To me the alignment issues and pressed clasps are more glaring omissions with the price increases - there is no justification for those like can be done for Hardlex.
@@karlsenula9495 yes totally, those are also the ones I'm always complaining about. But as with Seiko QC is a lottery, there's always the comment I get saying "mine is perfect and I had it for 30% retail". The modern Seiko fanboys already hate me enough as it is 🤣
It probably says something less flattering about my character - but man, I love the negative enery of these Worst lists! Great way to NOT talk about Patek, by the way. 😂
Casiotron simply vanished from shelfs in less then a day at least across Europe so I am afraid that lot of people would disagree. For me the only really bad watch is Moon Swatch because of durability it's simply a bad joke.
Fantastic list! I really do like the SRPK89 (especially the champagne dial) and the Casiotron though… Thanks for a great year of content and Happy New Year to everyone!
Casiotron made all the sense in the world for Casio. It's 50 years of the first one, with a totally different design from that b600 and the rest of the line up
Sorry, but some of these are just subjective or ill formed opinions. You can't just say golden ratio, as if there are rules as to how it is translated in the real world applications. You have to look at works of art for what it is, and then only a critique of it will have credibility. Simply saying golden ratio and something is off in your eye is not enough.
@Horologique hi, I didn't mean to be demeaning of your content. It is still good and worth my time watching. But at certain points of the video, i felt i disagreed with you strongly, and I'm assuming that more people would feel the same as i did. I'm not saying you have to please everyone with your content, that would make it generic, and i respect that you stick to your opinions. Each videos would involve a lot of internet research and studying public opinion about things, and it's difficult especially when the subject in itself is very subjective to different tastes. But maybe placing your arguments in a slightly different manner will allow you to not have to rely on a disclaimer in your video, or maybe making more objective arguments to support your opinion would place yourself as more credible and backed by reason. I am a User experience designer and i only want to give constructive suggestions to you which might help improve your content. Thank you.
Actually as long as Swatch continues to crank out the moonswatches i am ok ... It means they are less likely to try to do the same with other heritage brands under their umbrella (like they tried with the Fifty Fathoms).
Agree with all of these apart from the Seiko 5. To me it is an appealing watch with an RRP ~1/3 higher than it should be . . . looks like Seiko is copying what the vast majority of Swiss brands do! I would not buy at RRP of course (you should not with most watches the way prices are now anyway) but if I see the champagne dial version with a good discount will probably pick one up. The Casiotron is OK too, just far too expensive for what it is.
I own a SEIKO myself .The main problem with the SEIKO 5 is that they have quintuppled their asking price and therefore priced themselves out of the market with this one.
@@turbyoulance Maybe, but a new and fairly eye-catching Seiko 5 release for ~£80 in today's market just isn't going to happen. Pricing at that level was never going to be permanent thing, more a case of take advantage and enjoy while it lasts. Brands like Oris are charging at least double in real terms late 2000s prices for basically the same watches that were already quite expensive for what they were. I agree that this Seiko is too expensive, but then so are most of the watches from the big brands now.
The Hamilton Dune watches were the absolute worst ones. For one, they don't feature in the movie at all. And two, they are pretty much a recycled design.
Hello Olivier. Thanks for another informative session. You brought us some very good videos this year. Here's to 2025 and a substantial growth in subscribers. 🍾🥂 Regards, Nico
I disagree with you so much on the Casiotron… I thought it was a gimmick and over priced initially… I found one brand new at more than 25% off RRP so I grabbed it. Sure it should’ve had sapphire for the price but overall it’s a bloody good Casio. Feels robust and is ultra comfortable. Also nowhere near as obnoxious as the full metal G Shocks.
I totally understand your point. I never said the Casiotron was a bad watch, I said it was a bad release. What bothered me is that it was somehow overpriced and "limited" to 4000 units. Casio deserves much more than to take the worst pages from modern Seiko
Judging a watch by price, quality, and specs is a completely legit way of determining what's a good or bad watch. But who's the abiter of beauty?? ...you? A wwatch isn't a bad watch because you dont like the design. That's just personal preference.
We all have watches we like and don't like, if you don't like a watch, that's fine but to totally destroy it with sheer arrogance makes this podcast a sincere waste of time, sir. That means you are a waste of time; do your parents go around saying they have no living children when they meet people? Before you tear down a watch or watch company, ask yourself 2 things: 1. In quarterly earnings, did the company make or lose money on these creations? 2. Will one learn to respect the taste of other watch enthusiasts who may come to you for good advice, not pompous judgemental dribble? I gave a 2nd chance to you with seeing this video, and I regret it. I will not make this mistake again.

Seiko thinks that they are premium now…and that clients are dumb
they are pretty dumb, try to point out the Hardlex problem and you will be attacked by fanboys saying hardlex is pretty much sapphire
