All I needed to hear was Rollie Johnson telling me I need 'at least' three bandsaws.
Before getting my bandsaw (set up in progress - this episode was AWESOME), I've had to make long rip cuts in thick wood such as eight or 10 quarter. The table saw kerfs will help for the following handsaw work. What I do, is set a timer for say 10 minutes. That way, I know after a bit the timer will go off. Will take a bunch of 10 minute sessions but I've found breaking it up this way really mentally helps make this more dooable.

On the locust..... Rip the boards to 6.5" wide and then resaw those two planks. A 13" wide board is most likely going to cup outside, anyway. A sawzall?? Only has a 1" stroke, so no matter what blade you use is going to clog the gullets and not clear-- the gullets are always going to be buried in rhe plank.
