Why is it controversial? Serious question as I don’t have a crawler and have been considering it. Saw this one and really like it as I have other large scale models.
Because of its size, nothing precedes it so there's little parts for it compared to 1/10 and much fewer places to take it. On top of that you are paying 1100 for a crawler with nothing special on offer besides it's size

But let’s face it, the way it performed in your video alone showed it is more than capable of anything you throw at it.

Marmite is a definite likeness, seems to have split the hobby with its release but I’m coming around to it!
Maybe too big for existing purpose built crawler tracks, but looks like it handled the natural obstacles well. Would love to play with one of these in the western US.

10th scale is king no doubt but I do like the scx6 it’s a welcomed addition to my collection it’s weight gives a reall life like experience 👍

Decent spots make all the difference with large scale rcs IMHO.
I won't even bother taking out my Sbr2 down the road or local park, as it's like a duck out of water. Luckily I've found a couple of big offroad places in my county where it's in its element and can really rip n shine.
You’ve definitely got to pick your spots better with a truck like this👍🏼

Breakheart quarry 👀 was there the wknd before last destroyed the rear diff and hr after fixing that the motor on my Wraith 🤦🏼♂️ if I knew you were visiting I would of popped over got the tennis balls out and run a few rigs with you chaps 😁 let a brother know next time 😉 great vid Breakheart is an awesome location for Crawling the SCX6 looks right at home 😎

What little cameras are you using and where did you find the driver? I'm really liking the low camera angle.
Driver comes with the car, camera is the insta go 2 they have since released a revision of this cam

I wasn't convinced about this truck - till i had a go - ON THIS VERY TRUCK ( so i feel my comment is very valid lol) - i've got to agree with Jay on this one - I actually loved it straight away even though it was only in one location. I still feel if you had 2 or more they would really come into their own in regards to group fun. So the real elephant in the room (for me now i've actually driven one) is - THE PRICE. Obvs its massive rah de rah but the real rub is how many of your buddie will follow suit and get one too ? I can see you being the only kid in the playground with maybe one of the most badass toys but who is gonna really play with you on the same level.....all being said - I really did enjoy driving this rig and it surprised me how well it performed .....it just needs the hopup market to appear( which i hope it does) and mainstream attention which it i'm doubting it will never get at this price point for the average joe. Still.....I did enjoy driving it ....very smooth n far more responsive for a behemoth of a crawler - its got the power n stable throttle n everything u want in a decent crawler - for me ...its too damn pricey not big - hmmmmmmmmmm.......just hmmmmmmmmm
Couldn’t agree more. Definitely undid themselves with the price point, and I do feel it would be so much more successful if it wasn’t so steep, I mean it kind of makes you dislike it for that reason alone😂

I think for the activity its meant for, its too large and expensive. Ive taken unreliable rigs down 4 mile trail loops knowing that if it breaks i can swap it for the other 10th scale ive got on my back and spares in my pack and yeah its a bit uncomfortable, but doable if you wanna ensure 100% run time. Taking something like this down a trail that long is really all you'd wanna do with it, but if it breaks...when it breaks....
Well said, interchangeability is not something going in it’s favour… that being said there are a fair amount of upgrades now so we could see the 6th scale taking off…👀🤷🏻♂️

F no never to big ! Always wanted Axial to make a big straight axle crawler! I LOVE MINE ! 1/10TH Scale is to small !! In my own opinion, can't wait for some awesome upgrades!!
Tenth scale is the perfect size imo, the 6 has a special place on this channel though! Friday, another video of it drops😏👊🏼

Great video. I'm tempted to get a SCX6 Honcho. I go to this Quarry regularly. How did you find the terrain with a 6th scale crawler? Some of the rock climbs there are impossible with my 10th scale rigs just wondering how a 6th scale performed?
We thought it would be too big and clunky for the majority of the quarry. If you don't expect it to drive like a 10 scale it was incredible to watch, handled the terrain it's own way. Well worthwhile
@@RCunexttuesday Great thanks for the reply. I will probably get one it's expensive but at least it comes with some fairly decent electronics. It only really needs a servo swap and for a RTR that's good. 👍
It's worth the money. I was categorically against it, but we've taken ours up the three peaks🤯

Let me first say to each their own. For me on the other hand. I just can't get behind that RC. I keep watching it to see if it might turn me, but I just don't think it's worth the money. You seem to like yours, so that's great. Have fun with it. Cheers!

I'm in Indiana. I have found the creeks and river beds to be the best so far. Alot of farmland here so maybe at badlands it will really shine

That’s the trouble, this wasn’t the official first run for it. But it was the first time we enjoyed it because it just wasn’t suited to the other spots… got to be careful where you take it!

Will prob do th recomended updates(shock towers etc etc)Wheels with a smaller offset so it will have a wider stance and run a seperate battery for th lights..
