I've repairing surfboards for 23 years and as a profession for 20 of those. I can honestly say although there are a few tips you could use regarding strength benefits and aesthetic to your repair, as a DIY repairer i am really impressed with your attention to detail and quality of your repair. In my opinion you have the potential to become a very good surfboard repairer if you ever decided to do as a sideline. Great video i enjoyed every minute of it and impressive result 😊👍👍
That’s awesome! Thank you. I have been working on getting the Dart back on the road. It’s finally running good and driving. It’s my very first car that I ever owned. It was purchased new by my grandfather. I got it just before I turned 16 years old. I will be uploading the video of getting it going pretty soon. Thanks for watching. Take care, -Dan
Good video ,one thing that would catch my eye before the color would be the stringers abrupt termination befor the boards end but that's maybe why I should watch the rest of the video befor comments cause that's what your doing now !
With regards to trying to match colors of the repair into the rest of the board, try using an airbrush with acrilic paint only on the repair and blend it in before glassing.
Nice video! Tried to find out the difference between sanding resin and laminating resin. Do you have a link for both you used? My board has a bad damage and I‘m gonna try my best based on your work. Beste regards from Germany!
Hi Kelli, The color pigments I used in the video were purchased from a local fiberglass/surfboard supply company. They do look very similar to acrylic paint, but I am not sure what they are made of, and/or if acrylic paint would work the same. Thanks for watching! -Dan the Fix it Man

Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words!
Incredible job!! And exactly what a youtube diy video should be.
Love your eye for detail! Great DIY job!
Thanks for the video.
I have a 74 Duster and a 71 Dodge Demon in the garage next to where I fix my boards.
Keep up the great work.

Mix the cataliat with the resin first. Otherwise its hard to fully get a chemical bond with the frosting texture.😊
Awesome job. Good video
Nice work mate. Looking forward to the Dodge restoration vid.
Got a thumb up from Italy bro 👍

Wish you had links for resin and all that stuff. I would definitely use.

Quite the contrary Dan, it looks like you know what exactly you are doing. So I'm sending you my board that needs repairs.
Solid work
Solid job, but trying to match the color of the water stains? Hope your wife appreciates the thought.
Thank you!
Is it just acrylic paint?
