This is my first visit to your channel. I watch a lot of ‘new’ YT creators and I am impressed by your camera presence and voice. You are confident and you are well spoken, using good grammar and speaking skills. You are very easy and nice to listen to, and I am happy to subscribe. Keep up the good work. Look forward to more. And great trick with the direction fabric on the project. Those kinds of tips are not commonly shared…..
Thank you, Karen, for the very kind words! As a soft-spoken child who was terrified of speaking to an audience, that really means a lot to hear. Now I'm a teacher who has taught both middle school Language Arts and elementary, so I do strive to speak clearly. Having to film lessons when schools closed during the pandemic helped me get more comfortable with a camera, because a few years ago, that would not have been the case. :) Thanks for subscribing!
Thanks for the vid. I haven't made it to a quilt show in a bit. I hope to make it to the North West Ohio Sauder Villiage quilt show this year in May. Just have to say that my 2 1/2" x 18" ruler is my #1 most used ruler. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. I've found that some jelly rolls aren't accurately cut, and that ruler us perfect for fixing those strips. Because of how narrow it is, and my dislike of rotary cutter boo boos, I put one of those small red handles with suction cups on it. Found it at Joanns. Works great for me!
Beautiful fabrics and threads. The little Tula Pink Oliso iron is adorable. Your finished quilt top turned out so cute! I really enjoyed watching this video. ❤😊
I went to that same sewing expo. Glad you enjoyed it. I've been going to it almost every year since the 90s. I think this is their first year back since covid. It's not nearly as big as it used to be. Hopefully they can build it back up again. It was still worth going to it. I don't recall seeing that Tula Pink iron. Maybe they ran out by the time I got there on Sunday. However I did get another color of that mini Oliso iron and I love it. I also love those vintage fabrics. I missed a couple of those booths you mentioned. That quilt top is really pretty.
Thank you, Diana!💕 I've heard that it's not as big as it used to be. It must have been something! I got the iron on Saturday, and I heard the rep say there were only a couple left, so it's very possible they were gone by Sunday. The other colors they had were very pretty too! I liked that pistachio color especially. :)
Back in 2013, I attended this show, with some Quilting Friends...we stayed one night...and it was so large, that we didn't even get to do the whole thing! We are in Canada...so the whole border thing, the drive, the exchange...sigh... and my quilt group is no longer... not sure if I'd go down by myself... Glad you had fun!
That's too bad. That sounds like a great time. I went by myself, but there were so many friendly people, both shoppers and vendors, that it wasn't a lonely experience going solo. 💕
Poppie Cotton is a fabric company that designs a lot of whimsical, homey, country-looking prints...think flowers, bunnies, chickens, strawberries, and home items. They use a lot of soft colors and they're carried in many quilt stores. The vendor at the expo where I got my fat quarter bundle had the largest selection of their lines that I have seen. You can check out their fabric lines, past and present, here: poppiecotton.com/. I've used/have Daisy Mae, House and Home, My Favorite Things, Songbird Serenade, and now Garden Party. They're beautiful fabrics!
Lovely quilt ❤

That's good to know they make smaller handles for skinnier rulers. I can understand how it would make one nervous. :)
How kind of you for continuing the “Shout-outs!” I appreciate that you talked a bit about we will find there. Love your videos, thank you for them!
Thank you. 🩷🩷🩷

I didn’t make it to the expo this year. Glad you found some great deals. Very cute quilt. I really like the 3 yard quilts.
Thanks, Sonja! It was my first time trying a three-yard quilt pattern. I love how quickly it came together!
Liked your presentation. 👍and sub’d. Esp. liked seeing a pattern, a quick cutting segment and the quilt top. It will give me ideas.❤
Awesome! Thank you so much for subscribing!
