  • Impressive driving by the bad guy in this pursuit, including a ramming-escape from being barricaded in a cul-de-sac.
    Of course, you're not getting away from a helicopter. (On that note, even more impressive in this footage is Guardian One's sticking with the pursuit despite countless ground agencies' terminating their involvement.)
    This is the first time the full length-footage from this pursuit is being publicly disseminated.
    Enjoy!

    I love how everyone dropped hints that they were pissed when the supervisor terminated the pursuit. @2:00-5:20 So we're not going to follow a possible shooter? Nope because it's only a "possible". Anyone have the status of the pedestrian that was hit? How many hit and run calls have we received about this vehicle? Multiple!

    So 2 felony hit and runs and a possible shooter but because of frivolous lawsuits everytime the police agency try and do their jobs and a lazy supervisor we just let him go.
    I think the supervisor that called off the pursuit needs to learn to listen and work on his people skills, he said if it's a Mazda truck then to terminate, then helicopter later said it was a chevy truck then the super gets mad at the pilots because they stayed on his channel and tells everyone to terminate because the shooter was linked to a GMC truck not a Mazda again it was already verified that it was a GMC not a mazda. Just sounds like the supervisor wanted to go home or something. Either way the city will be sued whether they chase or terminate but that is just the times we live in. Seattle like many other cities are letting the snowflakes make the rules.

    Why are we not using unmanned aircraft for this task? This is what I did in Afghanistan everyday as a UAS operator. I'd love to use these skills. I'm sure every police department in rural America would love this ability. Why are we not giving them such, and vets like me (stuck driving Uber) a real job and utilize the Millions in dollars spent training us buy you the US taxpayer? I have a very particular set of skills, skills that make me dangerous to people who run from the police and that make me very valuable to people who are lost or for firefighters who might need the ability to see hotspots and the like. The list goes on...

      @whatsonchannelB 5 лет назад +7

      Helicopters cost about $500 per hour to operate. The staff cost is minimal, might make that $600 at most. Reaper drones cost $2,500 - $3,500 per hour, and larger drones such as the Global Hawk cost approx $30,000 per flight hour. For one drone, you could have five choppers in the air doing the same job.

    • @alanhelton
      @alanhelton 5 лет назад +2

      @@whatsonchannelB you're completely right and it doesn't make sense for a small community to have a Reaper drone that has a 30 + hour loiter time when a shadow unmanned aircraft can loiter for 6 hours plus and costs a fraction. That's just one of a handful of UAS that are cost effective. Not to mention we have plenty of trained veterans who are not being utilized with this skill set. When we spend 150k plus just on training these soldiers, the loss of each of these personnel is our country's loss. I don't like the idea of militarising the police force, but our officers, troopers, deputies, constables, firefighters and more deserve this asset.

    Agree with other comments. That pit manoeuvre was reckless at best. Could of killed someone. A head on collision at a combined speed of maybe 100mph, 50 each way, totally dangerous. Glad the innocent wasn’t killed. I couldn’t care less about the baddie.

    Whomever that OIC with the slow voice is in the first 1/4 saying to terminate, lacks common sense to ask a few questions to validate the chase.. Never heard such a moron cop in charge in my entire career. And the helo, SHOULD have been telling them this guy is clearly running, blowing every intersection, hitting vehicles and reckless driving even when no one is chasing him.. So either it IS the subject initially wanted or this one is still someone that needs to be stopped before he kills someone.. Instead the truck keeps driving putting many many more people in serious danger... Had I been in an accident caused by this guy when he was NOT being chased and I found out it was because they terminated even though he continue to drive through intersections, side swipe cars, etc, that department and city I would have sued for even more money... And that is what this is about.. money.. the city does not want to get sued...

    The pilot or the TFO did a great job calling this pursuit out. Great Job!!! Ground units, not so much... I mean come on he is a fleeing felon. Game on!!! I would be on this guy like flies on crap. And then they decide to pit when cars where coming in the on coming direction. Poor decision making.

    This had to be a absolute 3 ring circus this pilot was dealing with wow he really kept his cool n just kept calling out locations praying that some cop somewhere could get their crap together and catch this guy b4 he kills someone!!!!! Wow I can't believe how LAZY that supervisor was WOW yeah let's just terminate who knows if he's a murderer but he has ran someone down with his truck and a few hit n runs sure thing bub LOL we will handle this, don't worry!!!!

    Sad Real World Police videos do not provide an update about what happened to this low life who endangered the public and law enforcement. Did he go to court? Was he convicted? Did he go to the BIG house? If Seattle, did he go to traffic school and receive touchy feel therapy? Thank goodness for the police helicopters above following the bad boys and the ground police who want to do their job. This bad boy was slippery, but they got him.
