Thank you so much for showing all 3 methods. It’s exactly what I was looking for! I have mini charm packs I want to use & was going back & forth on the grid interfacing as my local craft store has it cheap in 1” (so I was thinking 2.5 x 2 = 5” so was thinking of utilizing it that way). This would be my first bed quilt.

On the edges that you remove the paper, if you based the edges down after pressing it will hold the form better and when you join them to the rest of the other blocks it will be easier for you.

Hi Shalen, missed your videos, but glad you had some time off in the summer. Your quilt is stunning. It looks like you might live on or near Whitby. I'm north of you in Vancouver. I have been working on a Storm at Sea for some time. It was one of the first I attempted not knowing it's level of difficulty. I think you made the right choice with the papers. I am using cut-out templates. My husband may never see it or I might make it a small wall hanging and call it quits.

i love your fabric choices... you truly have a natural talent and eye for quilting; when did you first start quilting? i'm very green - got a late start in my 60's and now entering my 70s but i love to keep busy... i've made a few small quilts but hope to get more deeply involved, and EPP has always interested me.. i find stitching very relaxing, and have done embroidery since i was very young... i want to say thank you on behalf of your young students: what a great way to teach them so many things: an eye for complementary and opposite colors, textures of fabrics, cutting, stitching, focus and concentration - and most of all, building confidence in learning a new skill while having fun! they are very fortunate to have you as their guide and teacher, and i can say pretty confidently that you will always be one of their favorite teachers that they never forget... can't wait to explore your youtube channel more and gain more insight and knowledge from you! 💕

Wow, Robin, your comment means so much! I started quilting in 2009 as a way to get to know my mother-in-law more (my husband and I were only dating at that point). She had several quilts around the house and I asked her if she could teach me how to make one. For several years, I only quilted when we were able to get together (she moved with her husband a couple states away to retire), but around 2019, my love for it really ignited, and I've been working on multiple projects ever since. It's such a wonderful creative outlet! You're right about sewing helping my students concentrate. At one point, the classroom was so unusually silent, I joked with them, "Who are you, and what have you done with my class?"😂 The ones who quickly caught on loved helping their peers, which was a huge help to me. I hope you enjoy exploring my channel and find all kinds of inspiration and support on your quilting journey! 💕
