@Wshm10 my battery has gotten a bit worse but it'll get me to 7 or 8pm which I'm home from college by then so I'm fine with that samsing just need to improve the battery life a bit
I can only confirm all of this. I have been using the A54 intensively every day for more than a year now. And since the update to OneUI6.1 it has been running 99% smoothly. I play games with it without any problems - even if it's not its strong point. But for RR3, for example, it's easily enough. But what amazes me most is how good it is once you're in the usual applications in everyday life (YT, Insta, Amazon, Netflix, etc.). There is no difference to any flagship. In addition, the S24 series is identical in design and with my silicone case you can't see any difference and it is well protected. The people who are badmouthing the A54 have never owned one themselves and are complaining about the processor. However, I have found that not only does it work well, but it never gets as hot as some Snapdragons. And anyone who believes this nonsense about things slowing down over time has no idea anyway. The 1380 was brand new last year and Samsung has only gradually adapted the software to it - to the delight of the people who are now buying an A35.
Yeah modern processors all tend to be more powerful tgan needed, the performance issues are often down to poor coding in OS or Apps. Lazy coders often do not care about efficiency etc because of the power.
@@DSD_004 I would make the decision based on my needs, because the differences are relatively small. The A35 is newer and therefore receives longer updates. It is larger and heavier than the A54. This can be an advantage (larger display) or a disadvantage (more weight). There are also differences in the RAM depending on the country. I would always choose an 8GB version (if possible) because 6GB can quickly have a negative impact on computationally intensive applications. Personally, I'm happy with the rather compact design at 6.4" and would only like a little less weight and less wide display bezels. However, I've noticed that this makes the A54 relatively resistant to falls - and that's a good thing.

Everyone always hates on the bezels, but they should try using a phone that doesn't have bezels without a case. They're going to get accidental screen presses all the time. I agree that the Android 14 made it better. It really feels like a flagship while doing everyday tasks. That being said, I wouldn't recommend it for gaming or video editing. It also occasionally lags during random times. Better battery life, a better processor, and a headphone jack would make this the ideal midrange smartphone. The A54 is a great phone, but not perfect. The A34 on the other hand doesn't have a lot of the issues that this phone has so that's probably the best A series phone when you take price into consideration in my opinion. The A54 is great for the average consumer who wants the look and feel of a flagship so it might be the ideal phone for some people. It's not the ideal phone for me though. Edit: I've actually been using this as my daily driver for a week now and I'm not getting any lags or stutters that I got with previous versions of Android. My point is, is that just because the a54 is cheaper does not mean that its less of a phone. The only thing the a54 is missing is a couple of features, aluminum frame. I would trade this s23 back for an a54 any day of the week. I didnt have this many problems with the a54 at all

I have one coming in a couple of days! Granted, I am going back to Android after yearssss of apple and I'm coming from an iPhone12 but the battery on this thing is terrible and this looked to be the best phone to get that actually looked like it would be the same and better in some aspects. Can't wait and thanks for these reviews!
I bought two a54s 5 days ago and on both of them I notice that they have a slightly grainy display, given that I'm coming from an LCD, it's the first time I'm using an AMOLED, but it's something I noticed immediately and I don't understand why no one talks about it in the reviews. Is it a factory defect or is it normal?
Does anyone know what "other files" is when you click on manage storage? I have 8 GB of "other files" and for some reason that number keeps going up. I intentionally bought this phone for the SD card slot because I know that the system and apps take up a lot of storage. I also have a lot of pictures and videos which are all on my SD card. Not sure why my my phone is automatically saving things to the internal storage despite me not having a lot of apps. I wish I knew what the "other files" are so I can delete them and clear up storage.
Came from a 13 mini and have to say its a breath of fresh air. The mini had a serious issue with not lasting. I always had to carry a charger, with the a54 i have not had that issue. I restart my phone weekly to do the battery optimization and app optimization. 512 sd card inserted and also have google storage so phone does not get full and busy with apps. Samsung music being free and downloading my music has also been great vs paying for apple music monthly. Not being locked into ios and able to customize my phone the way i want just works. I switched all of my apple products for samsung and wow just having all of my stuff on my other devices quickly vs using airdrop its been a godsend.
I have a 13 pro max and I’m going through the same thing. Being locked into iOS, battery life isn’t that great on mine, and I’ve been having issues with the screen. It would open apps up randomly and it freezes sometimes. I’ve dealt with serious palm rejection issues with this device that I never experienced on any phone I’ve had before. Hopefully the a54 will be a good replacement. I care about camera is the camera of the a54 as good
@suprxmefire9497 if point and shoot is a big thing for you the A54 isn't going to satisfy that. It is good but comparing an a54 to a max midrange to flagship it isn't there. Now ultra to max the ultra has alot more going for it. If camera is your main thing though and you want to break away from apple I would say 100% the google phone is what you really want.
I just upgraded from the A53 and I ain't gonna lie, I really love this phone. Its display and quality for $400 is really good. I don't really need a flagship, just something decent that'll let me scroll my social media and make my important calls.
In my first few weeks of purchase this phone used to.get hot but after using it more and the phone learnt the usage patterns theres no heating and its super smooth no lag and no issues
i have an a54 as a daily driver for 3 months now. the phone was a "gift" from my cell provider for signing the contract every2 years. it's use was mostly wifi enabled pda music player etc. my daily driver was an iphone 13 mini as a calls and text device.. i love small smartphones and at the time being i had thart device.. after an accident with the iphone i moved everything to the samsung. the phone works mainly on wifi and 4g when outside and need maps. the fucking battery drains like crazy! i am below average i nternet user but this shit needs a plug until the end of the day. the iphone was working 24/7 with calls and never had an issue with the battery. but this thing does.
A54 is nice. Or should I say was? I'm still on 5.1 can't say anything bad but I feel sorry for those who update their phones to One UI 6. Clearly one update ruined all reputation of the phone. Every time I look at Reddit I see another complain. Bugs bugs bugs, everywhere. Why Samsung did this, don't know. I have lost my trust, because it's the One UI why I go for a Samsung in the first place. I will do another comment once I finish the video but yes, I love my A54. ❤
Being a Samsung user since 2020 i can assure Samsung A series phones get better over the time and holds its smoothness. My 2 year old A52s runs like butter. I have doubts whether any Chinese midranger could hold itself over the time despite having a superior chipset compared to exynos.
I've never seen a smartphone line get so much hate. The a series got hated on. It's all over Reddit, even on the 8m subreddit. There's so many people that just dog the phone. It's actually a really great phone. And the economy's processor and it thirteen eighty is awesoke
I just bought this phone yestedsay, a little year late but it doesn't matter. I'm broke I just wanted a phone that has a good camera. My only cons here is it has a yellowish display a little bit warm. I don't know if that's normal or I was just used to my older phone.
I'd say no but the problem is unlike iOS, apps on android has issues with optimization no matter what phone you use flagship or midrange if it's not well-known developers have no interest to fix issues within apps and this applies for most popular apps too. Sometimes they send an update and it is ruining the experience until another update. This is tiring if you're heavy in tech, each year a major OS update comes and you wait for your favorite apps to update. But overall, no problem.
Currently texting you with one, it's summer time where I am with highs of 45 and it gets warm on the occasion but nothing serious, battery life is superb..
Switched to a54 in May 2023. No problem so far. Great phone at a great price. You may as well compare the rear camera results against the iphone 13,14 or even 15. You will not find any big difference at all! It is a Value for money device guys..
Dude, I had an A54 and it was the worst experience for me that is. It would overheat by me simply watching RUclips or listening to music on Spotify. The damn thing was also a laggy, buggy mess. The fingerprint biometric were also a pain in the ass, even if the screem was squeaky clean. The battery life was also a bloody joke. I would leave it idle and it would still drained. I optimized the phone so many times, and the battery still drains like a leaking water bottle. So glad I replaced it with the OnePlus 12r, which is a far superior experience for me. Maybe I bought a defective model or Carrier phones are just the drizzling shits. But I'm just glad I have the 12r.
I've gotten this phone since release, day one. Have not had a single issue or any complaint, whatsoever! Battery holds a decent charge, display is really nice, speakers are nice, cameras are pretty good too, just overall loved it so far.
I have it from 20 days, it's a great phone for me. Good camera and smooth gaming. For $300 (128/8gb) The only negative is that there is no video stabilization at 60fps. The best quality video you can't use while moving. But 30 fps UHD is still a good quality video too and stabilization is good.
I've been gaming everyday on this A54, Call of Duty Mobile on High Graphics with Very High frame rate, and it doesnt lag at all. Two games in and it only dropped 10 percent. Its a solid phone for the price. I switched over from the iPhone 13, because I wanted better battery life but I didnt want to buy the new iPhone 15 cos of its price.
@@xo_melo I have played Mobile Legends, very similar to League of Legends. It runs fine on Medium High settings but anything above that and the phone starts to struggle. I have not tried genshin impact, but some reviewers say it runs okay on medium settings.
Remember, the A54 was so good in 2023, that Samsung doesn't want to sell it's successor in the USA for 2024 because the A54 took away sales from an "S" series midrange flagship (S23 FE).
Watching this on my A54 5G. I've had it for a year September 8th and the battery is still great, it can last me all day. The camera is taking better pictures than it was a year ago. I upgraded from the A53 last year and this is definitely better. Never been so happy with a phone.
Hello, So how do you think the Samsung a54G phone compares to the 2020 or 2021 Motorola Stylus G? Particularly regarding the Picture And Video Quality? Is the Samsung video and picture quality Noticaebly Better or Worse than the motorola? How does it compare for battery life while shooting Video and pictures? which is more "rugged/drop resistant? is ruggedness "noticeably different bewteen the cameras? I know the motorola I have has a metal frame. I don't want to "upgrade" to the Samsung if the Picture and Video quality is not as good or maybe not even if it is not Noticably Better... Have you noticed if it 1080 video good? As good as its 4k of course with the exception of "line detail?" How does these cameras compare when shooting video? (Also evening and night shooting.) Oh, can the Samsung shoot proper horizontal video, but while holding the camera horizontally like you can with the motorola? Thanks. Have a great day. 🙂
I recently looked at the A54 5g in my local Walmart and I was impressed with it from just interacting with it a few minutes. I’m definitely considering leaving my iPhone for an android phone and this is one of the phones I’d consider.
My 2c worth: I have a A54 and it is atill running fantastic. It now has 6.1 installed. For a time it replaced my Pixel 7a as my daily driver but now is relegated to #2 behind my Pixel 8a. I am not missing out much flipping back and forth between them with the exception of wireless charging. Could I use it everyday? Absolutely! I just prefer smaller phones like the 8a.

after 5 years with my a50, the battery is starting to be unusable and the charging port is not working very well, and im gonna upgrate to the a54 for around 300 dollars
It is a good phone. Have had it for exactly a year and some days. Only wear on the phone is near the USB-C port for the charger, the audio is what's surprising. It fills the living room, doesn't sound drowned out.
the only downside of this phone is how wide it is, but for what it is, it's a beautiful device, i wished i picked white/cyan variant, bcs black gets dull after a while

@@sinfulskintatstudios407 ok I’ll give the pixel series
I just upgraded from the A53 and I ain't gonna lie, I really love this phone. Its display and quality for $400 is really good. I don't really need a flagship, just something decent that'll let me scroll my social media and make my important calls.
Definitely a nice upgrade from the A53! Better performance for sure.
Watching on A54, it is my first exynose
Year later mine still feels brand new never sluggish and I use it a lot with RUclips ,BIGO ,TikTok etc .i use it more than I do my iPhone 14 Pro Max
In my first few weeks of purchase this phone used to.get hot but after using it more and the phone learnt the usage patterns theres no heating and its super smooth no lag and no issues
last year i bought a54 but after 1 month i sell it coz i cant stand the heating issue esp when i play games. does this issue have been fixed now?
@Xchanofficial yes it's been fixed as well after the one ui 6.1 update it's literally as good as the A55
@@ZuberSayed-h7e ah really
i have an a54 as a daily driver for 3 months now. the phone was a "gift" from my cell provider for signing the contract every2 years. it's use was mostly wifi enabled pda music player etc. my daily driver was an iphone 13 mini as a calls and text device.. i love small smartphones and at the time being i had thart device.. after an accident with the iphone i moved everything to the samsung. the phone works mainly on wifi and 4g when outside and need maps. the fucking battery drains like crazy! i am below average i nternet user but this shit needs a plug until the end of the day. the iphone was working 24/7 with calls and never had an issue with the battery. but this thing does.
Factory reset it , this phone is having one of the best battery backup
does a54 produce too much heat inheared that about 41 degree celcious?
A54 is nice. Or should I say was? I'm still on 5.1 can't say anything bad but I feel sorry for those who update their phones to One UI 6. Clearly one update ruined all reputation of the phone. Every time I look at Reddit I see another complain. Bugs bugs bugs, everywhere. Why Samsung did this, don't know. I have lost my trust, because it's the One UI why I go for a Samsung in the first place. I will do another comment once I finish the video but yes, I love my A54. ❤
lol. I have just watched the video and surprised 😅 I really didn't expect the praising about the update.
Being a Samsung user since 2020 i can assure Samsung A series phones get better over the time and holds its smoothness. My 2 year old A52s runs like butter. I have doubts whether any Chinese midranger could hold itself over the time despite having a superior chipset compared to exynos.
There is one in my market, it is a second hand used and it cost only $160!
Yep, it’s been a great phone for me too!
Does this phone stutters? I never had a midrange phone before and considering to buy one (A55) coming from an iPhone 11.
@@aydogank45 thanks for this info. I am refusing to buy high end devices for it’s price tag if i can have a similar user experience anyway.
@@JowellBautista same goes for me, a phone is a tool. as long as does the job specs and features are just the gimmicks that they'll sell to you.
Does this phone have overheating issues? I want to buy it but I keep reading that it overheats by A LOT🤔
Currently texting you with one, it's summer time where I am with highs of 45 and it gets warm on the occasion but nothing serious, battery life is superb..
Is it doing fine after a year of usage?
Switched to a54 in May 2023. No problem so far. Great phone at a great price. You may as well compare the rear camera results against the iphone 13,14 or even 15. You will not find any big difference at all! It is a Value for money device guys..
if I buy this will I regret it Steve or go for pixel
Which pixel? I don’t think you will regret it.
I want to take great pictures Pixel 6a or s24
@@akeemstayfit No joke no BS get the pixel 6a those cameras are freaking awesome!
I put the S23 Fe default wallpaper on the A54, and people called me i have the S23 😂
☠️
I've gotten this phone since release, day one. Have not had a single issue or any complaint, whatsoever! Battery holds a decent charge, display is really nice, speakers are nice, cameras are pretty good too, just overall loved it so far.
I will buy it today🎉
Just got galaxy a54 5g phone have had for three weeks now
I have it from 20 days, it's a great phone for me. Good camera and smooth gaming. For $300 (128/8gb)
The only negative is that there is no video stabilization at 60fps. The best quality video you can't use while moving. But 30 fps UHD is still a good quality video too and stabilization is good.
Glad you are enjoying it!
I've been gaming everyday on this A54, Call of Duty Mobile on High Graphics with Very High frame rate, and it doesnt lag at all. Two games in and it only dropped 10 percent. Its a solid phone for the price.
I switched over from the iPhone 13, because I wanted better battery life but I didnt want to buy the new iPhone 15 cos of its price.
you play any other "high demand" games? if so how does it perform on em?
@@xo_melo I have played Mobile Legends, very similar to League of Legends. It runs fine on Medium High settings but anything above that and the phone starts to struggle.
I have not tried genshin impact, but some reviewers say it runs okay on medium settings.
Should I get this phone or s21?
Is it better to buy Galaxy A54 or Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G?
I love my a54 🎉🎉🎉
Mine is a52s 5g is still smooth at Android 14 update
Remember, the A54 was so good in 2023, that Samsung doesn't want to sell it's successor in the USA for 2024 because the A54 took away sales from an "S" series midrange flagship (S23 FE).
Watching this on an a54
Watching this on my A54 5G. I've had it for a year September 8th and the battery is still great, it can last me all day. The camera is taking better pictures than it was a year ago. I upgraded from the A53 last year and this is definitely better. Never been so happy with a phone.
A54 is awesome. Thanks for your reviews. Helped me to make the initial choice.
I got a brand new one for my wife at 242 US$ a week ago.
A52s 5g or a54? I like listening to music, taking photos and videos, and occasionally playing asphalt/cod.
Bro no doubt. A54 is the best

Mine A54 is still on One UI 5.1 and Android 13 😢
Even my Secure floder is not working
I have an S8 with a cracked screen. Would this be an upgrade This guys sounds like Howard Stern's cousin or something.
I just ordered one from cricket.
Nice! What do you think about Motorola edge plus 2023? Is it a good phone vs A54? At similar price?
This or the A35?
Definitely this
I have A54 too. And one UI 5.1 was running better on my device because in one UI 6, Animations run with a bit delay and I don't know why
Heating issue😢
Any tips?
My 2c worth: I have a A54 and it is atill running fantastic. It now has 6.1 installed. For a time it replaced my Pixel 7a as my daily driver but now is relegated to #2 behind my Pixel 8a. I am not missing out much flipping back and forth between them with the exception of wireless charging. Could I use it everyday? Absolutely! I just prefer smaller phones like the 8a.
That's exactly the color of my current A54. Lime.
Mine is overheating and its unusuable.
Ur the one who made it like that, used mine for 1 years still quite smooth
This phone is still, and i think will be, one of the best when the price stays under the release price.
I‘d really love to see you taking a spin with the Nothing Phone 2a, just got it and i‘m both, amazed and a lil confused by it, maybe you have something to say about that phone since it‘s also a solid budget/midrange device tho :D
Don't forget FE season.
Battery drain fast
Yahh its suprise me how my a54 holding up..its newer feel old even after 1 year..consistent update and im never face any issues..amazing..
"a54 is relatively smaller device"
when did i miss my enlarged hand update?!?! how is this fat boy in the same sentence with small?? why is it impossible to find a normal sized non flagship phone these days??
after 5 years with my a50, the battery is starting to be unusable and the charging port is not working very well, and im gonna upgrate to the a54 for around 300 dollars
It is a good phone. Have had it for exactly a year and some days. Only wear on the phone is near the USB-C port for the charger, the audio is what's surprising. It fills the living room, doesn't sound drowned out.
I bought this on May 10 for only $200 flash sale.. it is a steal for me since the regular price ranges from $400-$450.
I've had my A54 since August 2023 and still works great
Absolutely stupid to pay good money for phones with non replaceable batteries.
Xcover6 Pro.
I mean...ok...but you're going to have a really tough time going forward.

If I have to next I'll buy the Fair Phone 5.
Not gonna play that planned obsolescence stuff.
the only downside of this phone is how wide it is, but for what it is, it's a beautiful device, i wished i picked white/cyan variant, bcs black gets dull after a while
just buy a s22
The a54 performance is good 80% of the time, but 20% of the time, it's really bad. Chinese phones are smoother for the same price. Good camera and one ui is great except for the weird stutters. Really good screen and hardware. I would not game on. 7/10 phone
