*Ryo is a God Tier vocalist - we wish him all the best!*
FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!! CRYSTAL LAKE RIP RIGHT NOW IN THIS MOMENT!!! IF THEY DON'T SIGN CONTRACT WITH WILL RAMOS OR TOM BARBER OR Kyle Anderson or 桂佑 (Keisuke from DEVILOOF) - THEY WILL FUCKTED UP ALREADY!!!!
RYO WAS BE SUCH A FOKING BRILLIANT IN THIS SCENE!!!! BRILLIANT VOCALIST!! BEST EXTREME VOCALIST IN JAPAN!!!!
@@Nintendofeel Tom is with Darko and Grin lol give them the time they need to recoup. No rushing progress with bands dude.
@@Nintendofeel Perhaps try chilling out and laying off the caps lock.
Not gonna lie, this hurts 😢 I fucking wish nothing but the best for him
@@CertifiedSunset NO, THANKS ;) AND I AM CHILL WITH CAPS LOCK, JUST CHILL OUT MAN ;)
I hope Ryo finds some peace 🕊️ He's the man and it sucks to be suffering from a disorder you can't control :'-(
Did he wake up gay or something?
@@crimsonhawk4912 ow God.. I shouldn't,but that shit almost made me choke on my cereal
@@crimsonhawk4912 haha gay joke in a situation about mental illness. hilarious
@@crimsonhawk4912 damn you’re a funny one aren’t you
@@crimsonhawk4912 come up with funnier material
Heartbreaking, ryo was irreplacable. He will be missed.
CJ McCreery was "irreplaceable" in Lorna Shore as well...
Never underestimate a great band's ability to attract more greatness.
Regardless, Ryo's the fucking man.
@@Joose that actually reasures me. Thanks dude. Yea cj was awesome, now we have will who is also awesome. Maybe we will fet another great vocalist. Still ryo is one of my favs, his voice change me and alot of people
@@Joose Tom Barber (Chelsea Grin/Darko) was the original vocalist for Lorna Shore not Cj.
@@FLmetalhead ryo wasn't crystal lake's original vocalist either
@@matthewhughes5619 oh really? I haven’t listened to them very much so I don’t know their history.
Saw them live a couple years back on their first ever show in Australia, touring with polaris, Ryo's energy on stage is unmatched, wildest band I've ever seen live, sucks that he's leaving but I wish him the best and hope he overcomes his personal troubles
I was at the Melbourne show when they came absolutely incredible
Saw them live on tour with Currents, Northlane and Erra. They were the opener but they brought so much damn energy and stage presence I felt like they should have been the headliner. One of the most impressive live sets I've ever seen.
what a lineup tho, would've sold my kidney to be there - crystal lake included
Crystal Lake > Erra > Currents > Northlane. All bands are insane tho. What an insane Tour!
That was such a good tour and I also saw them a second time with fit for a king and it was right before the lockdown.
Same!
Same I saw them all in Charlotte, NC. I was actually going to see ERRA and Northlane, Crystal Lake absolutely killed it! I got a shirt and all the bands signed it. I will never wash or wear that shirt, especially now with what's going on. Man, that was such a good show!! Cheers and much love from NC! 🤘🏼🇺🇸🤘🏼
This one hit hard! 😢 He quickly became one of my favorite vocalists in metal. I wish only the best for him. 🤘🏻🖤
I felt so sad too.
It's extremely difficult for them to find a vocalist who fits the band and surppasses him. But I'm also happy that they chose to move move forward with a new vocalist whether it's a good decision or not. Into the great beyond🤘
Ryo is such a G. I met him when TWA played a show in Indonesia. Crystal Lake played before us and it was tough to follow that performance up. But we all kicked it and had a great time after the show even though we could hardly understand eachother haha! One of my fondest memories of touring tbh. Both times we played Japan after that Ryo came out to say hey and catch up. Truly a good dude. I wish him nothing but the best. he deserves it.
Extremely thankful I was able to see them pre-covid. I wish nothing but the best for him but damn this sucks to hear. ❤️
Nik ur the reason I discovered Crystal Lake, it sucks Ryo leaving but wish him all the best
I literally cried when I heard about ryo cuz fck man, it's so freaking hard to replace him
I hope one day he finds peace and wants to come back to Crystal Lake. The emotion he puts in his work is fucking beautiful. I can’t picture this band with anyone else.
This was sad indeed , his vocals are unmatched , and really a rare talent. Hope he's doing okay 🙏 rooting for him !
This one really hurts. I've said it a bunch of times since the announcement. I really hope Ryo gets the help he needs and CL finds a suitable replacement. They won't be the same without him.
I was reading something like this about Mike Patton after the epidemic. He really went through some stuff also after all the quarantine and lockdowns and it opened up so much anxiety and agoraphobia. He was saying he's working through it but there were times where he didn't even want to open his eyes anymore
Damn, man... I had tickets to see them back in 2020, but covid took that opportunity away. It was going to be my first time seeing them live. Now, seeing them with Ryo will likely never happen? That sucks!
I am so so so happy that Ryo is taking care of himself. Self-care is easily the most important thing when you are struggling with a disorder like that. I commend him for having the strength to make what I am sure was an extremely difficult decision like this. What an absolute legend.
No one can replace Ryo, but I have full trust that Crystal Lake will be able to bounce back from this. They have so much talent on that band. I can't speak for everyone, but I know I will be there cheering them on when they're ready to continue.
Adjustment Disorder is toughhh. I'm a Clin Psych doctoral student and can explain like this: An individuals ability to deal with stressors deteriorates to the point of becoming incredibly maladaptive. Basically the "normal or logical" coping mechanism people use break down and the person's stress reaction to tough life events gets shot through the roof to the point that it effects their ability to function at all in day to day life.
The cause can be genetic, an accumulation of stressor experiences, or temperament based, but ultimately the etiology or cause doesn't really matter. If you notice your stress reaction to struggles in your life areessentially crippling your ability to do things and tanking your mood levels then taking a step back to get out of your primary stressor activities and rebuild is the most beneficial thing you can do.
I feel so much when it comes to mental health and stepping back. I hope Ryo and everyone finds their peace and everyone can move one and make some dope ass music!
Happy to have at least seen them once live. Ryo had so much energy on stage
They are (or were) my favorite metalcore band as well, with Ryo being my favorite vocalist. He left the band exactly on my birthday. Anyway, of course he did right on leaving, so sad about that disgraceful disease he has
Dang I've been getting into their music lately. Wish him all the best, and the band!
Hopefully Ryo can work out his situation and find some peace.
I was skeptical at first, but I'm sure there are people capable of filling his role. When Lorna Shore kicked out CJ, I thought they were done for sure, but look at them now, they found someone even better! I'm sure Crystal Lake will find someone else.
They will find someone but never find someone as good as ryo was
Crystal Lake on their combined talent alone will be just fine. But it's not often you find a vocalist that just commands the stage and the crowd like he does. Very reminiscent of a metalcore Freddie Mercury. The band will be fine but literally NO ONE should expect to find his replacement. Think Northlane 2.0.
Will being better than CJ LMAO. Will isn't half as good as CJ and I was never even a Lorna Shore fan ever. CJ was a beast in Signs of the Swarm and even better in the only song he's put out with Immortal Disfigurement. Will is ass.
@@kingkeltic4228 imo will worked better in Lorna than CJ, but in Signs of The Swarm CJ was irreplaceable, i physically can't listen to their newer songs without CJ's voice.
They’ll be fine. He was their second vocalist.
Bruh. I can't discribe how disappointed I am rn. I feel so sorry for Ryo. I've been listening to their music for a while and didn't know they were on hiatus and it hurts so much to see someone with talent suffer so much from something they can't control. I wish him all the best.
This was probably the most I've every cared about someone leaving a band. I only recently discovered Crystal Lake in the past year so I never even had the feeling of excitement for a new album or even a tour that woukd take them near me. I have become such a fan of Ryo's that he quickly became one of the people I want to meet in life. I like most of Crystal Lakes songs and most of the collaborations Ryo has done with other bands. I've even gone and helped update Crystal Lake's Wikipedia page. While I could talk about how I feel this sucks for me, I actually look at it as how grateful I am for the band and for Ryo in particular for making my love for Crystal Lake so significant that this affects me as strongly as it does. I sincerely hope that Ryo is able to overcome his challenges with his mental health and I await his continued contributions to the metalcore scene. I also am rooting for whoever fills his place. While Ryo will never be able to be replaced, I hope the new vocalist will be able to add new life to the band the way that Ryo did when he filled the shoes of Kentaro Nishimura.
Saw CL a few years ago in Minneapolis, and got to meet Ryo. The show was incredible, and Ryo was the nicest chillest dude.
I was lucky enough to play with them when they came to the US and can confirm they have a ton of respect and dignity and are very humble. The fact that they made that the first point is excellent. Ryo is definitely a huge hole to fill. It'll be interesting to see who they choose.
I'm glad to have been able to see them in detroit a few years ago, they killed it. I hope he finds peace and hopefully continues to make music even if he isn't going to perform live anymore.
Never had the opportunity to see them live. I'm so sad 😭
I fortunately got to see them live in 2019 and they smashed me right into metalcore. So sorry for Ryo, I hope he would find his inner peace
As he said he's been suffering from this illness for five years, then the live performance I saw was just in that time period, and his performance was insanely great.
oh no! this is heartbreaking news :(. This will definitely go down as my biggest band to not see live with Ryo :'(. I hope he finds what he needs outside this incredible band.
Never got into Crystal Lake tbh.
But I can’t deny their talent.
Hope he’ll get better
I saw Crystal Lake at the Tivoli in Brisbane. Honestly one of the MOST insane vocals I have ever heard live. Ryo also cross surfed like a badass up to the second tier, then fucking JUMPED off. It was nuts
Pk from Prompts would fit perfectly in Crystal Lake. Also the vocalist of Nocturnal Bloodlust and the vocalist of FOAD, a very underrated Japanese Metalcore band
I’ve seen FOAD live once they opened for While She Sleeps that show. Fuck they were good.
I wish RYO all the best! Health is above all, even career! Sending lots of love and positive emotions! 🙏🤍
I’m so happy I got to see them in Sydney Australia 2021
Seeing the latest news from months ago, I am not surprised.
And honestly, I am hoping that Ryo gets better 🖤
Wish Ryo all the best, im happy for the bangers we got along the way
Aww man, I wanted to hear some more
The first time I heard Ryo was on his song w/ Spiritbox. Knew he was top tier from then on. Sucks to hear it!
I'm just happy to hear it wasn't because he was cancelled for something messed up
when I saw that I couldn’t believe it I was very heartbroken bc I really wanted to watch Crystal Lake live one day and just sing along. And what’s even more crazy a week before this happened I showed my friends who Crystal Lake was and they loved it. An now this happened it just breaks my heart. Ryo is a fucking TOP TIER GOD on singing/screaming 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 Crystal Lake will forever be my favorite band!🤍
I'm gunna miss him. He was a great frontman to a great metalcore band. I wish him all the best
I wish him the best. I kind of understand what he's going through, and damn, it's hard.
This still hits in the feels, Ryo, what a legend!
Was meant to see them for the first time this Feb but it was cancelled and i’m guessing this is part of the reason now. One of my favourite vocalists ever and i’m absolutely gutted I’ll never see him now. Hope he finds a way to improve his quality of life despite the disorder
Never heard of Adjustment Disorder. Hope he starts feeling the way he wants to be feeling. Who knows, maybe he will be back one day, but if not, thanks for the art you gave us. Lucky enough to have seen you guys live when you toured with ABR and FFAK.
Really sucks cause I just found about them recently and was looking forward to new stuff.
i cant believe i didnt see them live once, been my favorite band since 2018 and this is so fucking sad, i cant believe i'll never see that beast live again with CL 😭
Anyway, it was the best call, health comes first as always. Hope he recovers and finds some peace
Man, was hoping to get to see them one day... at least with Ryo. Didn't get into them until just over a year ago, and they quickly moved up my list of favorite new bands.
Wish him the best, and interested in what he does next. But will still keep an ear out for some new Crystal Lake, and give them a fair chance.
Dillinger's Escape Plan did well with a new singer, imo. So possible to still excel.
The vocalists names Nik is mentioning are PK of Prompts, Kagami of Dexcore and Hiro from Nocturnal Bloodlust, in case anyone cares.
Thank you!
Honestly at the opening I thought you were going to say that he passed away, so I'm really relieved that he's still around and hopefully going to have a wonderful life ahead. What a loss for metal though, they're one of my favorite bands! It'll be really difficult to find a vocalist to match his energy, I hope they take some time to find the right fit.
Lately i have been listening to crystal Lake a lot... so much energy he brings...this is sad
12:52 after reading that I immediately thought of Dexcore's and Nocturnal Bloodlust's vocal as well. Interesting to see how this all works out and who they end up choosing though...
On a more important note... My man Ryo, I hope everything will get better for you and you are able to find peace within.
Such a passionate human being... And no one deserves to suffer like that.
I'm absolutely confident they can find a kick@ss vocalist. Plenty of amazingly talented metal bands from Japan / vocalists from Japan.
What a bummer. +81 & Hail to the fire are some of my favourite heavy songs of the last few years.
I was so shocked when I saw Ryo's statement. Much love to Ryo and Crystal Laks
I'm only 15 and got into crystal lake 3 years ago. I love them and especially Ryo. His vocals are insane, he has so much energy on stage too I just love it. I've always wanted to see them live but never got the chance too. I hope Ryo gets better, it will be hard to replace a god tier vocalist like him.
Saw Crystal Lake a few years ago in Moscow before they started headlining, so awesome live. I hope Ryo gets better!
Into the great beyond has been my most played song for the past 2 years. Sad to hear him leave but I hope he finds some peace again and is able to recover🙏🏼💛
I do believe that Crystal Lake will find a new vocalist. Somewhere out there is a dude that lives and breathes all that Ryo is and will be able grow with the band.
Regardless, Ryo will be missed 😔 best of luck to Ryo and Crystal Lake 💪🏽
Was supposed to see CL in March 2020 (then the funniest thing happened lol) and I'm gutted I may never see Ryo perform in that context, if ever at all, but I wish him nothing best in his recovery and will support anything he channels his energy into moving forward
Get better soon RYO - we love you.
I wonder if the vocalist from Prompts will join. Prompts is basically Crystal Lake lite. The vocalist from Dexcore is crazy talented too.
I saw them live in Bratislava few years back, playing before PWD, and man, the energy, the performance, the music... the best pre-band I ever saw. Wish you all the best, Ryo!
Crystal Lake got me into metalcore, so it really hits to see Ryo go. I wish him the best, hope to maybe still see him around on some features or something.
I am amazed that Nik knows Nocturnal Bloodlust! One of my most favorite Japanese bands.
July 15, 2021-September 29th, 2022 (14 months, 14 days)… Mephisto was the latest song to drop since then… Hope Ryo recovers, wish him all the best AND I hope for the best of the band as well when they are out there journeying on with potentially another vocalist. It could just be temporary though, as someone mentioned in chat during the video..
Masato Hayakawa from Coldrain would be pretty lit if he were looking to do a second project. He's also already in Japanese and knows fluent English and Japanese. Not to mention has an equally expansive vocal library
I was just wondering where the annual two single EP was...and then I saw the instagram posts. Wishing him the best but man will I miss him.
this is honestly so sad to see, I wish them all the best
I have gad so this hit way too fucking close to home, for what its worth I hope you get well soon.
Yeah, I was thinking about Dexcore vocalist at first, but Nocturnal Bloodlust is fire as well, I wanna hear more new music from them. Sad about Ryo, wish he will overcome his troubles at some point(
; _____ ;
Man I hope hes okay,
Aeon was my most played song last year.
I really like their God of Fire featurette with Fit for a King. I saw them live and never will forget it.
Tragic, I saw him live on the Danger Tour with Miss May I, Fit For A King and August Burns Red. And I believe he worked on a song that was used for the opening of Season 2 of the anime Fire Force, it was lit!
Damn.. i sadly didnt get to see crystal lake live with ryo.. Love crystal lake to death.. the music is so amazing.
Damn. I LOVE Crystal Lake.
I saw Crystal lake for their first tour in the US with August burns red. They were incredible. Sad to see this happen
I found Crystal Lake through Coldrain which I found through the second OP of the anime Fire Force. The song is called Mayday ft. Ryo Kinoshita. I'm sad that he's not going to be in the scene anymore.
Noooooooooo what! I've been into these guys since 2013 and never got the chance to see them, absolutely fucking GUTTED. Ryo is one of my all time favourite vocalists.
Probably the most brutal I've heard Ryo sound was in the Dali Thundering Concept song The Sea Starts Here
I'm still not over this... :(
彼らも、Ryoさんも必ずパワーアップして帰ってくるはず
So glad I knew Crystal Lake from 2006. Ryo is an amazing vocalist, easily in my top 10. Sad that his story with Crystal Lake has come to an end after a decade. But I have high hopes for whomever the new vocalist is. Yes it’ll feel weird not hearing Ryo’s vocals on the next Crystal Lake track.
I was fortunate enough to see them live in slc with FFAK and ABR
hope he finds peace
I honestly haven’t got to much into them as a band. The only song I really have listened to on repeat is Hades from their album. The sign and it’s a banger. But coming from the side of a fan of Japanese music. What Iv learned from him was that he loved by many other bands and artists. Iv seen him featured on different styles of rock to punk and hardcore. From my first story to. Swanky dank to underground hardcore bands. I definitely recommend watch him at Japanese shows. Playing with. SiM one ok rock and coldrain was a solid feature . It’s great. It’s sad to see him go. And when it comes to the Japanese scene. He helped bring another rise to a lot of people about metal from Japan. Also for metalcore too. He has been a big impact to the scene and I’m happy they got the recognition they highly deserve.
i subbed because of this vid , ive been watching you for years..............
Man this sucks. I just started to get into crystal lake. I hope nothing but the best for Ryo.
Seeing them live made me fan. Had no idea who they were and they destroyed my face.
sad panda. I wish ryo and crystal lake all the best moving forward. health comes first. sad I never got the chance to experience crystal lake during the ryo years.
The drummer is a former member of Nocturnal Bloodlust, so would not be suprised to see the vocalist joining as well.. still devastating tho, I grew up with this group (aside of the GazettE, girugamesh, coldrain..), I hope Ryo will be fine, he's an incredible vocalist, also hope the group will fine the good person ❤️
ryo was freaking awesome i will miss his vocals in crystal lake and his features on tracks
Really sad to see Ryo leave Crystal Lake. Hope the best for him and Crystal Lake
Vocalist from C -Gate or sailing before the wind are also really good ones to be in crystal lake and are japanese metalcore bands.
This is so sad man..I don't know what to say goddamn it, like what fxck just happen please god give him back to us 😭😭😭
Sad to see Ryo leave them, hope he finds peace with his disorder. Also, while I doubt they will find anyone else at Ryo's level, I hope they can find someone very close
Love Ryo, like Nik said
It feels impossible to try an think of a replacement that could replicate Ryos energy. I Think I'll be looking into this disorder more as well, I can relate with alot of the problems he mentioned in his letter, All respect to him for making it this far, I definitely don't think this will be the end though
I mean, still hit him up. If he struggles with the structure of a touring band, a smaller project could be more manageable. If he want to continue making music of course. If he doesn't, we be sad, but we respect it. Much love his way.
I mean once he sorts his stuff out, he would be an amazing feature vocalist on any and all projects. He can easily still make his bag as a studio musician and just write/record vocals from home for a career
This is so difficult to believe but I wish him the best with his state and life. Im worried that this will be yet another band I cannot get into anymore with a change in vocalist like this. Years back, one of favorite Japanese bands, Serenity In Murder, went through the same stuff, and Emi was out of the band. To this day, I still cannot get into any song from the new chick. I just cant. And the same happened to me with Fallujah, although there are now some songs I do like from the new guy. You get used to the style and sound of the vocalist, that when someone with less range and tone in their highs or lows come in...I just find it way too difficult and not because of comparing them only, mainly because I find it hard to believe the new vocal style fits the band like the previous one did, only speaking for myself here.
I just discovered them this year this sucks. I was hyped for the singles that came out for a possible new album.
He could step away to get help for the time being and recover, it'll take time but the probably of getting better and managing it is relatively high
