Heyyyy, just got my first snake as well last week and it’s a little hognose as well. What did you end up naming yours? Mine is ghost cause he’s a white morph one.
Your in trouble now 😮 I hope Gabby doesn’t hear you mention that that other Gabbon was the most beautiful colors you have ever seen 😂 or she’s going to bite you 😂
Was cool to see that all the Eyelash Vipers were labeled under the new scientific name for the Costa Rican species, Bothriechis nigroadspersus. When the paper dropped earlier this year splitting Bothriechis schlegelii into 11 different species, I was worried what it would mean for the captive populations and accidental hybridization, but it seems that most if not all of the Eyelash Vipers in captivity originated from stock out of Costa Rica, so hopefully they are all pure B. nigroadspersus. I know a few of the major AZA zoos are planning on DNA testing their Eyelash Vipers to be certain of what they have.
Nice video. I had to give up my venomous collection because of terminal cancer at age 42 I'll only have year left. So it's nice to see videos and Stay bit connected to the hobby. I did keep some boiga hognose and got pair of Gastropholis Prasina CB 23. But I miss the venomous a lot . Lucky people getting the beauty's. 😅
I watching. Trying to desensitise after my latest meeting with a 'red belly' black snake. In far north Queensland Australia. I opened door and put a foot out and the snake kinda flew past me, from a corner where it was hunting geckos. It landed next to a palm and used the palm to flick, or throw itself again, past me to the far side of my screen door. I never saw a snake go stiff and throw itself like that. None of previous red bellies have done more than slither quickly away. That one rolled and showed me its stomach, and was stiff in the middle for about a metre. Then it would flick, or throw itself some distance. Finally, it turned over, raised its head and looked at me, through the door, p3rfectly black face. It threw itself and went under the fence. and i realised it wasn't a baby python! Its belly was white pattern , outlined in black. I'm assured its poisonous but not territorial. And red bellied black snakes often have the white pattern. What was that strange movement it was doing?
That sand colored one was really cool looking hopefully you keep that yeah I've considered buying a couple of those cuz they're not really that hot and they're easy to keep super pretty
You should do a video on how you prop or identify the sex of the snakes. Honestly, I know how to do it on pythons and colubrids, but I am wondering how you do it safely on a venomous snake.
Just started to watch this, and I’m no expert. But isn’t a primary Best Practice to keep the spicy noodles in a separate structure from children? The infant toys in the background raised my concern.
I've noticed on this channel that the lighting is often dim. It would go a long way for production to invest in better lights so we can see the beauty of these animals.
This was filmed at my friend's house last second, unfortunately his lighting wasn't very good and I forgot to bring my lighting equipment. Future videos should be brighter.
So, I've watched a few of your videos. And you definitely have some beautiful snakes. But I have an honest question. And I mean no disrespect by it whatsoever. I'm just genuinely curious. Why do you keep venomous snakes as pets? Is it the flirt with death? I mean, I totally get it if it's your profession (e.g. milking venom for medical purposes) But you're not going to cuddle on the couch and watch a movie with Steve, Gabby, or any other of your deadly animals. Again, no disrespect, just curious. You may have answered this question in a previous video and I just missed it.
I don't own any snakes, but I grew up with them. My mother was a wildlife rehabilitator licensed mostly to mammals and "rabies vector species", but she was constantly called for snakes and had a friend who handled them... It was his passion. I realize that this is hard to understand for a lot of people, his life was snakes. He rescued them, paid for them, cared for them and loved them. The fact that you can't cuddle with it shouldn't be a determining factor. He finds joy in this. I don't understand people who sit in an office all day, but I don't question them.
Its a different way of keeping pets. Good venomous snake keepers dont want to touch them, they just want to appreciate and learn more about them. Its sort of like keeping fish, look but dont touch. You can have healthy and safe interactions with venomous snakes and can earn each other’s trust, which is its own special relationship People who just take them out all the time or try to touch their venomous snakes just want to look cool. If they want to hold a snake, they can get a ball python
Im so confused. I remember you made a short about a 30 thousand dollars shipment box from Europe 2 weeks ago, and now there is the full video? I dont understand what is the timelapse between them, nor why you made a short for it when you can make either a short or a video. Can you explain to me Joey please?

Venomous research most likely most handlers want to either breed or provide venom for research
