Sir, I have a doubt about the solidification shrinkage. This is avoided by the liquid metal which is in the riser. But, when the molten metal will come in to cavity at that time the outermost parts of the casting is already solidified so, how can it will mix with?????
Shrinkage allowance is given due to the very same reason. Riser cannot compensate for shrinkage when the metal is solidified. Riser is only for the shrinkage of liquid due to change of temperature.
Thanks to NPTEL For improving quality of images and videos................
To so a gratitude i must say thank u sir and thanku nptel for enhancing the quality of engineering lectures.
What an explanation 🤩
Thank you sir🙏

thank you so much sir nice video
Great work sir please keep it up
Shell pattern, follow board pattern, segmental pattern????
Internal shrinkage allowance do we increase the size of decrease?
You subtract
