I cut every other knobby on the tire off with lexan scissors and put proline dual stage 2.9 foam inserts. OMG, what a difference. The side-hilling is so much better with the stiffer sidewalls and the grip is insane when you remove every other knob on the falcon peak tires. They will pull you over anything once modified.
What kind of run times can a guy expect with a good battery with one these rigs?
@@rt66rc86 So far, whether running 3S parralel or single 4s (2 pacs on board) I have gotten a couple hours of run time doing mostly technical low gear crawling.
@@ctorfrank Thank you for the reply! Much appreciated!
Thanks for making a crawling scx6 video instead of doing donuts in the woods. Always enjoy your videos.
I have the stock electronics with the addition of a slightly better steering servo and 10Amp BEC. The greatest help for me was aftermarket wheels as you need a lot of weight down as low as you can get it. Not perfect being rotating weight...but much better than stock wheels. I have the Falken tires, Hyrax and Superswampers. The Falken and Superswampers have Steady foams, the Hyrax has 3BRC anti-foams. All three tires perform equally on my carpeted incline table. That said, the Superswampers outclimbed both other tires on the granite and quartz in my area. I love this truck and would also recommend aluminum c-hubs and bearing carriers up front as well as aluminum shock towers. This will remove all steering flex. I also have the Vitavon overdrive in the front diff and that has really helped as well. Thanks for the great content....I learn something new in every video. Before I forget, neither the stock foams nor the proline foams included with the Hyrax and SuperSwampers are adequate for climbing. Steady Foams or 3BRC are excellent choices.
Good lord I want one.. but the Scx6 jlu might be what I save up for... keep up the good work and keep putting out the content YOU like, as a fan of the channel and RC, it's much appreciated.
I really like the Axial 6! Can’t wait for the forest run!
no more 1/10 scale on me . what a beast this truck is!
These are really top heavy. Put metal axles and wheels on mine and it’s helped a ton. Also, removed the steel links and added aluminum. Cuts a bunch of weight off those links are super heavy . And you have to get different foams. 3BRC Anti foams are the only way to go
Awesome I can’t wait to get one
Same.
I love my scx6 the 3bros 3D printed foams and different tires and a nsdrc 2500 v2 servo really wake this truck up
The hobbywing axe r2 3300kv system is no joke. I love mine
should run it on 4s, been running my jeep6 since they came out on 4s 8600mah 120c batteries, almost 2 hours of runtime on a single battery even with a direct power servo
Really i like it. So big and performing! Ciao, Nanni
Large and in charge
I'm in the Peninsula Bay Area. I'm looking for a place to run my rock crawlers. Any suggestions?
I wonder if putting a scx24 on this rig would count as scale points? 🤔
I posted on your other video but never got an answer, can you please confirm length?
I was told 770mm from my LHS but Axial states 852mm which is deceiving.
Great video man appreciate it. I have a question. What are the drag brake sittings your using?
Anti foams are game changer
Thing about these beasts is they go over stuff easily with weight and quality of motor!
But for like the straight up steeps not as good.
The 2 speed is nice. It is so different than 1/10
Gspeeed has a chassis for it. But hiking is def it’s sweet spot stock!! The weight makes it very predictable!
The real question is can the SCX24 take a 1/10 scale course.
Fully loaded - yes
does it eat up battery life pretty fast? how about compared to a 1/10?
A friend of mine runs a spektrum 5000 mAh 3s 50c battery in his scx6 and gets anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour in low gear. High gear all the time, about 30 minutes.
@Jon Laird pretty good. Thx for the reply ! I really want to buy a Honcho.
@A H I was pretty surprised myself to see that long of a runtime on this size and weight of this truck. I'm hoping to get 1 soon but I know once I get 1,the wife is gonna want 1 also, lol.
@@jonlaird5082 double the adventure !
@@axellness the real reason he wants to get 1 for his wife is so he can put 1 on each foot and use them as powered roller skates.
nice truck but a little bit ridsiculous with that size
Who has the 6x6 Apocalypse Hellfire version
i like dubstep
Yeah, the dubstep snuck in there.
Axial has failed to provide option rtr bodies 6 scale
It’s not axials job to provide you with a bunch of bodies. He scx6 is just over a year old. Calm down.
New hobby to me.. my very first every RC is the SCX6 Jeep. Here's what I learned... people have preferred taste and trails.. yet everyone seems to have the original copy of the bible.. many if not all, are focused on upgrading things that really don't.. and really shouldn't matter. People will tell you to upgrade this and that so they can benefit from YOUR results (in case you fry you rig). I was really hoping to find some happy people in this hobby... but really, it's a bunch of unsatisfied wits.. My bottom line is this, I have the SCX6 Jeep.. and I'll run any "line", or "sidewall", or whatever namegremlin crap you have; thing is, YOU won't give me credit cause I'm running "stock". The stock servo is rated at 50Kg.. it's more than enough to do what you want it to do. BUT.. oh NOOOOOO... many unhappy people will tell you to upgrade your stock steering servo... to WHAT??? WHY??? What in the hell are you trying to get me to do.. I'm just turning some 7 inch wheels BRUH!! and I can kick your butt on technical rock climbing!! I know how to use the rig.. and I'd never allow a rock to use me!!
I think you some unfortunate rc people in your area. Stay away from them as they will poison your rc time and affect your mindset.
Upgrades are good for some situations but not all. Do your thing and be a beacon of rc positivity and the right folks will be drawn to you.
I'd have one if they were under 1000
Wow.. $1,100.00??
That's actually cheap when you consider how much it costs to buy the esc and can by themselves.
@@DankePlace lol $1,100.00 for an RC car is not cheap...lol I paired $1,500.00 for an actual Chevy 4x4...
@@josephlawrence6873 well it is cheap when you consider how much musical instruments cost, like synths (I have many and am familiar with $)
Do the hopups for this and you almost treble the cost.
A GPU can cost 50% more of the asking of the Honcho, yet people use it for gaming, to escape.
So ask yourself how much you're willing to spend to have fun?
I know I have spent this sort of money on alcohol in a month and have nothing to show for it, so it's all about perspective I guess.
put portals on it :P
Doesnt needs them. It actually could use a lower-profile tire. Plenty of clearance over the pumpkins.
I thought the same but with this size truck and it's high cog,it'll be constantly tipping over, lol.
@@jonlaird5082 if you sit on it whilst driving it, it shouldn't tip over, if it does, you could die.
Ahhhh dubstep. I would much rather listen to a whiny servo
The Honcho looks like it’s a brighter red then my Honcho is? Camera related or is it a new painted body? Looks good that’s why I ask…
