  • Hello everyone, welcome back to our channel!
Today, we're excited to bring you an early garden update, thanks to an unusually warm May here in Norway. 🌞
We recently returned from the UK, where we visited some inspiring gardens. We came back full of new ideas, which we're eager to implement in our own garden. 🌿
Our garden is four weeks ahead of its usual schedule, with plants blooming earlier than ever. From the purple lilies of the valley to the lush greenery, it’s looking amazing! 🌼
We also share some of our favorite moments from our UK trip, including meeting RUclips gardening personality Garrett and exploring beautiful estates like Sissinghurst Castle and Hever Castle.
Join us as we tour our garden, share our planting plans, and introduce you to our summer flowers and greenhouse setup. We also tackle some garden maintenance and discuss our robot mower, Rob, who might need an update. 🤖
Don't forget to like, subscribe, and turn on notifications so you never miss an update. Plus, consider joining as a member for exclusive content and perks! 🌿✨
Thank you for watching, and we’ll see you in the next video! Bye! 👋

Catching up with your videos after a harrowing season of climate work here in New York. We're suffering a terrible heat wave at the moment making the glacial pace of climate action even more upsetting. It's lovely spending a little virtual time with you both while I'm knitting a colorwork vest out of yarns that I've dyed with botanical dyes. Your garden is so lovely. I'm inspired to try to put more effort into mine. I think I might have to try to go on the next English Garden tour with you!!!

I have a great aunt who travelled to Norway and met some of the people that used to be neighbors or know my ancestors that left Norway in the late 1800s. She had taken some picture by the house/barn they built on the land next to a fjord and I found it on google maps, same everything even a supposed Viking graveyard. Im sure living there was way more difficult back then and they could barely grow food, mainly for the few livestock they had. But it was GORGEOUS, things must’ve been rough to want to have to move from that. They were great fishermen though! It looks so similar to your beautiful home and I wish I could love back there.

i know the plight that Arne is having with those pest roots....here in the new orleans area we have 3 vines that will grow back if you leave the root alive....we have green ivy, purple ivy and kudzu.....kudzu is the worst, it can grown up the side of you house and the weight of it can remove plaster siding, vinyl siding and if it gets its roots under wood planks,, it can loosen them...Kudzu also grows up telephone poles and the weight can disconnect the wires from the pole.....we also have bamboo and with how wild it grows, you have put a root barrier where you plant it to prevent the spread....the root barrier requires you to bury think sheets of plastic more than a foot (30cm) or more where you want the bamboo to grow and then you have build sturdy fence or wall around the bamboo garden...either wood or stone, it can look really nice if done right.....if you don't put the root barrier and fencing around the bamboo, it will take over your yard and spread to your neighbor's yard too

So wonderful to see this. Made me pick up my knitting that has sat since May 27th. Here just above the 49th parallel, westcoast Canada, summer is late. Rain and cold weather until 3 days ago finally the sun is warming enough to make the rose buds begin to open.
I loved the part about Rob, both of you speaking Norwegian. Such a beautiful sound hearing your native tongue. I wouldn't mind if this happens again, and possibly subtitles available? Happy gardening and renovating. ❤😊🦋🥂

I had a feeling you ran into Fergus Garret at Great Dixter... Perhaps he was "fan girl-ing" over you two, as well! How fun. Thanks for showing some of your book haul from your garden touring, looks like you got to see some great places. Your garden is looking very spring forward... as for your tree dilemma, perhaps you'd consider saving it to cut down at Christmas time for the next round of Christmas balls (and the birds can use until then). All the motifs can be nature-inspired from your garden...? Just be sure to plant another one to accentuate your view of the lake from your new addition or favorite view out from the garden. Enjoy! 💚

To kill the weeds, salt is supposed to work better than vinegar. The best salt is the one used in winter on icy areas. It will kill good plants as well as weeds, so its best used in your gravel areas.

well, i hope you don't get rid of all the weeds as they are actually very useful plants; perhaps you could do something with them? I'm actually growing dandelions in my gardens to help improve the soil & hopefully to harvest flowers for salve & eat the leaves for salad & use the roots for tea; maybe move the unwanted moss to those beautiful boulders you have around, loving how you're using colour flowers for bare spots.
your gardens are looking fabulous, always something to attract the eyes, can't wait to see those two clematis merge together

We do no mow May in our garden as well,I have to get a new water pump for our little garden pond…Trying to decide what side..I have been holding off because we have 2 wild ducks that come and visit everyday…and walk to the door for food…Had to stop feeding because I seen rodents as well,so I hate when they come and wait by the door…

I actually bought some annuals this year for a change. My hubs created some decorative pots for me to put them in. The addition is coming along nicely. The spongy moth caterpillars are eating everything here right now :(

I Spray 100% vinegar on the weeds in my brick pavers. It will kill the weeds and they are easier to pull. Although it will kill the moss.
