Luke Getsy changed his footwork mainly because he didn’t like the way it looked. Justin always had his left foot back in the pocket his entire football career right through Ohio State and his first year with the Bears. Then Getsy came along from Green Bay and wanted it to “look better” so he changed his stance to right foot back, left foot forward. Can you imagine how much that messed with his rhythm? . It wouldn’t feel natural after playing football the same way since H.S . I’m glad they’re letting him get back to what’s comfortable for him. Luke Getsy was fired and deservedly so.

Fields wishes he can be as good as Tannehill. There are more and more videos exposing his inability to read defenses. He is lost after the snap. Wilson is getting old and has lost a step. He also is not very good at reading defenses.

@@Sneakycat1971 1) I can't wait to see how these videos prove he can't read defenses. You know why? It's not something you unlearn, & as no one less than Brett Kollmann proved, he never had any such problem ruclips.net/video/QuhUbISnr8s/видео.html.
Sorry, but I'm tired of people pushing memes that can destroy a person's career. Matt Canada got chanted out of town so let's not discount that NFL coaches & GMs *_are_** affected by* these media stories. & here he is in a situation where he may never get to start again because of it? So don't take this personally. I'm cutting off the_memes,_ not you.
There was a 3-game streak in '22 where Fields led the team to be the #1 offense in the NFL. Everyone wants to believe this was a fluke. But then there was a 5-week one in '23 as well. So it's not a fluke. What changed?
The play-calling. As to whose, well the Bears acquired Montez Sweat & a new DC right before the 5-game streak & Matt Eberflus didn't so much admit rather bragged about how He Decides what plays to limit the offense to.
So when he was busy with the new player & DC the play-calling improved drastically, the offensive production increased & they were the same plays used in the record-breaking 3-week streak. So this happened when Getsy was less interfered with by Eberflus.
Following still? This is important. There is No Way this guy should be a back-up. We saw play-calling reduce an Entire Team, the Eagles from S-B contenders to a laughing stock. Dak went from leading the league in INTs to being in the MVP discussion.
      So play-calling matters.
So to avoid boring everyone, simply watch ruclips.net/video/5JO1PsupF_U/видео.html & tell me: is Caleb Williams better than Fields at _anything?_
I can find two things fields is better at than Williams but I'll let the rest of you watch in case you spot it yourselves. If this is the case, than _all_ his "problems" are due to play-calling. Which means that if Caleb *is* all he's hyped up to be...
The Steelers now have a QB who is better than Caleb Williams.

I disagree respectfully, his footwork was clean and consistent in OSU and his rookie year. His actual throwing release was the biggest problem coming out of school. His footwork got out of wack when that last offensive staff tried to teach him the “dance like” footwork that Aaron Rodgers used. I watched pretty every snap of him bc of my OSU affiliation and he never looked comfortable under Luke Getsy. And like u explained with how the timing issues were prevalent, that footwork was his biggest problem which lead to a lot of his bad plays. So seeing that he is back to right foot forward and seems more fluid is great step into as you put it, “going back to the basics and working from the feet up”

What u take from it is that the Steelers are willing to let Justin be himself more and hopefully that shows in other aspects of his mechanics n play but it’s his processing I’m concerned about. He could quicken the release up too he has a wind up delivery but it’s not detrimental or anything
