I am a die hard fan of NPTEL videos, but I got to know that pouring time for bottom gate system is not derived, nor was it mentioned. These points are very important from an engineer's perspective. I just want the forum to develop and please don't consider that I am picking up the drawbacks. There are some people who depend completely on these videos to know their syllabus. They may loose track!
the cross sectional area for pressurized gating system decreases rite?...but the given ratio seems to increase...like for gray cast iron its 1: 1.3: 1.1 ...???anybody wanna sort it out????
Sir, this was an awesome video! Thanks a lot for sharing!
Thank you Prof for your lectures , how do you calculate the pouring time if the cast material is Aluminum ?

wonderful lecture
for pressurized gating system area decreases from choke to gate than the ratio of the gate will be less than choke i.e less than one?
Sir please upload vedioes on physicalmetallurgu
Jaroor apload karenge
Tqsm sir 👍
pouring time was 23.....but u substituted 19....
exactly same doubt bro!!
s same doubt
Dear friends, It was a mistake. Instead of 23 seconds, it was typed as 19 seconds. Sorry for the typing error.
Please consider it as 23 seconds.
Thanks Sir

Yeah
See when a size of ingate is lesser than that of runner it will create back pressure and so it can be called pressurized gating system.
