  • Many people want or need their phone to be available to them when working in VR. In this video, I demonstrate a few different ways this is possible in Immersed.
    0:00 Introduction
    1:00 Windows PhoneLink: support.microsoft.com/en-us/p...
    2:20 Dell Mobile Connect: www.dell.com/en-us/lp/dell-mo...
    3:45 Scrcpy: github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy
    Looks like this is actually pronounced: "screen copy", not "scrappy"! :)

    9:13 Using Phone in VR in combination with Passthrough

    I just started using Immersed and your Videos are a great help. Yesterday I tried your tricks with the passthrough portals from another video and I think it's very interesting to push your head through a virtual bubble and see "behind" it. Would be cool if you could place virtual stuff there. Maybe a camera or something which you dont want to see all the time. Today I will try to connect my phone. Thanks for this content.

      Awesome! I love the experimenting and creative thinking. The more time I spend in this technology, the more creative possibilities I see. This is awesome stuff!!

    Great content, very disappointing that we are propelled back 30 years to a microsoft vs. apple world where android phones are fully supported and iphones are left out completely, but not your fault. The information here was helpful, if not to discount being able to use it as a iphone owner. I really appreciate you effort and quality of your content. Keep up the great work.

      Thanks. I understand your frustrations. However, from my understanding the "Phone in VR" solution that I actually use on a daily basis is identical for Android and iPhone. And my not highlighting other iPhone solutions, I'm not suggesting they don't exist... I just don't happen to know about them since I'm an Android guy. Also, I can tell you this... the Immersed folks definitely DO have improved Phone in VR functionality on their roadmap, so the tech is only going to get better. So that's encouraging!

    That’s cool to see this demonstrated. It’s not difficult to imagine that Apple will prioritize having their phones/iPads fully functional within vr, but will have a more tracked keyboard like experience. Thanks for putting this together! Inspirational as usual ☺️
    Unrelated to phone in vr, but related to your virtual office setup; have you ever checked out a windows program called display fusion? I plan to start experimenting with it soon, after I finish up a project I’m stuck on. I just recently discovered it, but it basically gives you multi monitor super powers! The main feature that got my attention is the ability to customize hotkeys to switch between different monitor profiles. But you can make virtual desktops, windows snapping zones, task bar tricks, etc. It just seems like combined with immersed, it will make it even more amazing

      Thank you for the kind words! I agree that a truly tracked phone (in 3D space) with your actual phone screen overlaid would be a game changer! Hopefully something like that is in the works! I haven't previously heard about display fusion. I'll definitely check it out!! Thanks for the tip!!

      Hi there - Immersed works really well! You certainly can play games in Immersed. However, it is not optimized for gaming so it might not be the best experience.

    Does my headset have to be connected to WiFi for this all to work?

    • @WorkInVR
      @WorkInVR  Год назад

      Currently, yes. Immersed is working on a tethered capability, but that hasn't been released yet. So for now, your headset and laptop need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
