Like you said, the game hasn't been patched for the Pro yet. As far I know, the PS5 game doesn't use dynamic resolution scaling, and so will have exactly the same image quality as the PS5 game. If the game does use DRS, it'll adhere closer to its 4K target. Because the Pro has a 10% faster CPU, faster and more RAM, and a GPU which is approx 70% more powerful than its predecessor, you will likely see things such as fewer, if any, frame-rate dips in game and smoother/quicker transitions between menus. The Pro version will provide in-game raytracing in one mode and a 4K (probably upscaled)/120fps mode.
The disc tray being gone is a huge problem. With gaming licenses now you MUST have a disc if you want to play any of your games in case of some ownership bs.
This. I'm blown away that nobody is talking about this. Just look at The Crew. Depending how the lawsuit goes having a physical copy is the only way to really "own" a game, and they're doing their best to make sure that is unlikely
It's a piss take, but you CAN buy and add (back!) on an optical drive. It's not like the PRO shuts off your disk collection permanently. But yeah, on a "Pro" console it should've been included. And definitely at the price
Its still a bit of a good thing regardless it stays at home or take it to different places. Not worth the price at the moment until we see the enhancement update.

I think the main diff is in the frames right now to be honest mate. You’ll now get a 120fps lock on the unlocked perf mode whereas was not always there.
I was tempted at first, but not anymore. As someone who's had the PS5 since day one which is now 4 years ago, I would never get the Pro unless I had nothing and wanted to get into console gaming. I'm just going to throw in an SSD stick to get some more storage for my PS5, and I'll be fine as-is. My issue has never really been the performance of the PS5(on the contrary) but the games being released, which is more a cultural thing.

Differences that I noticed in this video might be different recording settings on the PS5 Pro? 05:33 - The red color on the brakelights looks blurred. In fact the whole picture looks, like you recorded it in a lower resolution. 06:27 - There is a noticable "and annoying" motion blur like effect on movement. Take a look at the walls and fences and compare. I think, its just a different recording setting or bad compression on the video editing side. And about the people telling, that the image quality is not better and might be placebo. Let me offer you a possible explanation, why it might be indeed a better image quality in clarity/resolution. There is a technique, which is well known on Computers and is used in some games. And i think, that this technique is a MUST for consoles, because of the limited (yes, i mean it) performance, compared to like 2000€ high end computers! The technique tries to achieve solid 60 fps or 120 fps with dynamically lowering down the resolution on the peripheral sight (like at the corners of the view, where you don't look much often. Take a look at the pixelation of the fuelage and damage indicator texts on the VR Version at 09:00), based on how much work the Processors have to do. The technique basically lowers the resolution and details dynamically based on the performance to achieve 60 fps. Since the PS5 Pro has a better GPU, this technique doesn't have to scale down the resolution, because it is powerful enough to keep the 60 fps at full resolution. And THAT might be the reason, why people think, that the game look better. Because the games engine is dynamically rendering the resolution no matter if its a PS5 or the Pro version.
I immediately noticed the lighting in the first race, however oddly your headlights on PS5 seem more effective than on the PS5-Pro in side by side comparison on Nurburgring night race in the rain.
When you zoom in, the Pro shows a far more pixelated picture! I know the game didn't get updated yet but it looks worst in that department, what is strange!
10 seconds faster loading = +5hp. Wonder if it's a placebo effect. True test is to show gameplay and guess which one since they are so close. I don't agree with the price, but you gotta think, some people are paying over $1000 for a phone. I do think they should include 2 controllers.

I have no interest in a disc drive, and 99% of us have no need for it. That is not enough for Sony to justify including it.

How is misleading? He told that in the video, loud and clear.
No one is looking at the graphics when you are going 200mph down a track. Fps is what mater's in a fast pace game
Pretty sure you still need a license to play a disc game
You do, but the contents of the disc are yours and when PS5 emulation hits the PC scene in 2030, you have a disc to dump the data from...
It's a piss take, but you CAN buy and add (back!) on an optical drive. It's not like the PRO shuts off your disk collection permanently.
But yeah, on a "Pro" console it should've been included.
And definitely at the price
it makes a lot of sense, very few people care about buying physical copies any more. If it weren't for consoles we'd have already moved on.

If there's one test I'd like to see, it is if the LoD rendering for opponent car models is improved. In "prioritize frame-rate", the LoD models for the lamborghini gr.3 are especially weird. You can see a custom livery Lambo go back to stock livery if it gets far enough away from your screen. The "Lamborghini" badge in the back and the details behind the rear vents are invisible up until you're right on its back.
Just buy a PC and you'll never look back.
Yeah, especially for Gran Turismo.
I m sorry but there is really no reason to upgrade... Especially 800€ even if you race with RT on will it really matter?
if you look the apex colors white and red, pause the video, then you can see that the PS5 Pro has a lot of motion blur

Sadly, Gran Turismo 7 hasn't launched the PS5 Pro patch yet, that’s the whole reason I bought it. Honestly, it’s okay, but it’s not worth the £700, especially since it doesn’t even come with a stand.
