You do a great job and I appreciate your help and time spent explaining the details. Keep up the good work.
Wow, I would bet money that your a teacher! If not, you missed your calling. Great video. You are such a great help and inspiration to our community. God bless you with more speed parts.😂 Be safe as you Go Fast! God Speed
Great video but you don't have to close out of universal patcher to get to PCM hammer. just click utilities then click read/ write pcm and it will open PCM hammer. Also a side note LS droid has stock bin files on tap, you can search by engine, transmission, vehicle, year, PCM, and OS.
Thanks for these great tips!! Originally I learned all these steps on my other PC which had Win10. Opening PCM Hammer, from inside U.Patcher would sometimes give me an error when connecting. Out of habit I stopped clicking it.
Yep exactly the same on the programming side. You will need to depin the harness at the trans (its only like 3 wires that need to be moved). Go to LT1Swap to find the 60e to 80e to get an idea on what should be where, and reverse what they did . Dont forget the 60e flexplate.
Im not sure if it changes much, even if it does you can do this same swap with a Chevy Express van bin file (since they only came in 2wd). So instead of searching for a 4l80e express van, look for 4L60e van or Camaro.
Great video thanks. One question, I get "segment number doesn't match (4:=224) in the lower left box. I have tried different files same result. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
@@albigfeet6254 can you list your OS for me? Ive tried replicating this issue and only error I got was when using P01 segment to p59. I will see can I find your OS on HP Tuners W/80e, convert it to BIN and host it for you somewhere.
@@2muchspl Actually I am going 4l80e to 4l60e. I don't think I can fit a 4l80e in the trans tunnel. Where do I find OS? Sorry new to computer controls.

@@randalblack518 unfortunately the E38 platty isn't supported with PCM Hammer (the flashing program). For flashing ,from what Ive read, you will use PowerPCM_Flasher and then Universal Patcher to modify the bin like I did. To save some headache , scour here ( shorturl.at/tFvEx )to see if there are any E38 bins that someone may have done this to already. Segment swap their trans section or switch it to non electronic. Im just not well versed in E38 as my gen 4 vehicle is my daily lol.

This made my absolute day!!!! I really appreciate comments like this!!
Thats the best instructional video I have seen
👍
Thanks so much, I really enjoy making these videos.

You hit this out the ball park ! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks I really enjoy these type of videos!!
Nice job this helped thank you. On a side note segment swap will not show up under utilities if you don't have it set to advanced under file->mode
Thank you because I couldn’t find it
Thanks for this catch, Windows remembered some of my prior settings after I uninstalled this program for episode 1. I hope this helps others.
Great work man, much appreciate the basic walk through. 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
No problem at all!!!
Do you have or could you make a video showing what needs to be done to change the ECM from DBW to DBC?
Great video, can you do & show us how to segment swap an engine?
What is you wanted to delete the egr, evap, and rear o2 sensors
Can I swap a fuel system in the segment swap section from a blue and green pcm to a blue and red pcm?
What if they are from a differnet OS? can you extract a segment from one OS and apply it to a Bin file with a different OS
Thank you, I am assuming it would be the same process to go from 4l80 to 4l60
