    In this stretching routine we cover:

      Hi, watching your hamstring (back of the thigh stretches) I think you’d see a lot more progress if you tried less to touch your head to your knee (which seems to have you “tucking your tail”/posteriorly tilting your pelvis and rounding your lumbar spine) and instead “stick out your butt” (even to the extent of maintaining your lumbar curve). Initially you’ll seem less mobile, and the stretching sensation might be felt more behind your knee than up closer to the hip/buttocks, but the ego blow will be worth it. This (butt out) strategy isolates the hamstrings from the lower back more effectively, and you’re likely to make more progress more quickly. As your hamstrings lengthen, the stretching sensation will migrate further and further up the thigh toward your “sitting bones.”
