We already started with nonsensical things at the beginning of the video: 1- Is Apple Vision Pro more powerful? yes it's more literally we don't have VR games for him so how will he use this performance? It's made for productivity so there's no comparison, it's like I have an RTX 4090 to use Chrome. 2- does the Apple vision pro have a better passthrough? Yes, but the difference isn't too big to justify the value, it only benefits from not having distortions like in Meta Quest 3. 3- those eyes that you can see outside the device are horrible, or it's difficult to see them and how much do you see the quality is low.
What the hell are you supposed to do with an Apple Vision Pro? Mark is right when he says the Quest is the better product, because the Apple Vision Pro may have better cameras and resolution, but that’s its main selling point, which isn’t great if you aren’t someone who wants to buy a 4 thousand dollar face pancake that you can scroll through apps you already do on your phone on. The Quest allows you to play *games*, the Apple Vision Pro might (idk I haven’t payed attention to it since it’s useless), but controllers are almost required for a good experience, hence why most vr games need them, as they have buttons and triggers and joysticks you can use to move around with. But really, I’m not sure comparing the 2 would be the right thing in the first place, as it seems they both have different purposes, one is mainly gaming with other cool and interesting features on the side, and the other is… idk working and being able to have multiple iPhone apps open at once…? Not all that appealing if you ask me (The Apple Vision Pro’s main audience is probably obsessed Apple fanboys)
The quest has always been been a better choice both with pricing and usage. I literally don’t understand how Apple can release a product with barely any apps and somehow expect independent developers to start investing into it when there are no clear interests.
I would say people do care about ALL of it... myself included.... but yeah a resolution that can output what the current consoles can.... game changer.
The Quest 3 has a feature that let's your friends avatar appear in your environment in Mixed Reality mode or your Virtual Environment mode so its not just Apple who has that feature
Competition is a good thing, means we all get better things. I got the meta quest pro pretty much solely for steam link, but seeing how smooth everything else works, it makes me interested in the rest of the services it has.
You can record spatial video on the Quest 3 when you adjust some of the settings. See the video of Hugh Hou about that. I made a spatial video using my Quest 3.
Opening up the Meta Horizon OS for other VR headset manufactorers is probably the single most effective step toward earning my trust. I have a Valve Index, and the reason why I've never owned Meta/Oculus VR device is because I don't want to be locked into Meta's ecosystem, buying games that only run on one piece of hardware that I don't even know if I like yet. Now that I'll know I'll have some alternative choices if I make the switch, that's one less barrier to entry for me.
meh. Quest is just a normal Android device, it's already totally open. you can even root it if you want, but there's no real need to because you can run anything as it is, including your own software. and it turns into "Valve Index" by just connecting a cable. "opening" Meta Horizon is more of a marketing buzz-speak and attempt to expand own ecosystem to other hw manufacturers.
@@ironwheal Oh I get that, software-wise, it's been already "open" like that thanks to side loading. I just didn't want to be locked into Meta hardware. It could even be great hardware, but maybe it won't always be. And if I buy games on their platform, I'd be forced to buy future Meta hardware if I wanted an upgrade.
@@ironwheal It's not really normal Android. It's built on Android, yeah, but it's not regular Android. At this point, this is as close to Android as Android was to Linux when it was first announced. (Android was built on Linux.)
@@LARVideosit's like 99% normal Android. once you sneak in a file manager and a launcher, the regular Android guts can be accessed and used quite easily, including setting up a third-party store like APKPure and using it to install and update normal Android apps. most of them work absolutely fine, except those that depend on Google Services or some low-level stuff.
0:34 if i pay 7x more but i dont even get controllers and have to have a wired battery in my pocket i would feel pretty dumb. The Quest and VP can not really be compared, yes they are both VR Headsets but the Quest is more a entertainment console and the VP is more like a productivity device imo.
Meta is in it for the long game. They're trying to beat everyone and become the next Apple in the VR world. Well, not LIKE Apple but more on the lines of if you think about a VR headset, you think about the Quest. Their goal is to probably be the powerhouse in the future of VR and AR. And they're doing a pretty good job so far.
The quest 3 Is the better product hands down. The vision pro literally blocks Most things that you wanna use it on. Also blocks logos Blocks adult entertainment Cost as much as a down payment for a car. If you're still not sold, good luck playing Simple games on that sucker. I almost forgot Apple's customer service, Q. mic drop.
The Zuck was actually right. The Quest 3 IS the better product. Maybe not for "spatial computing" and watching video's but for everything else it is. And everything else just happens to be the stuff people actually buy a VR headset for.
I'm glad apple made it possible to beef up the Quest 3. I already liked mine, but now it's such an easy to use device. Whatever better the VP can do, it must be phenomenal, because the Quest does a great job already. So good, that it must be phenomenal for me to "upgrade" it to a better device (for the same price). And there's just nothing on the market that can do that.
Either buy in now or wait 1.5-2.5 years, meta will look to develop the quest 3 for at least that long before pushing ahead and they've only just opened up the OS and so it will take other companies that long to build
The Quest 3s is about to come out, but that's not gonna be better than the Quest 3. It's gonna have Quest 3 processing power and passthrough, but with the older lenses and bulky form factor of the Quest 2.
Also, I bought the Pico 4 second hand for €200 It's decent, just hate how it doesn't like what you expect with "4k per eye" things close up are also very blurry.
@@roelieboy204 The 3s will be cheaper. If you haven't done anything yet, and want to get a taste of what it is like, there are Quest 2s that have hardly been used available everywhere for $150 or less. I bought a used Quest 2 for $125 and have found it to be a great experience so far.
I think opening it up is the only way their horizon world stuff would ever work. Locking environments down to device is what holds things like that back.
With the quest 3, there's actually things to do on it. That sounds like a better product to me. He wasn't talking about specs. He was talking about a thing people want to use.
I think Apple sold more Quest 3 units than Meta ever could. I have 3k(now bumped it up to 4k just in case) in a separate bank account for when the Deckard goes on pre-sale. I almost kicked an extra 500 to it to get the AVP but I'm not spending that much for anything that Valve doesn't make and isn't 100% supported in SteamVR. I decided to get the Quest 3 because I wanted some sort of update and when the Deckard does come out I only wasted $500 rather than $3500. I am enjoying the pass through on the quest 3, mixed reality games are the only ones I've bought for it and although the controllers suck compared to the Valve Knuckles PCVR works in it really well. It would be nice to get rid of my two monitors and just use a headset but I guess I'll have to wait for the Deckard to do that.
When connected to a gamepad you can you glance to select menus, I wish I could use that with pinch gesture like AVP, it's just easier move my head slightly than using my hands as a pointer because ins't precise and makes your arm tired
Regarding the mic, there's one big issue the internal mic had and probably still has: Aggressive background filtering. I was filming while using piano vision and no tune of my (physical) digital piano could be heard. Anything except my voice was completely filtered out. I wished MS Teams would be that effective...
Dont agree with you any of the points, putting a nicer display & design is all that you are fooled with $3400. Give that to quest they might give you the tony stark shit, smh...
With regards to the Mike thing. I know loads of people who do karaoke in VR are super excited about this, just what I've observed in Banter VR, I'm sure it's likely the same on other platforms.
I can't seem to find any info about this anywhere since no one talks about it, but all I'm wondering is if the quest 3 works well with Mac for productivity and multi screens. Does it support 120hz? Can I only use it on a great wifi so that means it's useless to bring abroad or to do work on a plane/train etc.?
Hmm , quest had higher resolution than vision pro , vision pro uses lens to make the pixels more blurry so it feels sharper , but quest had more pixels. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I ended up going with the quest pro mainly because the Vision Pro does have eye tracking but it’s not comfortable in vrchat but quest pro does. Maybe that will change in the future but I already bought quest pro so even vision updates it’s too late for me personally.
I don't like Facebook, but my god people are giving Apple way too much credit. Also if a device is 600% more expensive, OF COURSE it's going to have better hardware. It's so weird people keep comparing the two like they're the same price. If you consider all the shit you get for the smaller cost, the Quest STOMPS Apple's junk.
The reason given for the Meta quest supporting external mics sounds like the ASMR community got a member onto whatever community governs what they work on next. The mic on the VR headset is only 1 input not 2 or more. It also sucks compared to studio mics like he is most likely using for recording this video. So to go along with the before feature to support the R18+ stuff better as that seems to be where that type of thing is used most in streaming which 2+ person vr is a type of streaming. He is correct that the majority of them will be content creators but having features for them is also good.
The Apple Vision Pro might be better in some cases, but the price tag is also 6-7x higher. With the constant improvements of the Quest 3, it is a much better choice for the average consumer. The Quest 3 also has better value when it comes down to what you're getting for the price compared to the Vision Pro.
I switched from the Index to the Quest 3 a while ago. Aside from the built in audio the Quest 3 is a substantial upgrade. So much so that I sold my Index.
@@boijorzee I just got The Quest 3 128gb and wow, Super cool! My index is being cleaned off to list on ebay. I'm really Impressed with it for the hour and a half I've spent with it. Just the pass though and walking around the room is super cool!
Vision pro vs Quest 3 is literally the modern day mac vs PC. All we're missing is a bunch of quest commercials mocking the vision pro for being unable to play games. I miss those commercials man.
I don't think he's arguing against that. He's just saying that meta is copying / adapting some of the nice features apple's headset has. It's a win-win showing that competition is great.
Not About This Video. PC RGB LED's burning components. My PC is next to my TV/Monitor I noticed 2 days ago when background is black, my TV has burnt by the LED's in my PC. Have turned them off(2 days) but still have the burn on my TV with what looks like no change.
I tried the Apple vision pro and I have a quest 3 movies on avp awesome fov sucks compared to quest resolution great but is all this worth the price tag hell no .. And yes it's much heavier than the quest 3 period . In my opinion and I can easily afford it I would stay it's worth a 2k price tag but not 4k
I dont think I'm the demographic for vr/ar headsets, but if there was a vut down version that did pass through and game streaming from consoles and pc really well that would be up my ally. I know I wouldn't use the other features or even vr. If that could be at a reasonable price they'd sell me on it.
Apple has better. Pass-through and a better UI. That's all I get it. It has better specs but they don't use those specs so you can't really compare it cuz there's no games on the Apple vision pro the Quest. 3, 2 and pro all have game support and the Quest 3 and pro are pretty powerful headsets when it comes to standalone. Plus the Quest 3 is getting an update this year where it has augments
Exactly, in addition, the passthrough itself has already improved Meta Quest 3, now they just need to be able to resolve or significantly improve the distortions in the passthrough, improve manual tracking and the system UI (which is already being remodeled), in addition to that, we had improvements in object detection for mixed reality, in short, in terms of software, Meta quest 3 will only evolve over time.
They both feel like completely different devices though. Plus - while not cheap - the Quest 3 is cheaper than the Vision Pro, which is an instant plus for me.
I wish the Quest headsets had 20-40Deg more FOV. That would be a no brainer buy for me. But I will continue waiting until someone discovers that 90-110deg fov kinda sucks for human vision in VR (at least for those of us who are not seeing tunnel vision IRL)
@@Meccarox true, if the quest3 had dimming zones and hdr. I'd consider getting one. But I had the Quest-1-2 and Pico-4 and I couldn't get over the non-existent blacks. Dark games were grey and it was very hard for me to enjoy myself.
I just want Meta to release that cool wristband that is supposed to compete against Neurolink. If you can pair two of those with a Quest 3 and use them as controllers, I'd be happy
Apple Vision Pro is leagues better in tech and quality, and this coming from a Quest 3S owner. Though, just because a product is superior doesn’t necessarily make it successful. Similar to a high-end restaurant that specializes in a specific dish, vs some fast food franchise. The fast food joint will garner more customers due to price, variety, and convenience.

Better than Quest 3 in everything except price? lol what? Did you forget what video games are or that sideloading is a thing?

Only thing i wish for a futur meta headset is a micro oled display with great clarity, very few people care about AR applications or passthrough
I made a spatial video using my Quest 3.
just bashing on the quest 3 when theyre built for different operations.
@@ironwhealroot the quest 3 on the current software version. I’m waiting.
Horizon Worlds is never going to take off.
Rec Room & VRChat own the Social Gaming space.
Except it doesn't make you more productive anyways.
@@deejnutz2068 true
Genuinely like your content kyle when your not acting like a complete tool!
Thank you... I was about to write this. Exactly...
Funnily enough, the Apple Vision Pro can do less than the Quest 3.
I've only used my quest 3 for games and the Apple headset has no games or iPhone games only so if you like having fun choose the quest 3
I want to use mine as a screen replacement, but not with these form factors.
In a nutshell. 👍
Bro DID NOT do any research lmao
Is now a good time to buy a VR headset? Or should I wait a few more months?
Either buy in now or wait 1.5-2.5 years, meta will look to develop the quest 3 for at least that long before pushing ahead and they've only just opened up the OS and so it will take other companies that long to build
The Quest 3s is about to come out, but that's not gonna be better than the Quest 3. It's gonna have Quest 3 processing power and passthrough, but with the older lenses and bulky form factor of the Quest 2.
@@LARVideos Then why would someone wanna buy that one?
Also, I bought the Pico 4 second hand for €200
It's decent, just hate how it doesn't like what you expect with "4k per eye" things close up are also very blurry.
@@roelieboy204 The 3s will be cheaper. If you haven't done anything yet, and want to get a taste of what it is like, there are Quest 2s that have hardly been used available everywhere for $150 or less. I bought a used Quest 2 for $125 and have found it to be a great experience so far.
You have grown so much when it comes to video making Kyler! Excited for more!
I think opening it up is the only way their horizon world stuff would ever work. Locking environments down to device is what holds things like that back.
Performance is partly what kills it, right now. It a mess.
Plug and play steering wheels, other peripherals etc would be awesome.
It would be nice to get rid of my two monitors and just use a headset but I guess I'll have to wait for the Deckard to do that.
quest 3 sold more.
UFD Tech, Subscribed because your videos are so much fun!
When connected to a gamepad you can you glance to select menus, I wish I could use that with pinch gesture like AVP, it's just easier move my head slightly than using my hands as a pointer because ins't precise and makes your arm tired
Is this sponsored by Apple wtf. Where did objectivity in reviews go?
Why does Tim want to pay someone to praise Zuck for 15 minutes straight?
Regarding the mic, there's one big issue the internal mic had and probably still has: Aggressive background filtering. I was filming while using piano vision and no tune of my (physical) digital piano could be heard. Anything except my voice was completely filtered out. I wished MS Teams would be that effective...
The vision pro is an absolute failure. No good apps, vr games suck and or not compatible.
And none of that is Apples fault
@jimmymifsud1 Awww, it never is, is it.
2:25 my guy they did that for GeForce now players - you should use the the Quest 3 more and you may agree with Mark
This guy is a natural at speaking to the camera
love my quest 3
Umm Kyler I think you found your groove🎉 loving this keep it up man!
Bro just compared a $400 headset to a $3.5k well no shit it's less powerful
But the 400 dollar headset does more.
Gamepad support in browser is a game changer. I know a lot of people who won’t install gamepass or steam if it can be avoided
Correct me if I'm wrong.
i have bnoth of them and the quest is so much better to play with overrall.. u can do so much more with quest for WAY CHEAPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The apple vision pro blows 😂 that's just an objective truth
I could buy a brand new quest 3 and a $3,000 computer or a AVP...hmm tough choice
all I want from quest passthrough is no warping. that is my biggest turn off using it.
update v68 fixed it
I ended up going with the quest pro mainly because the Vision Pro does have eye tracking but it’s not comfortable in vrchat but quest pro does.
Kyle edited out the Chaos Energy!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow, nice update. I had no idea the Quest 3 was updating like that! Maybe time to give it a try vs my Index.
I miss those commercials man.
nah de quest can do 99% of vision for 3000$ less
I don't think he's arguing against that. He's just saying that meta is copying / adapting some of the nice features apple's headset has. It's a win-win showing that competition is great.
So quest is trying to hit the nich market of the vision pro? Not a bad thing, just makes it even better then the vision pro still
Not About This Video. PC RGB LED's burning components. My PC is next to my TV/Monitor I noticed 2 days ago when background is black, my TV has burnt by the LED's in my PC. Have turned them off(2 days) but still have the burn on my TV with what looks like no change.
the Vision pro might be better than a quest, but is it 6 times as good, because its over 6 times the price. 1 vision pro, or 6 quest 3,
This video has the greatest thumbnail I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
What pro-grade microphone outputs via USB-C?
I dont think I'm the demographic for vr/ar headsets, but if there was a vut down version that did pass through and game streaming from consoles and pc really well that would be up my ally. I know I wouldn't use the other features or even vr. If that could be at a reasonable price they'd sell me on it.
the vision pro has no vision behind it and cost a grate sum of money with no reason. It is simple as that....
Seeing this video right now is wierd how meta is progressing foward and vision pro is like kind of past
brother is doing spins on it
i would kill for a black quest 2/3
Good video, hope to see you do more soon. 😊🖤
@@Raphajobinn6868 agreed
If Quest 4 has eye-tracking I’m in. You hear me Zucc?!
maybe the quest pro 2 will (quest pro already has but it's passtrough sucks)
They both feel like completely different devices though. Plus - while not cheap - the Quest 3 is cheaper than the Vision Pro, which is an instant plus for me.
Vision Pro is overhyped and overpriced! Waiting to buy one off eBay 🧐.
You're a natural presenter and funny good job
I wish the Quest headsets had 20-40Deg more FOV. That would be a no brainer buy for me. But I will continue waiting until someone discovers that 90-110deg fov kinda sucks for human vision in VR (at least for those of us who are not seeing tunnel vision IRL)
The Quest 3's fov is still at least usable compared to the vision pro which is just too narrow and distracting.
Can I get a link to the deskmat at 0:30
Competition is good for everyone i think. I would buy the apple vision around 1.5 k at most.
