Forts is a physics-based RTS where foes design and build custom bases, arm them to the teeth and blast their opponent's creations to rubble.

this is why I love forts matches. even if you THINK one of the teams has won already, the other might just pull a 500 IQ move out of their ass and turn the battle from being pummelled to death to cleaving the enemy in half and flying a plane into one of their towers

@@the_mad_fool I get the guy is good, but Etan need to reel him in, it put's a bruise on Etan's rep, if he can get cloud to stop, all good, but if cloud continues, I'll just assume Etan is ok with toxic behavior...which makes me question if he should be further involved.
You say ez once against some so called "friends" of the devs and you get a ban for a couple days. Cloud beeing toxic in an official tournement and they all act like they seen nothing...

Funny how they mention the ships being in the middle of the dessert, there is a US Navy installation known as the "Ship(or sometimes Cruiser) in a Corn Field". It's a test platform used for radar and other technology development.
Edit; technically it's not navy, but rather owned and operated by Lockheed Martin, who makes much of the technology, such as radars, that go in Navy ships.
China built a few aircraft carrier targets in the middle of the Gobi too

Smokestacks can absolutely be covered just like turbines.
A roof of energyshielding does not compromise their production directly.
And since one produces about 60 to 80 energy, they can easily warrant a protection of two shields.

Having put thousands of hours previously on SpringRTS, but barely looking at it in the past few years, having BAR come to my attention may be the best thing to come from this tourney [for me]. Will have to check that out, see if it can tempt me back "after all these years".
Coming back to this cast and seeing this comment. It did tempt me back, stayed for a few months, did some stuffs, then got extremely irritated with a dev and left again.
How long this hiatus will last has yet to be determined.

What's with all the teams named after BAR? I mean, its a good game, just odd seeing so many teams named after it in a different game lol
Watching this as a person who hasn't even touched the game just makes me think aircraft have a lot of rebalancing to do. Take less time and resources than cannons, similar if not more damage. VERY spammable comparatively. AAA doesn't really matter because of this. And they say the airplane ammo is very explosive but it doesn't really seem explosive at all for all the times they were destroyed.
They need to start checking name's meanings before the tournaments Xd

BAR is short for a game called Beyond all reason. Which is a free rts game that has several player friendly mechanics. Making playing fun.

The grey text is spectators.
the guys with the grey name are spectators (for example admins and whatnot), so yeah they can be seeing/hearing the stream with no issues

Some really bad commentary and Incursus part and really downplaying how well Green Leaf did so he could kiss up to his bootlickers in Incursus-BAT, was really cringe inducing.

Why does Green Leaf not use armor?

Armour is cool, but it has a very specific use. Unless you have an overabundance of resources and APM, it should never make up the majority of your defense.
Consider that armour has only about 2.7x health points as wood (400 vs 150), while costing 18 times as much in metal (180 vs 10 metal for 2-grid-long strut).
For this reason, for main defense you should instead try to use dense woodspam whenever possible. If you overuse armour (or energy shields), you're going to quickly bankrupt yourself.
Some examples where armour is useful:
- Stopping buzzsaws, where sandbag walls are not feasible.
- Stopping a firebeam+plasma laser combo (needs two layers of armour spaced apart to work)
- Defending places where you need to stop damage at all cost, but have very limited space to build woodspam and can only build a thin layer of defense. For example, if you only have enough space in front your mines to build 4 struts, then it doesn't matter how much it's going to cost - you place armour (or shields) there.
- Late game, when you already have tech, weapons, eco, your metal stores are full, and have nothing to spend metal on at the moment (happens when you're not getting shot at for a while), then you build armour in your woodspam. If you're going to float metal away, there's no reason to not spend it on armour instead and that way get some "free" defense.

So, just asking otherwise how much wood is specifically needed to stop heavy weapons, since I may be a good player, I dont know too much about that so iv been doing 2 large boxes with a layer of small boxes in front, although i do know door amounts for then. if not could you see if you could explain next time we meet in vc lol
@@IceBreakei Depends on the weapon and circumstances.
A cannon deals 700 direct damage, therefore you need a layer of 5 foreground bracing struts to stop a single shot (150*5 = 750). The best defense is typically two layers of 2x3 boxes with layers of 1x2 boxes stacked inside, which is what you can often see during the tournaments and the pro league. This will absorb the cannon while putting a distance between the impact and your reactor.
A howitzer shell deals 450 direct damage, therefore it takes 3 foreground bracing struts to cause it to explode (150*3=450) or 5 background bracing struts (100*5=500). This is by the way why you will often see pros building a "net" of background bracing some distance away from their weapons. They're exploiting the fact that the howitzer collides with background bracing, and so they're triggering the explosion safely away from their weapons.
A plasma laser deals 875 damage, therefore it technically takes 6 struts to stop, but that's theoretical. In practice, due to a hidden mechanic, it will destroy 1000 damage worth of struts when fired alone. However when combined with a firebeam, it can destroy an *unlimited* amount of wooden struts across the whole width of firebeam penetration.
This is because the mentioned hidden mechanic is that if a plasma laser destroys a strut on a given game tick, it will instantly apply the same damage to the next strut. Since for most of its duration the plasma beam deals ~40 damage per tick, this means that during that time plasma laser can destroy practically an infinite amount of 40hp struts. This synergizes with the firebeam, which just so happens to damage the struts it penetrates down below 40hp threshold, hence why firebeam+plasma combo instantly vaporizes an insane depth of struts. To stop this, woodspam is not enough - you need either multiple layers of armour, or a sandbag wall (to stop the firebeam from igniting the wood).
A nighthawk bomb deals 450 direct damage, so 3 foreground bracings to cause an explosion.
Nukes, mortars, rockets, deck guns, and thunderbolt bombs explode on contact and deal AOE damage, so these values are irrelevant. For the first three, you're best off building woodspam which is as spaced as possible in order to minimize eco damage from the splash (and to accomodate anti-air inside). The latter two require a different approach, and tanking them with woodspam alone is generally not feasible.

Could Incursus stop with the overpronunciation of team names? Its pretentious as all hell.
Why devs do not implement solo resources with coop building? AKA Megazord.
Resources and battery divided by player, share the same building, each one is a reactor, all weapons shared.
Sounds great on paper. Problem is, if you have a teammate that isn’t doing much, they just become a sink for 25% of your resources.

This option would help organize resources and divide the work of each team member.
If you have 2 shooting and 2 building, yo u have granted 50%/50% shooting/building resources, if you have 1 shooting 1 building/shooting and 2 building, you have granted 25~50%/50~75% shooting/building.
