Nice video. Definitely miss the 727. Wishful thinking on wishing Boeing would build a new 727. The two engine airplane market is here to stay. All three holers are gone, except in corporate aviation with the Falcon 900 and 7X. Thanks for sharing these great memories.
Why can't they paint airliners like this anymore? I miss these old liveries! Ryan I owe you a cold drink at the bar of your choice someday for all these amazing videos.
727 has ALWAYS (and still is) been my favorite plane. I purposely flew Champion Air from MSP to LAS in Aug, 07 and rented a car to LA just so I could fly on them a couple more times... That being said, they did tend to especially have trouble getting up from high runways and heat didn't help. By stark contrast, the 727 takeoff footage on here at LAX which is barely above sea level have much shorter takeoff rolls. I had a very interesting takeoff on a NWA 727 from RNO some years back... I know they knew what they were doing and it had EVERYTHING to do with the winds... BUT... we took off on runway 7 heading east towards terrain that gets high very fast and it seemed almost as if you could reach out and touch the ground at times. I knew better... what a trip!!! (That was fun...)
@@RyanBomar I had the extreme fortune of working on one of HA’s old L-1011 before she went to scrap. I wished I had taken more pics of her and all of the crew we worked with on those flights
LOVE THE VIDEO...BY GOD THESE B727s ARE HEAVY..MUST BE FULLY LOADED!!
What a nice view of all those classic three-holers ! Beautiful !! I miss them !!!
Nothing like a good ole 727!! Never will there be anything else like it!!
TOP VIDEO..EXCELLENT

I really miss those days for many reasons. I had just finished my first semester in college.

Great to see the old 727's in action. The best looking planes to ever take to the skies. And they never looked better than in the classic AA livery.
The 727-200
The most beautiful jetliner ever, miss the roar of 3 JT8D's; spotting at LAX was the best...
Ryan, thanks for uploading these videos of the best era in commercial aviation!
Love the sound of those old JT-8s
Best days of the jet age. Now, A320s and 737s all the time.
Muito obrigada por enviar videos de 1989, os aviões já eram muito rápidos, bonitos e voavam com muita elegância. Obrigada, com amizade Milabluelady.
727 heaven this!
I TOTALLY agree the 727 was BEST EVER
AA MD80 looks brand new there.
That TWA 727 was TERRIFIED of the sky.
Wow - that first TWA 727 took up about 6,000 feet before rotating. Must have been a full bird.
Pretty shallow climb too, as compared to the other 72's in this video.
@1:46 - God I miss those birds in our Hawaiian skies! @2:22 THE BEST NW livery….EVER
I sure miss them over here in the Mainland as well.

I wish Lockheed would start building airliners again.
Best plane boeing ever made, they need to build a new 2 man crew 727-300!!! Cmon boeing get your head out of your azz!
good as always
thank you for this.
TWA 727-231 must have been heavily load.
yeah
How far away is that terrain? Looks a little disconcerting from this angle. :-)
Was thinking the same thing.
Nice.
Nothing has changed. McCarran is still a boring spotting place. Lots of 727s that were replaced with LOTS of 737s.
