    Hello, new subscriber here. I saw your video on wetting the back of the paper. I live in a very dry climate so that may help my painting. I often use watercolor blocks, so I can just remove the paper and wet the back with your method. Will give it a try. Thanks.

    Thank you for this demonstration, Joe. I learn so much from watching you paint. You’re a wonderful artist and a great teacher. One question, what is the board you use to support the paper and wet to keep the back of the paper moist? I love that technique. Can I find it at a hardware store?

    • @JoeCartwright
      @JoeCartwright  Год назад +1

      The board I used was called Gator Foam board, but now I use a piece of black matt finished acrylic which you should be able to buy from a hardware store or on ebay.

      Glad it was helpful! I designed the palette myself, as I wanted one that was large enough to use in both the studio and for painting outdoors. It is printed on a 3D printer. I do sell them. The price is $60 Australian dollars plus postage. They take a bit of time to produce.

    Such a lovely painting Joe. Both the sky and the reflections are really exquisite. I am a little old/young at heart lady who has only recently begun my watercolor journey. I have only found your channel very recently and have learned so much. Your teaching style is so patient and well done. I so appreciate being able to see your pallet as you mix your pigments and both your small towel and the paper towel that you are holding in your left hand. Although I am a leftie, I am easily able to reverse everything and follow along with you because you take your time and explain how you use the tools around you. I have not seen any other Utube artist take the time to cover all of the details that you do. Finally, I am understanding water control far better than ever before!
    If I could only make one request, it would be..... please, please, please, on a long video, such as this one.....stop playing that horrid repetitive music. Grrrrr....I don't think I can get it out of my head for the next hour or so. I would have muted it, but then I wouldn't have been able to hear you. Otherwise.....
    Thanks ever so much for sharing your blessed talent with all of us!! 👩‍🦳🖌️🙏

      Thanks for purchasing my book and the feedback. Background music is always a bit of a challenge, some people really like it, but I understand it is not everyones cup of tea. Is it just the repetition, its volume, or all music that is a problem. Any feedback would be appreciated. :-)
