  • This is not an instructional video as such, its giving you guys a small insight into what is involved in removing the 47bhp restrictor kit in a CBF 500. However we do cover all the necessary steps in how to remove the washers or it will help you in fitting the kit.
The restrictor Kit had been fitted to the bike because it is required when you are on a A2 licence in the UK. But we want to remove it so, watch the video :)
Anyways hope you enjoyed the video and there shall be plenty more videos like this in the future.
Oh and the bike was much more better on acceleration with the washers removed! Not sure if it has improved the top speed yet!

P:S Most bikes with a carburettor are restricted in this manner! (Restrictor Washers)

Hey mate, I recently bought myself a CBF 500 2005 ( unrestricted ) it picks up power just fine until around 5.000RPM, now between 5000 and 6000RPM the power is basically gone, or atleast most of it, it doesn't want to go and after you surpass 6000RPM again it just pulls like nothing ever happened, there's a few posts online of people with this issue but none of them seem to have found the solution, some even bought complete new carburators and coils, do you have any idea of what else could be causing this?

Hello mate, I haven’t experienced that sort of problem but by that description I’m more inclined to say it’s a possible fueling problem. I would go about getting the carbs cleaned via and ultrasonic cleaner and then getting them balanced. Wouldn’t be a bad idea giving the bike a full service ( if it’s due one) and just checking all the hoses for any cracks or splits as it could be an air leak. Also check the ignition wires too! Hope you get it sorted soon 👍
