Yep, most definitely a different time. The World is one screwed up place now, and so many people are severely jacked up in the head now, too. Would give anything to go back to 2002, when things were still normal, and to be 22/23 years old again as well. A d**n shame that the World, and to an extent, music even, will never be like that again either. Too much garbage around now, that somehow, is classified as being "music", but is all more like a d**n joke, than anything else. Lol.

I really wish this band got more recognition. Amazing albums and they performed them so fucking good live. One of the most underrated bands I’ve ever listened to.
Im honestly surprised how tight they are live. I remember listening to their stuff in high school and thinking there is no way the singer sounds that good live. I was wrong.

This was my 1st concert, got a bus there alone and had to hitchhike back to Brisbane from the Gold Coast at 2am.. Had entrance exams the next morning lol.. Totally worth it

These guys were awesome in the studio and live on stage. It's a shame they didn't get the recognition and fame they deserved, so underrated. Some bands and their luck I guess.
Did somebody hit the singer when he was in the crowd? Saw him adjusting his jaw when he went back up. I hate douchebags that ruin shows, hope everyone is super tough on them when we get all our shows back.
@@jeffreyallen6545 Crowdsurfing was big back then (obviously), and I saw more than one musician chastise a dude in the crowd for copping a feel on a crowdsurfing girl. The lead singer of Oleander threatened to end their set over it at a show I saw in 2001. That’s my guess as to what Tye was saying to knock off, anyway.
These Big Day Out shows always got the best performances out of the best bands. This is the best I've ever seen this band perform. That first shot of Dryden running to the crowd the first time on Movies was incredible. Those people were super stoked.

I was at the show on this tour back then. What an amazing lineup it was. I wish I could go back and relive it. So glad I had the chance to see them all.
Saw them at Gold Coast that year. Loved that band, they put on an awesome show! Was a bit sad that the crowd didn't appreciate the whole set and just screamed for Smooth Criminal the whole time.
I wonder if it was a mistake for Smooth Criminal to be the lead single. If Movies had come out first they may not have been pidgeon holed as one hit wonders.

And to those saying the guitarist was horrible, they were a reasonably new band and he was nervous as shit, he had never played to a crowd of that size. They cancelled their side show For the next day
They weren't really new... I saw them quite a few times before they got signed. Tour buss to the record release show to some place in LA. I was crazy drunk. I don't even remember getting back. Great band though and highly talented guys.

Sorry, what? They had been a band for six years at this point, had been on multiple international tours, as well as having played Warped Tour, and both Reading and Leeds Festivals the year prior.

this is not the order the set was played.. i was there that day and they played smooth criminal like 3rd song in, i distinctly remember cause i was shocked at how many people turned and walked away after smooth criminal, it went from packed to the brim to a few hundred..

AAF's original lineup was pure energy. Were a great band live for sure. Non american crowds really appreciated them.
This was my 1st concert, got a bus there alone and had to hitchhike back to Brisbane from the Gold Coast at 2am.. Had entrance exams the next morning lol.. Totally worth it

The lead singer of Oleander threatened to end their set over it at a show I saw in 2001. That’s my guess as to what Tye was saying to knock off, anyway.

These Big Day Out shows always got the best performances out of the best bands. This is the best I've ever seen this band perform. That first shot of Dryden running to the crowd the first time on Movies was incredible. Those people were super stoked.

I was at the show on this tour back then. What an amazing lineup it was. I wish I could go back and relive it. So glad I had the chance to see them all.
Saw them at Gold Coast that year. Loved that band, they put on an awesome show! Was a bit sad that the crowd didn't appreciate the whole set and just screamed for Smooth Criminal the whole time.
I wonder if it was a mistake for Smooth Criminal to be the lead single. If Movies had come out first they may not have been pidgeon holed as one hit wonders.

They weren't really new... I saw them quite a few times before they got signed. Tour buss to the record release show to some place in LA. I was crazy drunk. I don't even remember getting back. Great band though and highly talented guys.
