I enjoy the Shopnotes podcast and FW shop talk pod so it’s neat to have you all together. I suppose change is always a hard thing for those of us a bit set in our ways. But this can be a great opportunity for sure. My only hope is that Fine Woodworking doesn’t lose its “journal” of the craft feel. It’s one of the things I really appreciate about the magazine. The transmission of high level skill to the next generation and journaling those skills throughout time. My interest is more about making fine furniture rather than smaller projects, so Fine Woodworking has always really appealed to me. I love learning from the masters of our craft. Thank you all.

Should we be concerned that there hasn’t been a new podcast or new tools segment for 4 weeks?

We let everyone know it'd be that long for the podcast on this very show. We always take a show off at this time of year.
Sadly, Fine Woodworking News is on hiatus until we have the resources to do it again.

I’m guessing Wood, Woodcraft and Woodworkers Journal are off limits……due to their independent publishing and corporate origin but I’m not counting AIM out. Thank you for the human touch and acknowledgment of the two people losing their jobs at FW and I appreciate that the Shopnotes podcast did the same in their comment section. Maybe I just like getting mail but like many of us, I subscribe to all the publications I can find on the craft and yet I still don’t know why I subscribe to Woodshop News since I’ve nothing to do with cabinet shops…..

Paste wax works great on caste iron. It protects against moisture plus is a great lubricant. The surface will be quote slippery.

That's it! Big Woodworking has taken over the world of craft. We are doomed. Just kidding. Hoping it works out to the benefit of all of us woodworkers and subscribers. Mazel tov!

I think like most wood workers I watch both podcast and read every magazine I can get. Pop wood, fine wood, shopnotes, whatever. I think this merger will be a cool thing. I enjoyed watching this one and the interaction and respect you have for each other. After all we are all wood workers and we are all at different skill levels and learning. We learn and are inspired by each other. I enjoy watching both podcast because there is always something that makes me think. A big thanks to you guys for keeping it interesting, light hearted, and humorous. Isn't it all about enjoying the craft?

I love woodworking and being able to talk about it with a wider group.
