parents yung ganeto haha di lang pala ako nagiisa!

Which is better, look for a bare unit or a fully furnished one?
Depends on your needs ako personally go for bare units because I see appliances and furnitures as investments and i pag nag fully ka kasi tendency is the price goes up accordingly so basically binabayarin mo rin yung furniture and appliances nila and pag nasira sayo rin yung cost. Again depends on your needs kung mga 6 months to a year lang naman i think furnished or semi furnished can work pero if more than 2 years i recommend going for bare tapos ikaw na lang bumili ng furniture mo. hope that helps pre!
