Flux is the winner
@@ghost-user559 Flux is a product of a different category. It does not support hardware manipulation via DDC.
Shottr is a godsend, thanks for the rec!
Thank you Mr. Snazzy! You’ve solved most of my current issues with Mac OS (as paid alternatives have gone defunct or been lost to OS and hardware transitions) in a single video. This video was worth my sub to the channel all by itself:-).
Thank you for the free app videos. Every time I get ready to go back to university with my old MacBook, you are there for me. I remember watching these videos when you had no beard. We have both come a long way, and can't wait for the next video.
Oh my god you're a lifesaver. I have an HP gaming monitor which even at lowest brightness, is really bright for nights. I am in love with the Quickshade. Thanks a lot!!!!!
Man this is probably one of the most valuable episodes for Mac that I've ever seen. You have won another subscriber.
You never disappoint when you make these kind of videos! I had just discovered Shottr a couple of days ago, but you still showed me features I was not aware of. So much gold in here that I need to watch again and again. Thanks Quinn!
Is better to use OnyX or Appcleaner to delete application? Thank You
I thought I had a good knowledge of Mac apps but this has opened my eyes to many I didn’t know existed - very useful indeed.
Photo and video apps outside the mainstream Photoshop/Final Cut would also be a really worthwhile.
Many thanks 👍🏻
This is the first video in ages that actually helped me. Kudos!
My two favorites are Cron and Notion. Talk about a dynamic duo. They are amazing.
What do they do?
@@Kami_YT Notion is a super powerful note taking app and Cron is a calendar app
@@neekster28Better then floating notes?
@@Kami_YT I haven't used floating notes, but Notion offers SO MUCH functionality. The database feature is especially helpful for me.
@@neekster28 I might have to check it out, floating notes is just a small floating note you can copy and paste that is just there with like 4 colour options and it's very basic, but done well. Do you have a link to Notion?
This has to be the best "free apps for mac" video I've seen in a while in RUclips. I think I'll use at least 6 of these apps. Really Snazzy never dissapoints !
excellent tips! 👏😎
Dang, usually these videos (not yours, other creators) are apps so niche I would never use but find cool.
These are freaking awesome and I would use nearly all of them.
10/10 video, thank you!
This was absolutely amazing - loads of new stuff! I really think these software-focused videos are an area, where you excel. Would love to hear more on email alternatives til Apple Mail.
I recommend Spark! Lots of great features, and it looks good too!
Lol, it's really cute how sweet you are freaking out over the shottr features 😂 I like nerdy stuff as well and some of the features are cool, but I litterally don't know where I should use any of those apps. 🤷🏼♀ But it was fun watching you 👍🏻
Wow props I really like Orion it's everything I wish safari would be with more customizations and extensions. I would like to see compact tab bars, but it's not there maybe in a future update. Thanks for the video very informative stuff!
WOW.... You actually typed "you" on that search bar thing without hesitating, without any fear, without even thinking the outcome.
I'm impressed.
This is such a dope video. Exponentially improved my workflow. Thank you!
i love your content more and more these days. Well thought out and well presented with great production values and most importantly very good advice. This video is much like some of your earlier ones that opened my eyes to alternative apps youcan use and stuff that just makes the cult of mac a little less opaque. I will be getting almost all of htese apps and i loved the delivery and style so keep up the good work
This vid popped up on recommended for me. Being quite the nerd, I rarely find anything new from these types of vids but Dropover was an instant install / buy and Hidden Bar was an awesome replacement for my old copy of Bartender. Thank you sir!
hey how do you get the temps, voltage, etc reading at the top bar? Thanks
Istats
Dude this video was full on amazing. I’m getting a new MacBook soon after a couple years stuck in WindowsLand, and lemme tell ya: your Dropover demo had my heart racing in excitement. There are just no good apps like this on Windows.
some of these seem to have total control and access of our data.. can anyone confirm whether its safe or not?
Wow. Finally an interesting and unique "Download these apps" video! Downloaded most of them
Awesome apps. I like how you just stare at us for a second after the end of each app. 😂
Thankssss. I'm currently using windows because of my job, but when i return to mac i'll for sure revisit this video and download almost all the apps, amazing quinn, as always.
Absolutely lost it being called a “cutie patootie” so out of pocket I can’t stop laughing
Lovely. I grabbed some amazing apps that improved my workflow significantly.
You've probably just put Shottr on the target for Apple acquisition if it isn't already with this review.
Something like Hidden Bar should also be integrated into MacOS (perhaps a wee bit more compact).
Although not free, Sindre Sorhus, the creator of the Velja and One Thing apps shown in this video, also has an app called Dato. It integrates calendar and is able to notify you of upcoming events, join Zoom/Teams/Meet meetings with a single click (no web browser needed) and shows any upcoming event in the menu bar.
Been using it for a year now and it's indispensible for me. Highly recommended!
Dropover is not free, 14 days trial
He stated that in the video. Did you actually watch it?

Brooo, I love your energy!!! It is hard nowadays to find RUclipsrs that really like what they do beside the money!!!! Keep it up !!!!!
Dropover is not free..
I installed OnyX yesterday. No idea what part of "Maintenance" is responsible, but my iMac M1 is back up to speed, like when it came out of the box. Thanks for pointing me is its direction, Quinn.
I actually dowloaded like half the stuff you recommended. First video with a good list of apps. Thanks mate.
how come your memory usage goes up when using imageoptim? Surely it should be making more space on your hardrive
Killer list! Especially for Windows users that are not as familiar with Mac. Love it.
Just came back to Mac after 4 years of Windows - thanks for making the switch easy!
For the first time I clicked on bell icon and turned on notifications. Really liked all the free Apps. Thanks
Great video. Love the "Dropzone, ooops no, Dropover" gaff at 7:02 I'm already using Dropzone because of one of your earlier recommendation, but might switch.
Oh I use Shottr almost every day, it is absolute top-tier software!!!
Is there any advantages for using later over spaces?
I've seen a lot of these types of videos, but this is the best by far. Downloaded most of these apps. Top class video
Wow! Thanks, I was looking for a web browser like Orion!
As a windows power user and mac complete newb, I just wanted to say "Thank you!" for the valuable Information.
I haven't used Onyx in quite a while, but back in the day it was one of the first things I would install on a new Mac. I am glad you mentioned this one, I need to go grab it again.
I always find a new app to use in your videos. Thanks for Shottr this time!
Great apps. In your comment area where you mention the apps, e.g. 07:07 - Raycast, would you mind also giving just a very brief description of what it does? I know I can go to the timecode and listen to it again, but it would be so handy if the description was just there. Thanks.
Downloaded and bought Dropover straight away, thank you so much!
Later is a life saver for the numerous times in the day I want to go back to a clean desktop! Thanks! You gained a sub! Greetings from 🇬🇷
This is my favorite video of this series - very well done!
I wanna know what widgets you have in your menu bar! They all look like ones I would use too!
16:52 What is the app Quinn is using to monitor his power usage? I can't seem to find a setting that turns that sort of thing on on neither iStat Menus nor Sensei. Or is there really any app that does this on Apple Silicon Macs (I think iStat Menus might only be able to do it on Intel Macs)?
Just want to mention MonitorControl for the screen brightness. It do both software and hardware brightness control
Never heard of shottr, but grabbed it straight away because it is simply freaking awesome.
I did not know about the spacebar shortcut when screenshotting a window with CMD+Shift+4! Thanks for that.
Dropover is one of theeee best apps - so incredibly useful!!! Shottr is getting downloaded RN!
Wow this is the first time in ca 20 years on Mac that all the apps are new to me and most of them useful! Great video!
One of the best Mac tip videos I have seen. Thank you. Shared with the whole company!!
Thanks for the suggestions! FYI the Hand Mirror link in your description didn't work, for some reason. Super helpful info-I appreciate it!
