I am an enabler. It's kind of funny because I don't care if anybody does a shout out. It is more about getting the right tools into peoples hands to help them on their journey. I think about one of my more recent upgrades of Jorgenson clamps, and just how much it helped me to work on things. My hope is that is what happens to others. ❤
Oh my goodness!!! When you announced that you were about to work on Lane side tables, I was on high alert, ⚠️ , as in if I had antennas, they would have been twitching back and forth... (space humor for space race time) I have inherited some acclaim pieces and a couple of cedar chests. I just love mid-century Lane and it was so fabulous to see you return them to glory!!!
The acclaim pieces with the dove tail veneer inlay are super cool. I really want a round acclaim side table. Everyone knows about them that owns one now so its relatively difficult to get one even in fixer upper condition for a decent price. I keep waiting though. Eventually I will find one!! 😌
@@ReconstructingEmily I have the round hexagon base table!!! You are right about eventually finding one at the right price, as people are downsizing and they and their family don't have a clue about what they are getting rid of... edited for spelling.
Ironing table? Yes, oh heck, while you were spraying, it definitely reminded me of my Great-Auntie, who fricking starched everything... I frequently had to snatch away my underwear, as did my Dad and other family members!!! 😀🤣😄
I just imagine all the clothes looking perfect on the hangers in the closet, but when you take them off they still look like they're on a hanger. 😀Sounds comfortable...
Love how they turned out! Wish I had watched this before trying BKF on a table. Because of the other products in it, my stain would not take 😭 Thanks for showing the Howard's wax over the completed piece. Never knew you could put it on over the seal. Will be checking out more of your videos 😉
Super helpful, thanks. I've got a brand new carbide scraper, but have been a little intimidated by it, and your work with it helps a bunch with that. Cheers!
These are great restorations. I really like Lane furniture and always enjoy seeing it brought back to life. Excellent work Emily. Glad to see you back. I hope you are well and have a wonderful New Year
Happy New Year, Emily🥂 These tables are beautiful. I love that they don’t match but they go together. It makes my eclectic maximalist heart happy. Thank you for addressing the issue of Barkeeper’s Friend on wood surfaces. I cringe every time I see someone doing that. I think it’s lovely and kind of you to support other furniture channels the way you do. That also makes my heart happy.🌸
There are things to paint and things to not paint. These definately fall way into the do not paint category. The walnut veneer on both pieces - so beautiful and a joy to see come back to life. ❤
That is interesting! I prefer the 1966 table because of the curved up edge. That would be useful for my cats who like to push things off the table. These are both awesome though. Such good quality builds!
Really liked the commentary as you went. Those are amazing beautiful pieces of furniture I suppose you found them in a dump somewhere or a thrift store
Actually both were on facebook market place! One I had a hunch - (the 1966) and it came from a storage locker cleanout. I could see the jointery on the curved sides and the inlay in their listing pictures. The art deco style was from a lady who was redecorating her house (indicated they were going to refinish but never did.) She knew what the table was but also knew its condition. I've only been seeing the Lane cedar chests and some of the particle board stuff in the Thrift stores lately.
Wow, those are beautiful! Did you refinish them for your own home? And thanks for the tips! I enjoy your videos because they're funny, interesting, And informative. Happy New Year!
Thank you Alicia! I am probably going to try to sell them as a pair. They are totally different styles but there are some collectors in my area. If they don't sell within two months though. I am probably going to claim the Asian inspired one for myself and replace my existing side table. We shall see! Happy New Year!
Excellent job on this restoration! They both turned out good as new. I might need oxalic acid for a project soon. Question for you, can the extra liquid go down the drain or does it have to be disposed of some other way?
Thank you! Further dilute it and then add baking soda. It will neutralize it. I rinse it down the drain with water flowing after the baking soda has had its opportunity to work its magic. It isn't classified as a hazardous waste product.
Honey Badger 😂. I keep hearing your name on other channels where they give you a shout out and a thank you for gifts. You are truly kind!
That she is!!!

You saved two beautiful tables and let their wood tones shine through; what an incredible job.
Thank you 😊

Wow I love that you left them natural they turned out beautiful.
Thank you! The lane side table builds are heavy solid pieces. I hope these last 70+ more years!

The tables look great. It's really cool how well the art deco table blends with mid century modern.
Thank you! Lane furniture styling around this time was excellent.
Those tables turned out beautifully! I love them, and would proudly show them off in my home.
Thank you Kay! 😊 💓
The tables turned out beautifully! Those styles really are timeless. Love them!
I love them both. Such beautiful and thoughtful design features!
Beautiful tables, Emily! You did a lovely job!
Thank you so much!!!
Turned out super nice! Love the staging and the lamp ;-)
😀 Just for you my friend! Thank you 😊
Wow these turned out perfect. The stains seem like they would be intimidating but you saved that surface
Beautiful restoration Emily. These tables are lovely
Thank you Sarah! 😊

Howards is really good for polishing after a high grit sanding of a finish. Thanks for watching Ginger!
Emily you did a beautiful job on that piece
Thank you Kathleen! 😊
Those are gorgeous! I ❤️❤️❤️ those end tables! A lot of patients and knowledge!
Fabulous job!
Thank you Rhonda 😊

Some finished are more difficult to remove
, but all you can do it be patient with yourself and take your time. Start with flat surfaces too!
Beautiful job Emily.
Thank you Tracy!

Awesome as usual!
Haha. Arm r seal is an absolute dream! Highly recommend after using it on three projects!
Beautiful.💙
Beautiful. So happy you did not paint them.

These are gorgeous. Nice job! They're both beautiful but I think i prefer the shape of the 49 one to the 66...they're both great though.

I. Love watching you

Happy New Year Grammy Bear!
Nice tables! I haven't tried it but I've been curious if manonise can remove the water marks.
Bob Vila has an article on this, but he makes it seem as though you would apply it to the finish and not the raw wood. Interesting!
@@ReconstructingEmily yeah I didn't know if a person could use it on a finished surface before sanding if the stain would be reduced or not.
The carbide scraper worked so well! Almost as well as oven cleaner! (Too soon? 😂😂)
Hahahahahaha! I knew I could count on you for this 😀
Honey badger reference :)
Carbide scraper don't care! It scrapes whatever it wants!
I. Saw. Drink. Coasters. lol!
