Best part of the video @ 3:11 “that’s the thing with watches. You buy something, you go to sell it, you’re gonna take a loss”. All watch collectors need to know this is fact. And usually a big loss, very fast. So, with very few exceptions, if you buy that new watch, and in 3 months you want to sell it, the used market buyer doesn’t care that it’s only 3 months old, it’s still going to be valued by the market as used at 30, 40, 50% less than what you paid. Great advice!
This might sound as if I've been on the old Valpolicella pre New Years bells , but i find the sweeping movement of the mecanical / automatic watches very relaxing and calming to look at ...calm and cool ,as Ralph Kramden used to say ...bang ..zoom !!! Happy New Year .
I really loved your collection and I am happy u uploaded. I have been getting tired of seeing the same stuff over and over again and your collection has been by far my favorite so far. Personally, i find very difficult to buy other watches to add to my collection as I feel I can't justify it and worry sometimes that I am a lil too obsessed with watches in general. But overall relate to your video, especially the beginning you were talking about taking a break from everything
Just finished the video. Great collection! Really love that Carl F Bucherer as well as that GP at the end. Will definitely be checking out your home theater channel. Coincidentally enough, I'm waiting for the new Hisense PX3-Pro UST to be delivered. Extremely excited to try it. I'm thinking of ordering a vividstorm floor rising 120" ALR screen for it.
9:30 Pretty wild to think that back in the day I picked up a SARB033 and a SARB035 both for $300 each (brand new) and both have a 6R15 movement. Nowadays it's $400+ for a similar watch with a 4R movement. Those Seiko value proposition days are over!! Although, I do agree that they somewhat brought back some of their value proposition days with that black mini samurai in your collection.
People are sleeping on the new Seiko mini samurai or what some call the Shogu-Rai. I have the gun metal case model (SRPL15) and it is a great watch. Great case design, the knurled bezel and crown look very industrial and tool-y. The movement is solid and stable. Way more accurate and stable compared to my SPB143 with a 6R. I got 20% off retail so if you can get it on sale, which shouldn't be hard it is a great watch and overall just looks badass.
Yes my friend, great collection brother I have been watching RUclips watch channels for around 5 or 6 years and don't own a collection myself yet If you fancy donating me any watch from your crazy big collection i would be more than happy 😉✌️😎
Lovely collection!! I could see an Omega Seamaster in my future!! Which Rolex model(s) were you going after? The AD dance is annoying, but certain models are available now on walk-ins depending on where you're at. Obviously something two tone would also be easier to get.
I definitely been looking at like a Santos or something, but I don’t think I could pull off a tank or anything like that and I don’t like Bell and Ross.
There is this thing called “dress watch”, I’m not sure if you ever thought of it. Time only, on a leather strap, steel or precious metal depending on your budget. Having that many watches from one or two categories is exhausting in my opinion.
i wind the watch when i think it's "fun". i don't wind the watch when i think it's "fun". i put them on teh watch winder on when i think it's "fun". i don't put them on the watch winder when i think it's "fun".. i just lay them on the table when i think it's "fun". It's just there to enjoy , as simple as that but branching off into different "fun"
Nice collection! I don't give a hoot about Rolex, never have. The only two I might be interested in, are Explorer 36 and Air King. I'm an Omega guy. Never had a problem with just walking into an AD and getting anything I wanted!

That pretty sums it up. I’ll be expanding on my thoughts on Rolex in my future complete Rolex rant video since I had to cut it short because the video was going too long.
I’m not going to say that the Rolex AD folks were rude They just provided no clear timeline ever on every visit that I went back to inquire.. here I am like three years later and nothing so I’ve given up.
Nice collection! It gets way better towards the end of the video. The watches at the beginning in my opinion are too many of the same type, I guess you wear the premium watches a bit more nowadays! Definitely feel you about the Rolex AD, I was lucky enough to get a Dayjust during Covid, and I tried to get a sub w date, I was playing their game for a while, not worth it, I moved on. There are way better watches out there, specially for aficionados, we like complications and complexity, Rolex ends up being pretty basic iMO. Best regards.
I couldn’t agree more about the A.D. experience. I have five or six watches on my radar that I could easily acquire whenever I want. I just need to get the money.
I did a quick count, and it looks like half of your massive collection consists of dive watches! That’s great if it works for you, but personally, I couldn’t forgive myself for owning so many watches from the same category. To me, it would feel like just chasing trends or hype and not putting in the effort to explore other styles and possibilities.
I don’t want is the most popular style watch that there is right now. I happen to like it the most, but I have branched out when something caught my eye.
I buy watches, get tired of them but hate to loose money so I just accumulate. Will not stop buying them. When I pass to the other life, my son will have to deal with my obsession.
@@TheTimekeeperExactly. Smart man. I have a lot of my older cheaper watches also and honestly, it's not worth getting rid of them. There's too many good memories and sentimental value there. It's what started the hobby. Sometimes, among a collection of Omegas, Rolexes, Tudors, Breitlings, I'll reach out for my first automatic - A Tissot PRS 516. Or maybe I'm going to a wedding or funeral. @@steelsteez6118Interesting perspective. I have quite a few quartz watches from a looong time ago. I’ve felt guilty about continuing to hold on to them since I don’t wear them anymore, but to your point, maybe I just need to lighten up on myself. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze in selling them. On the other hand, I think about getting them into the hands of people who would wear them and enjoy them rather than have them sit in a box.
Rolex allows AD’s to behave this way as they could have more input to the buying experience I would think. Either way I agree the AD experience is a poor one and a waste of time
I got called in NYC and Miami numerous times from different ADs, no purchase history and denied them all 🤷🏻♂️. I guess of you keep thinking about the call your own psychie messes with you lol.
Well you have a lot of watches. Your collection looks like it’s missing coherence. Feels like lots of “for the channel” stuff. No real collection direction or thesis. A little “house cleaning” is in order. Very cool GS and Breitling.
This isn’t the 1950s. There are other ways to tell time. My wrist watch gives me a good approximation of what time it is. If I want the most accurate time, I’ll check my phone but glancing at my watch is much quicker. I do care about accuracy to the extent that there might be something wrong with watch. I occasionally check that on my timegrapber.
A bunch of crap except for 3-4 good Tudors. Take a look at your collection and ask yourself if you’re a Rolex customer. Show it to your AD and they’ll know you won’t be a high spender.
