I can't believe how well I remember this song...great memories. This era of music and life was really special - last span of time before the digital age took over :/
I would've loved to be in college during what I call "the van wilder days". Warped tour, college Rock, American pie, all that shit lol
@@tylerl3272 fuck yeah same. I made it work with the EDM scene and had tons of fun, but that would've been cool - it even imagine in the 90s going to see Primus and Rage Against The Machine
Amen brother!!!
Fresh out of high school and into college
Truth... a bygone era...
40 years old and still blasting these tunes from late 90s - 00s!! What a time to grow up!
I don't know why this song gives me the feels.
probably because everyone in those days were actually in communication with one another without technology, and Art was actually taken seriously, but everyone had fun.
this one always gave me the feels. It's stuck with me for 15 years!
nostalgia + chord progression
true dat mate, can't figure it out. So much tracks from that time did not live up to it for me but AAF still has this kick on me
same with me man. reminds me of highschool and my first love.
This is an astonishingly awesome song. Most people would seem to know Alien Ant Farm for their Smooth Criminal cover but this blows that out of the water.
Couldn't agree more - adore this song
Exactly, this amazing song unfortunately reminds me of 9-11-01.
FUCKING RIGHT MY MAN!!!!!!
Totally agree
this is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” or “The Wave” by SLT 🎧🤘
I played this at my wedding a month ago it got everybody up! what a song
congratsssssssss
Mister Miyagi in this video is incredible
Respect to this era of music. it'll never happen again.
Once a rocker always a rocker, my Korn and Sum 41 hoodies and overly gelled spiky hair may be gone. But i'm still a rocker at heart.
Those were the days werent they?
Lietuva represent!
oh yeah with u bro
Now you have a big fat belly, balding with a receding hairline, hemorrhoids, irritable bowel syndrome, dentures, and still a virgin. But rock on, mate. Rock on.
rock is forever dude
How has no one acknowledged that this came out January 1st 2001. 20 years ago.
Jesus Christ this song is older than me
My god I feel old, I was 11 when this came out
Yooo
Fuck, I feel old. I had this on a video, back in the day when Kerrang gave out videos and CD's with their mag.
thanks for reminding us you jerk lol I was 9 when this came out and I'll be 30 in July :(
My boyfriend recently passed and this was one of his favorite songs. Our last scene was beautiful
I'm sorry for your loss 😔❤️
So sorry to hear.
I'm sorry for your loss.
That's extremely powerful. Thanks for sharing that with us.
1:11 Dudes dance brings a smile to my face every time
Back when music videos we're like an entire netflix series in 4 minutes.
Lmao so true all the stuff they pack in there is crazy
your avatar is awesome lol
were*
"I was theeeeere" (green Day reference) I was there
@@Noiseheads I second that sentiment your avatar is awesome lol. Man now the song got even more nostalgic, seeing as at the time we would listen to this in my parent's basement. Imagine a group of 6-7 or so 20 year old computer nerds geeking out to MTV music and Counterstrike 1.6 for Half-Life. Some of us Cstriking, some browsing the nets, some doing others, the days gone by. As far as your avatar Nelson, had the D160, and it was my backup computer for ICQ and file sharing.
At slow speed we all seem focused
In motion we seem wrong
In summer we can taste the rain
[Chorus:]
I want you to be free
Don't worry about me
And just like the movies
We play out our last scene
Two can play this game
We both want power
In winter we can taste the pain
In our short years, we come long way
To treat it bad and throw away
[Chorus]
You won't cry, I won't scream
In our short years we come long way
To treat it bad and throw away
And if we make a little space
A science fiction showcase
In our short film, a love disgrace
Dream a scene to brighten face
In our short years we come long way
To treat it bad, just to throw it away
[Chorus]
I'm nearly 33 and i still remember listening too this as a child on MTV, the early 2000s will always hold a special place in my heart ❤❤
I was born in 1990. Turned 33 shortly before you made this post 😂 the 90s and 2000s were great being a kid was great during that time, grew up on star wars (the original ones) and good music like this.. was such a good time to be a kid.. wish i could go back all the time before my life turned into these songs we listened to 😂
@@J-RAD_notAnNpc and wrestling lol
I'll be 34 very soon. It was good times, my friend.
These guys made magic with this record. Vocal harmonies GROOVIEST basslines the vibe they all give off. Incredible and timeless
This band were too underrated.
Annmarie you're too underrated
Thats not a real girl lmao
Still is. Their last album was fantastic.
boo
,
They lost a band member in a bus accident and never really recovered. Really sad.
Watching this 19 years later... The nostalgia is real. Makes the song even more emotional than before.
i think the same
CringyCruz Shut up Greta
Don't worry mate .. 38 here.. I hear ya and totally understand. Hahaha. All this boomer crap makes me laugh.
I'm just cutting up some onions I swear.
Ive had this song stuck in my head for 20 years, but what is more pressing is how the hell does the singer do that shit with his face, and why is the bassist so smooth of a dancer?
Well I am a parent of 90s kids. I LOVE this era of music and fashion. Alien Ant Farm puts a smile on my face. They give off good vibes, their having fun, I'm having fun. I am so glad I can listen to music at my 9 to 5.
So glad the Internet was invented so I could nostalgicly enjoy my favorite songs.
I totally agree
you could do that before the internet but sure haha
year 2000 life was still good
'nostalgicly'...great word
This whole album was amazing. Sticks and Stones was probably my favorite song
I'm really starting to think there needs to be some kind of channel, or television station dedicated to exploring songs that came out in the early 2000's. This is my first time hearing this at 21, and I wish I knew of it sooner.
kerrang play nothing but 2000's stuff to the point where it get's boring
Abel First-Quao if you reply I found a playlist for you that I happen to use
InfamousMedia Go ahead and share it...
look up what MTV used to be. i miss it.
Abel First-Quao Try Spotify.
Really good song. I remember being like 12 years old and rocking out to this on Kerrang!
Not sure if it's still going or not. I think it's still has a radio station at least.
+Liam Walters it's still going got it on my box aha old school
same here!love them
+Liam Walters i was 14 :D
+Liam Walters I was 11 late that year
Back when life was different, much simpler and we were young forever :)
Yo im 25 and got the privilege to see this great band in person with my best friend on September 16 2023. Dryden fist bumped the both of us im never gonna forget that moment.
It's 3 days to go and it's 2023 and i still envy this guy's PERFECT TEETH 😂
I have ALWAYS thought the same thing. They’re beautiful.
RIP Mr. Myagi
RAD BEAN exactly. Rest in pieces heath ledger. May you always be cursed for your horrible performance as the Joker, but good job on playing generic psycho clown number 3.
POTFULLOFGREEN Nope. It was a pretty horrible Joker. Really quite atrocious. No sense for the Joker at all. Jack Nicholson did a better Joker. Hell, even Jared Leto did a better one.
oh god... your perception if villainism is terribly skewed.. my my my
Big Shuggz lol no. Not even. Anyone who thinks that Heath Ledger was a good joker is retarded. Anyone who thinks he was the best joker, even more so.
looks like we have ourselves a joker....
Still one of the sweetest songs I've ever heard. It makes me smile every time.
Anyone else come back here coz of their new releases ? Honestly one of the most infectious choruses I’ve ever heard 💖💖
2:49 "Dryden-san, Shut up!" 🤣🤣🤣
Being in my 30s, this is pure nostalgia! Also the fact they brought Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi) was brilliant!
To this day I'm still impressed they got Mr Miyagi to be in this
I mean they probably payed him? lol
You do know he wasn't real. His real name was Pat Morita. Well Noriyuki Morita, pat was a nickname.
@@jjwp-ql5rv he will always be mister miyagi to me.
Bro, they crashed the bet awards, anythings possible.
@First Last lol you're probably right either that or he wanted a new pool or something
I jammed the hell out of alien ant farm songs when I needed something upbeat when getting through trade school. these guys made some iconic tunes.
no matter how bad of a day I'm having, just seeing the singers face makes me happy.
yup
I loved this song so much but the music video made it so so much better lol
right this is beautiful
This song was their one hit that hit home.... Totally encapsulated hard breakups in a melancholy manner.. Always remember the 5 levels of escalation!!
amazing bass player on this album. Great lines, good tone, always in the pocket, great choices for when to play and when not to. One of the best bass players from this era.
Great tone on this record for sure.
"Daniel San, shut up"
Pat Morita is a legend
he said DRYDEN San the name of the lead singer
"Dryden San, shut up!"
Dryden even
I come back to this song several times a year...and it NEVER disappoints
This was so nostalgic...😭
+Xandria Ravenheart i dont think i've heard this song before but it still feels nostalgic aha
I'm just revisiting this now as a 31y/o in 2024 and I feel like I've opened a time capsule taking me back to my childhood. Music is honestly so important, music from the 90s/00s UNBEATABLE 🖤🐜
i always thought this was their best song
Me too!!
Close 2nd to Attitude.
It is
It was. Too bad the video made it a gimmicky song.
membersonlydave how about smooth criminal
Watching turn of the century music videos are like watching parodies of my memory.
always gonna be one of my favorites :) just makes me happy and nostalgic. I remember playing Diablo 1 on playstation with my brothers listening to alien ant farm lol
"NOT ENOUGH MANA"
(bros playin rogue) "FFS MAN STOP SHOOTING ME"
ya those WERE gud times
I'll never understand why someone would want to play any of the Diablos on a console.
Nailed it!
The sanctity of this place has been fouled.
@@TheRatlhed Stay awhile and listen!
Man, the late 90s/early 2000s was such a VIBE! Sadly I don't ever see it being that way again. Amazing times
Damn, life was a dream in the early '00s...
