👏 Nice catch of this "freighttrain" ;) ... Upon my visit in Basel Bad Bf there was another engine skip - from a red SBB class 420 double (ETCS2-equipped) to a normaly only domnestic SBB Cargo 482 (not SBB Cargo International) . The guy from the organising dutch railway transport company told me, the cargo machine wouldn't run the whole way to Aachen - but to Koblenz only - to be replaced there by some other class 186 freight engine . Is it similar in Belgium , that more (historic) engines aren't that easy to operate nowadays for a often flexible routing of agency cruise trains such as this VSOE ?
Thanks for the quick feedback ! The "Re8/8"-traction is common since many years for the big international passenger trains (also for the Intersoc or the Thello) . Nevertheless, a class 620 (Railadventure) realises the actual roundtrip from (Cottbus-) Basel to Domodossola of the AKE-Rheingold, thanks to the returnrouting along the classic Loetschberg line - the last north-south corridor in Switzerland without ETCS2 sections(such as the Simplon line along Lake Geneva or the approaching sections to the Gotthard base tunnel) - I guess this engine isn't fitted - similar to the quite fresh TEE or Rheingold class 420. best regards @@geertcharita8501
Mooie opname! Hij nam een ongebruikelijke route. Van Duitsland naar België via Sittard in Nederland door werken op L24
Nice

Currently, no historic locomotive is equipped with ECTS, necessary equipment to run on the Belgian rail network.
Thanks for the quick feedback !
