I always assumed Mac was using "Broccoli" to mean money. Something green, like money. So he comes in, kills the beat, makes the money. I remember this song not going over well with people though...as it came out after Vin Jay did "Mumble Rapper vs. Lyricist" and Eminem basically murdering mumble rap after "Lucky You" dropped. So this came off as a song that was a little late to the party and almost no one on this track was doing their best work. Luke Gawne, Crypt and Mac Lethal are all known for being fast rappers that have bars and subjects worth listening to, but it wasn't super apparent here. This came off more as a track that sounds good, but their bars aren't landing like they should.
Futuristic is one of my favorite rappers just in general. Not sure why his stuff is just a vibe with good lyrics. And he does a bunch of good collaborations with people.
My favorite part of this song is when they say “Just cuz you rap fast don’t mean you saying something” because that’s exactly wtf half of the lyrics on this song is 💀 just rhymezone raps portrayed as lyrical ability
Gawne is the biggest eminem wannabe on the platform. You should react to the tracks/disses that scru face jean made about him. He got absolutely ahniliated even his own community gave him a giant L.
@@waddell7354 that's fair lmao! Scru was in a little bit of denial there. He didn't expect the country boy to come back swinging. Shizzy's battle against GAWNE was even more of a massacre. Poor fuck never had a chance against The Gawd.
Underground rappers have always called out mainstream rappers for flaunting their money. All these guys are the new generation of underground rap. Hip Hop's foundation has never been about money or jewelry.
Maybe where he put them in a morgue he meant that he ended their cereer so they might as wel go work at a Gucci store meaning from Gucci gang to working at the store because its called Guicci? Which could mean its what they are worth after their cereer got crushed they are now worth selling Guicci clothing ?
When Mac Lethal decides he wants to throw diss bars, he brings it like few "music" rappers can because Mac's a former battle rap beast. Seriously one of the best in the battle rap scene back in the day. I'd recommend starting with what I think is the last time he ever battled. Mac Lethal Vs The Saurus. I believe Mac took that battle on less than a day's notice against what was at the time, the KOTD chain holder and champ. Mac is not a dude you want coming after you as a rapper. He takes how he reps KC and how what he does is a part of that cities rap legacy (namely macd 10) and how he has to live up to that. So when it's time to get heavy. Mac Lethal does his best to bring as much heat as he can with regards to his bars.
@@GenX-Rising Nah, he just though so little of Tom that he just didn't even try. He didn't even bother responding to the second track, which was better. Remember that whole beef started because Tom got triggered by Mac's tweet that didn't even say his name. At the time Mac was the much larger channel, so Tom saw clout and dropped a full diss and music video over a tweet. Mac made fun of him, and walked away.
If I remember correctly Gawne's line "top 5 dead or alive" was referring to the fact 5 artists were supposed to be in this, but the 5th didn't participate for some reason.
Personally I feel like they said a whole lot of words but didn’t really say much of anything. It’s pretty much like a freeverse. There was maybe 1 or 2 bars that made sense from each of them
Try out futuristic and Devon Terrell... You won't be disappointed. I always look forward to when you drop content brother you have such a calming voice..
Personally my issue with mumble rap is a majority of the rappers rap doing pills and no one questions it but you look at these guys, Tom McDonald, or Adam Calhoun suddenly everyone has a lot of shit to say and I think it's telling on our society
I just looked up the Kim Jong part and found this explanation. Honestly, I never got it either until I saw this. Lol "Kim Jong Un has recently been building nuclear weapons, which is likely why GAWNE referenced him as a common theme in his verse is that his lyrics are metaphorically bombs and bullets." Also, the ghosts at the Gucci store thing made me legitimately laugh out loud..
This song is HATED so much among the reaction community, its corny. Like.. death to mumble rap, rapping in a cemetery. The lineup is great, each of the rappers on here brings something great to the table, but this is almost like all of them performing at their worst all on one track. So, in a way, I guess its a good thing you are hearing this before any of their other stuff. Cuz its really only up from here.
Sadly most of this was the typical problem of fast rappers: using lots of words fast without saying shit. If you got nothing to say, you're not worth being heard.
trying to take the top from me, get a brutal ass beaten get the broccoli. its a double entendre with the broccoli crown and such. Its corny but its a bar
Pretty sure the “Gucci” scheme was directed at Lil Pump. The bars before it seems to describe his career. Can’t remember if this or Cole’s shots came first.
id like to see specificly the end of mumble rap. first guy using alot of space holding rhymes without constant sense in the sentence. second guy is solid. third guy ended 3 other guys life in first bar. end of story
Ngl this is the first and potentially the last time I say this, you did a awful job at breaking down Luke's bars lol. Many things went over your head. Felt a tad overcritical on this for some odd reason. Other than that amazing content as always🔥
Your super critical breakdowns can be hit or miss for me. This one was entertaining. My one disagreement is that when they called out the "lyrical miracle" stuff, they were mocking the mumble rappers calling them out, not calling it out, themselves, so I don't find it hypocritical. I think they acknowledge that sometimes that fast cadence doesn't have much substance, but it takes some talent/effort to write and perform, whereas the mumble rappers can't even say that much. I think you have a point, if you question whether that is the strongest point to try making in a song titled "Death to Mumble Rap."
@@AceMatthew25414 I'm just a casual listener watching a react channel for breakdowns. If you're worried about what I think, you've been on the internet too much, today.
