So we came prepared and knew to rig for a hard pull the first time around

  • @TheCompjunkie

You make this stuff look incredibly easy! I've been watching all the major recovery channels for about 1.5yrs now. Let's just say Matt's off road recovery and some others could learn from you when it comes to getting vehicles out of bad situations like this one when it's suctioned in.
I've seen channels use 2-4 vehicles and snatching blocking off trees, etc, or saying how the boom is the only good option to break suction.
I have Soo much respect for you and your talents, as you are the only channel that has a single jeep, single person crew (and your wife for filming of course) manage to accomplish what the others do with 5x the equipment, 5x the staff, and major struggles. You just roll in with a single rig, think out how to do the rigging and snatch it out.
    I'm impressed!
    Keep up the good work!

The land anchor is pretty cool, when I was in South America, we used to have to bury a tire.
While that sounds pretty easy, it's not. I also really love the tethered chock blocks, simple ideas like that, really make the recoveries go a lot smoother than they could.
I know I have at least one chock Block still buried in the mud up on a mountain trail somewhere.

    Excellent and professional work
I have a question if there is no embarrassment in that
What is the size of the alternator in a car that carries two winches working at the same time?
What is the size of the batteries in the jeep?

We have a 400a alternator and a 1000cca yellow top optima

What size alternator do you use? Those 2 winches are straining but get it done. I'll guess that the Jeep remains running while you winch?

We have a HO 400a alternator
We also have “winch mode” which bumps our rpm’s to 2000 during pulls

I thought that hole looked familiar.
May I ask why you choose to not pull it out the way it went in?

It dosnt really matter in quick sand, it slowly sinks and gets concreted in by the sand
So no matter which way you go you have to break suction
      Things to consider
      It stuck in park
We need to move it to get to the transmission cable to pop it off and put in neutral
Forward was the shortest distance to do that

A reoccurring thing I see is a lot of trucks with street tires just because you have a 4x4 doesn’t mean you can go anywhere especially some of the places I see you pull people out of can’t fix it just can’t fix it.

4x4 just lets you get stuck even worse and further away from help vs 2WD…
