- Here we have an example how to press a 44 lap Norisring race into youtube friendly 10 minutes.
Watch Christian Danner and Nicola Larini (starting from position 15) - both Alfa Romeo chasing Jörg van Ommen / Mercedes for the lead in the last few laps.
Midway through the video you'll also see Gerd Ruch and his Mustang V8 DTM proving that an all wheel-driven Alfa 155 TI cannot accelerate better than a V8.

I drive a '96 155 2.0 TS and I love this vehicle don't even need any other. Respect to Larini and anybody who worked for the DTM and BTCC and any other successes of Alfa Romeo

@satoshiakira no ,Sierras didn't participate in 1993, were the Ford Mustangs GT driven by Germans, brothers Gerd & Jurgen Ruch(whites), and Jurgen Feucht (black and red stripes), I've mostly seen Bimmers, Mercedes, some Opels and the dominantor of that year was Alfa-Romeo with Italian Nicola Larinni in the wheel of the number 8!!

Correct V8 were basically not allowed by the techical regulation of Class I Touring Cars. BUT the 5.0 liters V8 Ford Mustangs of the Ruch brothers and Jürgen Feucht were tolerated and allowed to race in the DTM until the end of the 1994 season.
All BMW M3 and its sucessors from 198x to '94 - including the Linder E36 from 93 plus the two WS E36 of 1994 - had max. 2.5l l4 engines. There was never a 3-series Beamer with l6 in DTM as far as I know.
@Maxpound Yes they were racing a few seasons. They had no results and were not competetive but had a monster sound.

Yeah, that's a Mustang alright. Still, it would've been pretty cool if it was a Skyline. Early DTM races used Group A rules, and the R32 Skyline was used in Group A races elsewhere. So it would be a possibility to use one in a DTM race.

Nope, das war Jürgen Feuchts Ford Mustang V8. Grundsätzlich der gleiche Wagen wie ihn auch die Ruch-Brüder damals eingesetzt haben. Ungefähr 500PS, kaum die Möglichkeit die Pferde auf die Straße zu übertragen, gepaart mit unterirdischen Bremsen.

@duffman61089 yes it was a 1993 GT I bet with a 302 5.0L , the black and red is Jurgen Feucht, and the white either Jurgen or Gerd Ruch!! All of them Germans!!
Alfa Romeo has always been a killer for Germans's smiles.
When Alfa entered the DTM in 1993 they and their drivers had a lot of German fan support right from the start. Therefore I just don't get your comment.....

Inpax Nemesi Many Germans love Alfa, they are simply a great car which is not overpriced.
So BMW E36 used the old 4 cylinder 2.5 liter .... Never used in a serial production E36 car ... thats possible as they quit quite fast

Fiat owns alfa romeo and fiat owns ferrari as well, so where there is a ferrari, there won't be an alfa romeo cause fiat/ferrari don't wanna have any italian rivals..that's the reason why alfa romeo competes only in WTCC cause there isn't a ferrari so "weak" to compete in that category
The Linder E36 was a fabulous car but with absolute zero Works-support, I think they pretty soon figured out that they would cast pearls before the swine no matter how hard they tried against these high-tech works monsters from Alfa, Mercedes and Opel.
Moreover I think to remember that some resultless debating before the 1993 season about the bulkhead position in order to fit a l6 properly into a potential works BMW was one of the main reasons that BMW didn't compete in the DTM back then.

@ivanlai0225 yeah you're right, Mercedes at that moment was the defending champion when Klaus Ludwig won in 1992, while Audi, was rare to see only with Frank Biela!! Now only 2 brands, no more Alfas, no more Fords, no more MGs, Vovo and no more Opels!!

Why F1, DTM and Indy Car were all so much better in the days of old ?
In 1993 there were no V8 allowed ... max 2,5 litre and six cylinders .... Mercedes 190 still used a 4 cylinder engine , Opel V6 -- and there was a E36 BMW with I6 engine... So Alfa 4x4 V6 against 4 cylinder Mercedes , V6 4x4 or rwd Opel, and I6 BMW
