It depends on how thick your mud is out-of-the-box but you have to mix it almost as loose as paint it has to be very very loose for a lite stomp because it’s originally sprayed on so they spray it with a very loose mud I do have another video on stomp that we did spraying it on. But do you answer your question it needs to be loose enough where it barely holds onto the paddle when you pull it out. It’s the Motst II then you’ll get points on the texture hope this helps have a great day! Scott
Good video! We are finishing our basement and looking to do this. 1. Do you suggest or need to prime the drywall before doing this? 2. Can you mix in paint instead of water so you dont have to paint after the fact? Or mix in both water and paint? Thanks Scott!
No you don’t have to prime prior to doing the texture and you cannot put pain in it as the texture is not a full coverage nor is it meant to be mixed with paint so do your texture completely and let it dry completely then prime and paint I hope this helps thanks
I have small round sunshine looking stomps. Can't find the correct brush. I have to blend a small section I had to replace due to damage. The patterns are not random. All lined up perfectly.
It’s probably a horse hairbrush may be able to get one online, but you may have to cut the bristles to fingers depending on what the pattern looks like
@@rodfinlay333 yeah it’s some sort of weird custom brush you’re gonna have to try and get a big horse hair brush and cut the bristles to make that design
Thank you Scott and Ernesto! This video was super helpful!
Thank you for this video. I needed this.
I'm gonna do this,
thanks!
Good videos. How much water do you add to 5 gallon bucket of mud for light stomp?

Thank you. I will look into that. I've never seen this pattern and my whole neighborhood has it. Have a great day

Any regular joint compound works just fine hope that helps
