Thanks for the Teletone Audio reference. I will give that a try. I have Spectrasonics Keyscape for my piano sounds and I have a Nord Piano 5 as well. Looking forward to studying your workflow and style. I love what you produce.
Forgive me for the dumb question, as I am new to Ableton Push (literally just purchased Saturday), but how are you able to play the VST drum kit like a drum rack on the unit (i.e. the 4x4 block of pads instead of scale notes across the Push)? Does it automatically load that way? Thanks and great tips in the video.
Great question and awesome responses! As the this kit by Teletone uses Kontakt Player, there was a little bit of a workaround needed to be able to customise the drum layout. The kit uses ‘general midi’ which is a typical layout assigned by developers. Happy to help further on IG if you have more questions 😃✨🙏🏼
That's the mechanical sound of the Rhodes MK1! Noisy in the room (camera mic). I even installed the 'miracle mod' which makes it a bit quieter than it was before 😅
Hi Matt, when recording the Nord piano with the Apollo, do you use any plug-ins when recording (pre-amps, compressor, .. ) and are printed? All the best, Jannick
Good question! They’re ultra low latency and don’t compress audio. So if I’m finger drumming or playing midi keys I don’t notice anything - pretty cool 😃
@@mattwildemusic I looked them up. They claim 16 millisecond latency which is very usable for certain things (like finger drumming or playing midi keys) but still too much for playing guitar, bass or singing. Above 10ms is perceived as an echo. We can calculate (based on 1130 feet per second speed of sound) a 16ms delay is like having your guitar amp 18 feet away. It's quite noticeable. And when singing or speaking the physical sound in your head will combine to produce an annoying "doubling" effect. So I'll deal with a cable. 😐
You are great. A skilled and talented artist. Just skip those boring and generic programmed drums (so called beats). Find a groovy drummer instead. Maybe a bassist. And as a prophecy says: free your mind and your ass will follow! Greetings!

Yeah it automatically loads that way
The push displays it on the instrument the way it shows on the software

@mattwildemusic why did your rhodes keys click? Did you do something to the keybed, or am I just imagining it?

Yes sometimes a preamp like the Neve 1073 unison plugin 😀 but not always!
Wireless headphones? Latency?
I think they’re from AIAIAI. He mentioned in a previous video that they’re virtually latency-free
