- Running from the cops rarely goes well for the person attempting to get away, but that 'rarely' approaches 'never' when a thermal-camera-equipped police helicopter is overhead.
In this video, watch from overhead as police close in on and arrest an auto theft hit and run suspect, conduct a water rescue, and assist fire at the scene of an industrial accident.

That's a crazy good infrared camera
@Eric Pro let me correct you latest ones go for 220k
@@karandev01 Nothing but the best and if it breaks just buy another one Hell buy two so we can watch the poorer parts of town thoroughly
@HRH President of Tattooine they are also used on yaghts
looks like cgi, really hi def
Now I know why Predator uses it lol.
This camera is this clear but when there's an amber alert or anything we get some grainy ass photo from a gas station that looks like a screenshot from minecraft
😢😔
@hellasow its more a commentary on the quality of the video. The resolution from the helicopter is very clear, not pixilated or grainy and I would guess the video from it in daytime is pretty crisp. That's all I'm saying. And yes, it's often hard to tell the bad guy from the good guy in night vision videos like that.
@hellasow oh really? 12 years in law enforcement and I worked in retail loss prevention before that. I had no clue.
haha you realize how much this camera on the heli costs compared to the camera at the gas station???
J. N. Ray 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
Holy! The thermal imaging is very clear.
"you are not authorized to level the church, do not fire directly at the church"
"yeah, he's heading for the ditch"
"recalibrate azimuth sweep angle, adjust elevation scan"
C. A. Yeah... right there. Clear to shoot.
WHOA!!
Yeah... you got him. I see lots of little pieces down there.
For a moment there, I was thinking when they where going for hellfire missile or 30mm xD...
Remember those blinking dots are friendlies
Ka-boom
Damn. Wish I was cool enough to know what you's are talking bout. :|
Those FLIR cameras are just amazing
I had a scope issued to me that was mounted on the 240b I used while overseas. I'd love to have one to use out at our ranch for hog hunting. The footage from the FLIR ( forward looking infrared) on our helo's was awesome to review when we flew over ships during SAR operations. They're a great asset for search and rescue and maritime Interdiction operations. This video brings back memories..
@Drew F Civies can buy FLIR cameras. I used to have a Zeus, used it for coyote spotting/killing. Hide the receipt from the wife though, sucker runs close to $5,000
@Whuts Uhp lol whatever floats your boat bud.
@@ph1426 yeah I've priced them. I'd definitely have to hide the receipt on that one brother.
They have viewfinder's too, I have one that I use sometimes and it's neat. Manufactured in 2010 but still runs great.
Just waiting to hear “AC130 above” followed by some pewpew 😂
Long story short, you’re not getting away from Guardian one lol
well some for thought on the crime would suggest a heat blanket would be priceless
It's crazy what these people pay for these houses that are all right on top of each other.
Location location location but yeah....the American dream!
@david white im special as well,not like you but special.
If you are born in prison and you never leave prison, you never know you're in prison.
Why?
Wow the daytime FLIR is damn clear too.
It's hard to hide once flir has locked on to you.
thermal blanket might help (in a forest), but that resolution can pinpoint any exposed hot surface... so makes evasion really difficult
I saw a video once where a kid lost the flir camera but jumped in a trash can. The house had 3 cans and he jumped in the middle one. The fuckin camera showed hot footsteps on the driveway and you could see the middle can gradually getting lighter and lighter
Bottom left, "SLAVE READY" to get released and hunt him down.
I love the helicopter videos more than any other cop video 🚁
And I was about to ask you for another of these type of videos. You read my mind. Thanks for the awesome content!
What I don’t get is why the helicopter doesn’t make use of its ability to hang in one place or even reverse to keep the culprit in view
"Inertia"
What's funny and also awesome is this takes me back to my childhood watching World's Wildest Police Videos! 😅😅😭
You can never hide from FLIR equipped helo 🚁🚓
Yes you can. Pretty easily actually.
thats why you gotta always have a bag of cats on you to throw out and distract the flir operator
@@adeadlydingus A guy over here in England nearly got away by hiding amongst some sheep! Unfortunately the helo pilot wanted to look again and turned the day lamp on! There he was crouched on all 4's 😅
He could have hid under a car
This is like the AC-130 on Modern Warfare 2 with the thermal toggled
nerd
Mike Hawk casual nerd even.
“Suspect located, splash one, splash one!” “Good kill.”
FLIR has come a long way from the footage I've been looking at. Impressive quality.
Should’ve called Metro-State K-9 unit they are state certified you know and they would’ve caught him quicker
Ah, yes. White shadow, the meanest Chihuahua you've ever met.
Those high-definition FLIR cameras are amazing.
Very good catch! Le still needs a limited range video transmitter to send the picture down to the officers........would make thing much easier and safer. With a transmitter you're not walking the ground troops up on an armed suspect.
Damn that's some high quality video. Sharper than most games that have FLIR. Though that may be halfway deliberate so it's not more over powered than it is.
-edit I love the Intel relay here. I played tonnes of Project Reality BF2. You could have team work exactly like in the video. As a SL of a 8 man team you could talk in your squad com, as well as between the other 9 possible SL and the commander.
The chopper squads would drop people of, do CAS, logistics, as well as spot enemy movement for infantry and armor squads. So a recon chopper could sit around and laser designated for the commander or SL what they are looking at.
Then the ground units would use that intel/cover to advance on the objective. SL's could walk in fire for the mortar team who are like 1-2KM away from the frontlines never seeing the people they killed. Or you could infantry could give detailed descriptions of what part of the CAS target has people in it.
Of course this is LE, and there is a lot less shooting, but it's still cool to see the team work.
One those emergency blankets would have come out handy here lol. Glad they got him.
WOW! You guys are great. You do so much for our community. Thank you 🙏🏻
5:57 I found the suspect! He is crouching in the backyard of the third-from-the-right house (the house with the trampoline) in between the house and what looks like a covered hot tub. He is standing VERY still. The helicopter operator missed him but you can see his silhouette if you look closely!
Wow you spotted him at 5:57? Yeah he's very still, probably because there's a police officer pointing a gun at him 5 feet away.
Wow that "hot spot" was tiny, good work by the operator
Good police work: suspect in custody!
When they have a visual, why does the helicopter keep orbiting, why not just stop and look at the perp?
Maybe because you don't want to let on you have his location? If you make it obvious you know where he is, he is going to move again and that could result in a whole lot of unnecessary extra work. As long as the helicopter is moving there's a chance he is going to believe the helicopter lost him.
The guy should have brought a manpad. That would have been the only way to ditch the aerial component. Maybe something like an older Soviet Igla "needle" manpad. Assuming he can get it to lock on and launch, there might be minimum range issues.
Flight safety. If a helicopter is moving and loses power to the rotor it can autorotate (helicopter equivalent of gliding) which is mostly survivable. If the same happens and it's hovering it just goes straight down.
@@davebox588 Thats true but I dont think he could save them if engine failed in example here, it looks like he had low altitude and low speed anyway so I am not sure if he could autorotate succesfully.
@@Luka-xx5ve I was a fixed wing pilot (in the UK) but we had a police observer in our club who told us that that was the main reason they kept moving. Another is that hovering takes more concentration and the helicopter is inherently unstable in this configuration. When moving (I was told quite pointedly that) even a fixed wing pilot can fly one. (typical bloody egg-whisk pilot's remark).
My understanding is that the transition is quick provided the pilot is on the ball. It is after all what autogyros do all the time.
Love our Guardian One!
AC130 in the air
xD. Imagine
Gunship 😜
He ain't using cold-blooded
Always love the helicopter videos, keep em coming !!
Why you guys circle a helicopter when looking for someone I'll never know
Not only is does that camera have insane resolution, it's sensitivity is insane. You could see the trail of warmer water behind the boat, which is like maybe a degree or two warmer than the water around it. Nuts.
jeremy dewitt needs his own reality tv show called "Escort 911"
Property taxes thousands a year Criminal hiding in your bushes Priceless 🇺🇸
I saw him hidden behind the hot tub well before they found him and when they had lost him 4:16 just below the N of the compass. Maybe I should get this job 😂
Damn, these camera's look so great!
I thought the point of a helicopter was they're supposed to be able to hover. Why does it keep circling around and losing the suspect?
He lost some good shots. I think is due to bad com between pilot and camera operator.
I wish I could afford a badass thermal like that.
The quality is insane.
About 20 years ago me and some friends, about five of us ditched the ghetto bird in a desert park at night. We were drinking and smoking pot about 100 yards away from the parking area. A police officer saw the vehicle we arrived in an probably heard us being loud out in the distance. A Police helicopter was called in to look for us. We scattered like roaches and all ran a different direction. I ended up hiding in a ditch under a tree. Unfortunately one of my friends ran straight into a saguaro cactus. This dude was punctured about 10 times over his body. All of us escaped the ghetto bird and met up about an hour later. Good times.
that Flir cam has 100x better resolution than my Canon video camera... probably costs 100x more too
Thank goodness for good ol' "helliopters"!
*Car Theft Hit and Run Suspect Caught by Guardian One*
*What a Rhyme*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
oh man i freakin LOVE these vids
So this is why cops always spawn around me in gta.
Guys the flir is good because the helicopter is only 400m away. Those military videos are from like 2-6km away in some cases.
Full HD SWIR.. it's super clear..
Remember if you’re running from the cops and they have a helicopter on avg they can only have 2 hour flight times so better hope you have a full tank and can out run cruisers
It sounds like the guy working the camera is eating fritos
Damn that IR camera on that chopper makes me not wanna commit crimes ever.
You shouldn't need a FLIR camera to feel that way at least if you were raised right
Wow night vision has really improved.
What a superb asset the helicopter and experienced Observer make for their ground based colleagues.
What is needed are sentences which truly reflect the harm the convicted offender does to people, property and communities.
No bail, no reduced sentences, no parole or probation.
Sentences that truly reflect how society feels about serial offenders.
Holy shit that quality is amazing.
This isn't fair, they had esp
R1, R1, Circle, R2, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left
Are you on PS4 or PS3
Anyone else notice in the right-hand corner it says SLAVE READY...what does that mean?
Life Hack: Don't Break the Law!
AMAZING technology.
Wow a video that isn’t about the impersonator rare
"RUN FOREST RUN " life is like a box of chocolates he will be eating shit tonight ?
It's 2020 the footage from the Helo should be Broadcast to every patrol car's computer for real time viewing. Get your shit together people.
Why in the bottom right reads ''Slave ready''?
Are they after a black dude?
Lmao, gone are the days of running from cops.
Wow very nice technologie !
why is that camera higher definition than my eyes
Great camera, unfortunately the helicopter is circling very badly. Should spend more time where the suspect can be seen or even hover.
I want this job. It is basically a videogame. Do those cameras give off radiation?
Suspect: nice wh
That tech is so cool!
wow / that is some good resolution and super stable image
Is this leaked footage of the next cod?
This might be a stupid question but I honestly don't know, how does this guy know all the streets and addresses?
They caught him and the court gave him 6 months probation probably.
Question, why do you orbit instead of hover over the subject?
These helicopters (and the fuel) are expensive no doubt, but there is no price that can be put on capturing carjackers, robbers, burglars, etc. whilst also reducing risk to officers on the ground.
How much is the camera? Is it possible to buy to the public
Excellent! Mr. Car Thief - in addition to any custodial sentence - hopefully that little boy will be ordered to pay restitution for the use of the helicopter and its crew. That should be a nice, tidy sum. Save the law-abiding tax payers a bit.
You can't run,
You can't hide.
I'm going to fiiiiinnd yooouuu,
AAAnd maaake yooouuuu,
paaay meee....
why don't they keep the helicopter stationary at around 2:47... there are long stretches where they couldn't see anything.
Looks like a great video game. How do we release the slave to catch the perps?
Question: Is it SOP that the helicopter can't hover? Seems unfortunate just when the officer gets to the suspect they disappear behind a house, they can't see what's happening
Guardian One should be fitted with a couple tomahawks. Just in case the officers on the ground get tired of chasing him.
6:01 holy shit that guy is fast as hell...
What does "slave ready" mean
Daddy Falcor auto stabilization/follow?
Daddy Falcor ooop i just had to delete my comment cause i just asked the same thing
Tranquilizer Darts should be legalized. Oh wait, perp lives are more valuable than law abiding citizens. God forbid they get hurt.
Can't hide from the eye in the sky.
why do the helicopter keep moving? why not stand still when you see him?
You gotta love FLIR Systems, at least until it's used against you.
It almost looks fake the quality is so crisp
Great Camera, but why don't you just hover once you have suspect in view.
Awesome home the boat propeller changes the temperature of the water, I guess that makes sense.
I wanted to see that cop tackle the thief but the choppers view got obstructed from the house. Maybe next time.
Pilot doesn't apparently know that helicopters can hover in one spot.
How does he know all the addresses?
Map overlay. If you want to see it, search the channel for “speed enforced by aircraft”
The chopper has a system on board that tells them the street names in real time. Ain’t technology swell?
Was hoping a helfire would take care em.
The helicopter pilot was horrible giving direction instructions.
ghpjerry you could see him behind the hot tub a few times... he put that lone officers life on the line not checking that corner out.
It reminds me of when your the last player alive and your teammates are all yelling, LEFT, RIGHT, BEHIND THE TREE!
did they not find him??
Colby Yes, but the Officer was alone when confronted him. Obviously it’s tougher in that situation to do everything perfect but it was pretty obvious. If he had zoomed in on where he last saw him for a second the other officers could have been running sooner.
is it me or all the houses have horrible roof insulation
Im surprised these things don't incorporate some kinda mapping system to overlay the names of the streets and highways yet.
