    "Its dammed difficult" - I would agree having tried it back in the late 1990's when working at Brown Brothers in Edinburgh. What you have achieved is truly remarkable, you have shown the art of the possible and inspired a new generation. Thank you.

    Magnificent! Just like Musk did with Tesla, you've made the first successful electric hydrofoil pleasure boat company! That's succeeding with both technologies in one elegant product.

    Finally I understand, so a hydrofoil boat is basically a boat on top of a plane but in water. Why can't people just say that?

    What if you try to put a sort of small wings like the foile but on the side of the boat that can be rotated to adjust the stability of the boat?Pratically you did it by the front foil underwater but I think can be possible through the air too having also a hydrofoil but adding the small airfoil

    Here it seems you fly at ~30cm above the surface. Your boat is thus designed for lake applications or still surfaces, how do you do on standard waves higher than 30cm? Can you go on the mediterean see for example ?

    I know it goes against the spirit of the full electric but having a diesel electric generator to extend the range would make this very practical (and cheap to run) for longer 100-200NM runs

    the way to improve stability is also to move some of the batteries in the foil. Then scale up the hull to be more aero dynamic and act as a wing also reducing the side profile. It is great to see you are pushing for newer designs but electric propulsion is all about efficiency. So you need to get your basics right both engine size/weight/thrust with minimal battery optimize the hull for that weight config. and start reducing water/air drag once you get down the priorities down you can start up scaling battery/boat sizes. It is not difficult just no one have done it before.

      ​@willm5814 they're promoting electric propulsion, but there is a lot more room for expansion.
      Achieving stability through sensors is one way to do it but there is nothing stopping them from Achieving natural stability either

    I wonder if the drag could be reduced even more with steel foils under water. That way they could be made even slimmer for the same strength and less drag. But it depends if the lower drag makes up for the higher weight?

      No, as then it would be require a lot of force to twist.

      What is the reason you chose the twisting of foils instead of flaps like an airplane?

    You take new technology with traditional boat design in mind. Why not puting a huge solar array on the roof to make it 100% autonomous like silent yachts does? They miss the hydrofoil and you miss the solar array.
    Make a ocean ready version of the P12 and a configuration where people can live on it and hop from one place to another at blazing speeds.

    Would be interesting to see it with a small turbo diesel. Sounds like a 100L fuel tank would give a ridiculous range

    Brilliant- all you need to know is that it only takes 1 kwh per nautical mile….but the other benefits are huge too …no stinky gas fumes, way less noise, much smoother ride, no cancer-causing exhaust……

    Purely out of interest, 20 years ago I drove in Hong Kong with a large bot with such a system but of course without electricity ... so the innovation in your bot lies in the material how it is built plus the electronics and this special drive:?
