Wasn't surprised in the least that a vintage rock band like Yes could come out with a song that could be a kickin' dance number also possessing painful love-lost sentiment. They always had that versatility in them! ❤
I worked in a dance club when this song came out and the djs would mix it in along with MJ and Sylvester and Donna Summer... it was ultra cool then, and it's ultra cool now.
Such a great song. The instrumentation and reverb give it such a spacy and vast feeling. Greatest production in the history of recorded sound. Thank you, Trevor Horn. the best remix of this song I've ever heard. WAY TO GO!!!
Those were the best days, to be there alive as a teenager in the 1980s was very special and the music is unrivaled, it was the evolution of the analog masters of the 60s and 70s reaching its peak. I don't know what happened in the 1990s with the introduction of hip-hop, reggae, and rap everything went into a nosedive.
You sound ignorant but you are who you are. Those artforms you complained about have been there for a long time. Especially reggae. Heard of Bob Marley? Hip-hop is the recycling of music but in the hands of Masters, its why it kicked rock music ass in the '90s. Rap music is just commercial Hip-hop. Nowadays any no talent hack can do rap music and the genre shows. Here's hoping you learned something 😊
"My love said never question your will at all... In the end you gotta go... Look before you leap... And don't you hesitate at all." Some of Trevor Rabin's best work...helped by Jon's wordplay. This record was just a Rabin solo piece with an incredible backing band. True story.
Very cool that they expanded the last part around the 6:00 mark onward. I've always loved that part but I think it's very short on the original recording.
I'm so tempted to make a bunch of youtube videos where you take the meatiest chunks of 80s songs and loop them for 10 minutes (like the interlude in The Pointer Sister's - Jump (For My Love). I've already created the audio loop for that song. I may do that for this song as well. It's just SO GOOD!
One of Michael Jackson's favorite songs...and in fact inspired his song D.S from the History album and features all the keyboard players from this very track!!!
jason rodgers I didn’t even know about that until now (even looked it up &, yeah, it has the same dudes). I’d have to say... I’m thankful I was raised by parents that have a massive taste in music. I’ve even dived into other bands I would never generally listen to, but love nowadays.. talking ‘Budgie’, ‘Osibisa’, ‘ZZ Top’, ‘Sex Pistols’, ‘Steve Winwood’, ‘Devo’ and other such bands/artists of the like.
My favourite part is "Don't deceive your free will at all", in the end. Greatest production in the history of recorded sound. Thank you, Trevor Horn. excellent, no words can describe the music, the melody...everything is just perfect.;
Owner of a lonely heart is much better than owner of a broken heart. I love this song. This is music. Today's "music" is not music is garbage from a foreign land.
When this was a hit, i lived on a kibbutz, and workewd on the dairy farm, one evening i was milking cows and the radio station had made a re-mix of a whole hour...... that was bliss at that time.......
This is just a fantastic up lifting happy cool track from 1983 and the remix is stunning making it even longer than the original 7 inch vinyl release !!! This is what the this golden era the 80s was different genres music we're coming into main stream music this track has a mixture of dance indie soft rock !!! Massive all over the world and as I've said in earlier comments there was no net Mobile phones laptops satellite TV only then radio top of the pops on the BBC or just go and but the vinyl single or artists album !!! The 80s was the best era with the 70s not far behind growing up in these exciting fast moving times !!!
I can't forget this song especially the intro...first heard this song in knight rider...kitt was rolling down...the camera is focusing on the front bumper...with a wide angle lens...while you can see the early twilight on the background and the lit buildings...everytime i hear the intro of this song...all i can remember is KITT...hahaha...and im already 48yrs old...
What an Awesome Amazing Song wow! In 2020 I'm still jamming to this Great Excellent Song from Best Era the 80's ...♥ Wish could go back to this Amazing Best Time..Miss It...
Trevor Horn, he really understands how to pump the bass end. When you listen to the album the productions by YES just don't cut it at the bass end, Trevor really keeps it tight, I know I have 4 * 1000watt cerwin vega earthquake bass bins in my barn, the YES production have to take it down as the barn might shake a tad too much.
This is much better than the 12" that was available in Canada - it was a boring, repetitive loop of the guitar lick, with no actual song ever starting... of course, you didn't know that until you got it home... VERY frustrating.
one of the great songs of the 80's, the greatest decade of music by far....
I love this song... I remember listening to it on my yellow Sony Walkman (remember those)?
i can remember those moments too;;;
....Such sweet days.
oh yes i had a yellow waterproof one. lol.
Cherie Butler Sonny Walkman ? Wasn't he the skipper in charge of Al Pacino's crew in the Doncaster Brasco film ?
Cherie Butler 😁☺
The Extended Version is soooo Awesome 🖤🎵
Wasn't surprised in the least that a vintage rock band like Yes could come out with a song that could be a kickin' dance number also possessing painful love-lost sentiment. They always had that versatility in them! ❤
Yes, Yes, Yes, what a super song, Great vocals, drums, guitar. One of those unforgettable songs. 🧡👍💥
I worked in a dance club when this song came out and the djs would mix it in along with MJ and Sylvester and Donna Summer... it was ultra cool then, and it's ultra cool now.

The guitar solos and keyboards in this song are amazing. Pure 80's! S2
Greatest production in the history of recorded sound. Thank you, Trevor Horn.
Such a great song. The instrumentation and reverb give it such a spacy and vast feeling.

the best remix of this song I've ever heard. WAY TO GO!!!
These classics are the best! 80's were the best!!!!
Some will argue that Yes is a seventies band though and that this song was not very representative of their older sound.
AMEN!
No matter what style of music u liked back in the 80s , THE 80s WILL NEVER BE BEATEN

excellent, no words can describe the music, the melody...everything is just perfect.;
I have been a mix engineer for decades, and this thing still inspires me. The LVox reverb is just brilliant.
music like this MOVES you... Music doesnt do that any longer... thank god i was around in the 80s jamming to this on my walkman
YES!! My favorite part is from 4:33 on. I always love the ending to the song. The instrumentals are heavenly!!

"My love said never question your will at all...
In the end you gotta go...
Look before you leap...
And don't you hesitate at all."
Some of Trevor Rabin's best work...helped by Jon's wordplay.

The allure of the 80's will always be in style....
This song was always the complete antithesis of Yes. But it's a fun song. With one of the greatest guitar solos of all time.
Holy crap, finally got to hear the stuff that's tragically faded out at the end of the album version. Love it!
One of Michael Jackson's favorite songs...and in fact inspired his song D.S from the History album and features all the keyboard players from this very track!!!
Wow! 🤯 Had no idea! Now, I can see the similarities.
jason rodgers I didn’t even know about that until now (even looked it up &, yeah, it has the same dudes). I’d have to say... I’m thankful I was raised by parents that have a massive taste in music. Which keyboard players? D.S. is credited to Jam and Lewis who had nothing to do with this track.
simplesmente sensacional...
the best remix of this song I've ever heard. WAY TO GO!!!
I've always loved this song. The video for MTV was wicked cool, too!🎵😁🎶
The video was your bog standard 80s fare. It was completely unmemorable.
Never heard this mix of it before, amazing!
I live in the next village to Rick Wakeman. Just saying. Saw him in town about two weeks ago....
Cool.

One of my all-time favorite YES songs.....

i Wonder if you are Stevie
When this was a hit, i lived on a kibbutz, and workewd on the dairy farm, one evening i was milking cows and the radio station had made a re-mix of a whole hour...... that was bliss at that time.......

These classics are the best! 80's were the best!!!!
My friends used to Dj at a Hiphop night, and when they found out I had this on vinyl they asked to play it, the crowd went crazy. Good crazy.
I enjoyed that! Regards from Tony, Sydney, Australia.
Saludos !
Oooh,big tune,one of my faves❤️
Excelente versión 👍👍👍
What a nice tune! Thank You
At the top of my 80s faves!!
This is much better than the 12" that was available in Canada - it was a boring, repetitive loop of the guitar lick, with no actual song ever starting... of course, you didn't know that until you got it home... VERY frustrating.
This went to #1 on the pop singles chart the week of January 21st, 1984. My cousin turned 6 that day.
Incredible production by the one and only Trevor Horn.
I love at the beginning of this song 🎵 always when that BIG BASS goes BOOM!!! It sounds like a Rap song.
The extended DUB version was always my favorite!
Awesome. song!!
