i really don't think the truckers are gonna make the history books. However, hundreds of years from now people WILL still be learning about the hundreds of millions who died from this horrible pandemic.
And i keep seeing this word "tyranny" thrown around in this comment section. I'm not sure a lot of these commentors know what tyranny means. This whole demonstration was about a few truckers' opposition to getting a covid vaccination before crossing the border. I'm not sure if ppl realize that you can't even visit many countries without having proof of certain vaccines/innoculations. Nor enroll in public schools for that matter.
I'm an american, & we've got our share of antivaxxers here too. But that doesn't mean i want ppl coming over the border who are potentially spreading corona virus. What if i said - "hey a bunch of workers from a country where there's an ebola pandemic are coming to Canada but they refuse to get vaccinated for it"? You wouldn't consider it tyranny then if your gov't tried to protect you & your families by stopping them from coming until they were vaccinated right?

I feel a bit sad we didn't do it in the States first.
But in the States, truckers were not really under any crazy pressure. I was working with a small company, my company never cared if I get vaxed, so I didn't. I was rolling continuously for the last two years - no problem.

The citizens want everyone to do their part to keep our hospitals from overflowing. They are not with these truckers. It's silly to call it freedom - in society there are all sorts of rules in place to benefit our neighbors, not ourselves.

"That which you resist persists" is a phrase that comes to mind. Or "What if a war gets declared and nobody shows up". That sort of thing. Get out of the system and lets make a new, more anarchic, type of society. Stop playing other people's games, start living life simply and by your own rules...guided by peaceful presence as opposed to automatic egoic thinking. Again, you need to learn this via CBT and/or spirituality. Make no mistake, we have been hypnotized and brainwashed for generations. F-ck the government, they are not our friends and never will be. As a grandpa and retired truck driver in western Canada, I can I know what you are feeling.
My emotions have become so raw and the numbness of dealing with the last two years has faded.
These selfless souls have lit the torch for us all, including our grandchildren.
No one will ever be able to repay them.
