    do you know if any in the collection are imported or all from aussie artists?

      Great question. From what I could see on the name plates, all trees were started in Australia.

    my opinion is that tanuki is 'cheating' and strays into ikebana (probably too harsh) -- using wood that is not of the original tree moves away from what I think bonsai is-- but using rocks to create is ok

      I agree. I don’t like tanuki as well but it was difficult to tell if tanuki or not without examining the tree closer. Thanks for your comments.
