Never have i ever felt more caught than in the intro of your video, and never considered using groups...was always confused by these dots at the node tree...great video thank you!
oh man... this is great. I've tired to come up with my own process and methods to do what you have covered here. This is so well explained and shown. Dunna... you did it !
I just switched from Sony to the Nikon z8 for the internal 12 bit recording, pro res and N-Log to do HDR and higher quality videos. I use premiere so I'm lost when it comes to divinci. This video is going to get several repeat views from just me alone. Thanks for such detailed coverage.
this was a great explanation of the group feature! I've been using it for short films and works great. I learned some cool new things on this video! I think you have one for remote grading so I'm gonna look for that video too
Super helpful as I start into Resolve literally today! Can you select clips on the timeline and transition them to a new clip group or reassign clips that got put in the wrong group in the outset retaining the clip level nodes?
Literally just finished grading a video where this exact info would have saved me a ton of time. Great explanation. Thanks for this! Will definitely use it on my next one.
Another use- placing Noise Reduction node in a group pre-clip, which makes it easier to turn off the NR during editing (it does slow things down a lot!) until the final Color grading and export steps…
Great tutorial as always Dunna! So much better than videos that skip all over the place at high speed. Do you have any on colour grading night footage?
I wish we could grade clips in their bins. Because when editing a music video I've recorded an entire track in one scene and I want to blanket grade that so I don't need to bring the same grade to each cut clip of that in ym timeline😊
Whats up Dunna, great info on groups bud! Do you not set up your color management in the settings before you start project and just use color space transforms in your node trees?
I used color management in the settings for a while, but I actually found that I preferred the workflow of CST’s on nodes better. It’s a bit more work but it’s also a bit more flexible because there are a few things I like to do in a REC709 space from time to time so I can do them after the output transform this way.
You have to make sure that you are in the “group pre clip” or “group post clip” node view. If you are on “clip” mode view, it will only change that clip.
Hi,I don't know if anybody here could help me with D.R. but I have a big problem with it. Someone of you knows what I must do to can have smooth results at the time of edit, because I always create generated media but,at the time of edit, the footage is jumping, 30,60 120 fps,I have same problem. My laptop is an HP Omen ,with an NVidia GE Force GTX 1660 Ti,Processor Intel (R) Core TM i7 9750H ,CPU @ 260 GHZ ,2592 MHZ ,6Cores. 32 GB Memory RAM I mean, how could be that when I watch the videos out of DR,it's running smoothly but when I put them on DR,all is running bad so,anyone of you could help me with it,I already ate thousands of videos, changing settings, optimizing media, using proxys, using rendering cache Smart,I really don't know 😢, could be that I must replace the video graphic?,because I wouldn't like to have to quit to DR so please, if anybody could help me,I would appreciate it, thanks.
This is the first time I've seen such a detailed breakdown of grading footage by Groups. This is very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks so much for the kind words! I’m glad to hear that it was helpful for you!

Hola, y ¿qué configuración manejaste en tu gestión del color?
How the heck did I not know about lightbox?!?! I love your channel and I always learn stuff, that I feel kind of stupid for not knowing.
Thanks so much for the kind words!! Glad you enjoy the channel!
It's very clear !
So when I made the group. changes to one clip did not apply to all....?Isnt that the point?

Does anyone edit full music videos on DR? I do everything in premiere.
