  • Church sermon produced by 3ABN with Jill Morikone. There seems to be a lot of confusion in the area of grace and legalism. For example, are we saved by works? If not what role do works play in the life of a christian? Where is the balance of trusting and believing in Jesus and rejecting the message of the Bible to walk as Jesus walked? The Bible teaches that we can have assurance of salvation and free of guilt. Join 3ABN Vice President/COO Jill Morikone as she opens the Bible to teach us about grace and legalism.

    Legalism is putting merit and confidence in one's own efforts instead of placing all merit and confidence in the work of Christ 'for us'. Our alms, prayers, obedience, etc is not to be 'making a fair show in the flesh', and our convictions based on Scripture alone should not be shoved upon others, as the Spirit is our teacher leading us into all truth.
    Good video...Enjoyed it very much!

    The basic danger to we Adventists of today.. we drive people away with this legalistic attitude

    • @cortneystandifer7914
      @cortneystandifer7914 3 года назад

      That doesn’t fall for just Adventist, it falls for all walks of faith. I know that you can only speak on your own experience and I respect that however she covers that in her sermon and even spoke of her experience living with her parents. The problem is any person of faith struggles with obedience. We try to find verses in the Bible to condone our lifestyles, we pick and choose what areas we show obey God, and it just doesn’t work that way. If it did there would be no reason for the consequence of hell when God returns or even for Jesus to die. There would be no sin because we could walk according to our own choices without consequences. Paul said himself just because grace does abound it doesn’t give us license to sin. Had there not been a law of grace or standards given to us by God we would not know that we are sinning. Ultimately this is what it comes to this, do we genuinely love God enough to serve him out of love. Even in our imperfections and falling short, am I allowing God to lead me to the life I should live. If I love my parents I would follow their requests out of love and respect for them. It is the same with God. He forever serves us, he doesn’t want a one sided relationship with us. It’s a give and take.

      Preachers and churchgoers suck up the antinomian heresy because they are moral, mental ,spiritual BIPOLARS with a ROM 8:7 character.. The goal is ROM 8:4. Those modern Pharisees described by Peter in 2 PET 3:16 are deceived agents of SATAN who bash the LAW as much as they can . Most churchgoers do not know the proper concept of grace, gospel, saved. CRIME & CLERGY CONNECTION= TRICKLE DOWN IMMORALITY.

    Wonderful sermon Jill ty but I don't believe all members of the church get it! Being constantly harassed is a hindrance to those who are earnestly trying to follow the Lord.

    Who among us, if we saw a 2 yr old child toddling toward a roaring camp fire, would not leap into action swooping that baby up and carry them away from danger? Is that not a fitting analogy of salvation? Now picture those among us that then turn around and toss that babe into the center of that roaring fire. That is condemnation. The #1 danger, that Jesus preached against, was the doctrine of the Pharisee's, which is the doctrine of condemnation. The mark of the beast that we see compelling rioters and looters to do evil is hypocritical condemnation of others. The accuser of the brethren who is the devil preaches condemnation. The reason the agnostic youth of today refuse to believe in God is because we preach that we are adopted sons and daughters of God, but the next time you fall that's it you are done for and its over for you. In simplest terms, when we no longer warn but CONDEMN we are legalistic. It is an easy line to cross, we all have. That hypocrisy is another thing agnostics cite for not believing. Lastly they point to our wickedness as Christians as a reason that they don't want it, it doesn't even work. Does the blood of Jesus pay the price for my sin? Absolutely!!! We are given a clear conscience to serve God and take His yoke upon us, His burden is light. As His disciples we plant the seed or share the good news. The Holy Spirit REPROVES the word or corrects us. We strengthen, encourage, and edify one another. Why would there be need for correction of the perfect? The wages of sin is death, in this we know to fear God. The blood of Jesus pays the price for my sin that I may LIVE, in this everlasting gospel, we glorify Him. The work of reconciliation is His. We are His body, He is the head. Our part is simple, preach salvation and strengthen the brethren when we are converted. Anything apart from this is of man and not of God. Even the fruit of obedience is of Him and not of man as we can do nothing without Him. Where is boasting? Where is esteeming ourselves higher or more worthy than others? Is it not with the foolish?(Matt 12:41) Condemnation will condemn anyone who receives the mark, number, or name of the beast. Condemnation will condemn the elect that condemn others. Salvation can save us all, but not all believe in salvation to pass from death to life.(John 5:24, Rom 5:16-18) Some will cite Rom 8:1 as proof that if you live in the flesh you are still lost. I would suggest that if you preach salvation hoping for life eternal for others as well as yourself, you are living in the spirit of God. Some would cite, Matt 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect, saying that if you sin you are lost. But I would say, Eph 4:12, 2 Cor 13:9-11, 2 Cor 12:9, Matt 21:16, John 17:23, if we love others according to His commandment as our self, we love others with the love God wants from us. Our compassion and mercy on others is Gods love in us and Gods perfection of us. Why would I ever rescind that? Mrs. Morikone I enjoyed this sermon. I feel like you preached salvation without rescinding it at the end.

    Les ennemis de la Loi sont les ennemis de celui qui est la Vérité car le Roi David vous l'enseigne :
    Psaume 119
    142Ta justice est une justice éternelle, Et ta loi est la vérité.🗡
    les ennemis de la Loi sont les ennemis de celui qui est la Lumière des nations :
    Ésaïe 51
    4Mon peuple, sois attentif! Ma nation, prête-moi l'oreille! Car la loi sortira de moi, Et j'établirai ma loi pour être la lumière des peuples. 🗡
    Le Père a établi un législateur légal : son Fils.

    Your views 're so poor, because the programs are too long! Done are the days of tv, start producing your content with shorter videos in mind. Which basically mean you guys do not care about the creating content for youth, that's concise and powerful and that we want to listen to. You need to adapt.
