From one introverted loner to another, its not our problem we're so cool we just wanna spend time with ourselves :P
Hahaha ily ❤️❤️❤️
Truth! Me too
The introvert club is the best club. I'm bummed out that I missed the chance to ask my assumption, please do another one soon! Also I'm curious, have you thought about bringing out any new merch soon? I think you should do like a wildfern or plant based embroidery patch or something.. I would LOVE that and would be first in line! ☺️
Ooo thank you Ollie!!
I think it is wonderful to enjoy your own company and not feel the need to have the approval of others.
I think a lot of plant people are introverted. I remember the first few plant swaps I went to, I convinced myself people didn’t like me because they seemed standoffish and then I realized that so many of us are introverted and i might have to be the one to initiate conversations. After getting in that mindset, it was so much easier to have friendly conversations with people there!!
Ah so true!! Definitely something to keep it mind when people don’t seem to be super friendly off the bat ❤️
I work for an organisation that helps people with visual impairments and I have to say, you naturally describe the plants really well! The colours, the textures, shapes etc. These are all things that blind people can't appreciate unless it's described so it's great that you go into detail 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.
I appreciate this so much! Thank you :)
You are by far my favorite 🪴 RUclipsr. I’ve always felt that you had good energy and listened to you today confirmed my ASSUMPTION! I am an ambivert. But I think I lean more towards introvert. As a teacher, definitely need time every day to recharge. Listening to you confirms my belief that as humans we are more alike than different. As an African American almost 60 years old woman living in the USA, you would think that I would have nothing in common with you other than a love for plants. But, like you ,I have a deep and abiding love for the natural world.i.Thanks for creating awesome content and I look forward to seeing you start outside gardening. I’m a gardener, too 😌
You are the light in this community and you deserve the world! Thank you for the mention and congrats on 80K!!! ♥♥♥
thank you Charmaine 🥺✨
Girl I totally understand, I’ve been an introvert all my life and meeting people is so exhausting and scary at times for me. I used to be ashamed of it but now I embrace it. I’ve accepted that it’s a part of me :) and thanks for answering my assumption 💕
I absolutely love these chatty repots, hope you are doing well fern! 💕🥺 also i love your hair!!!
Thank you so much!!
I’m a big takeout person so since you do so much cooking at home I would love a “what I eat in a week or two” realistic video. I love cooked veggies but I really struggle coming up with what to eat/cook every day😬
I will definitely be doing what I eat in a weeks on my new vlog channel 🥰
I just cannot get past how well your head shape works with short hair 😍 You look amazing. Giving me serious Natalie Portman shaved hair vibes..and she is a stunner too
Thank you so much 😀
This was a fun video to watch. Some of those assumptions were pretty weird...."I thought you worshiped the devil" 😂 Now I want to make an assumptions video and see what is said about me lol
What an enjoyable video! Some of the assumptions cracked me up! Isn't it funny how we develop a vision/opinion of someone? Oh but the last one shocked me! Fern, your passion for and enjoyment of plants is so obvious!
Appreciating you and your content even more ♥️
i literally love u ur videos make my day better
💚🌿
( repotting is probably one of my favorites things to do as a plant parent lol)
I love it tooo. I'm actually running out of plants to repot - never thought I would see the day... lol!
I love these chatty repots! Also I can't get over how cool you look with a buzzcut 🤩
True Fern! Love all your styles💚 YOU DEFINITELY 1000% ROCK THEM ALL!
I love your videos so much. Watching someone who loves plants as much as I do is so wonderful. 💕
These chatty repots might be my favorite! And I want to learn to sew so I would be stoked if you started that journey and made post about it!
meeting people is exhausting to me too . because when I go out and see people it is like in the jungle. survival mode. defense. have to watch out on every step because the beasts are waiting for you to make a mistake.
Perfect timing. I'm getting ready for the day
Perfect!
This was fun to watch
Yay my insta question was featured hehe. Thanks for answering. Love your videos🥰💞
Honestly if youd realy like to get into orchids I'd recommend starting with CLERANCE orchids since they cheap and when you finally get to the point of one of em blooming it feels amazing .
Absolutely love chatty repots!!! By far my favorite content from you💞💘 PS: low key missed the part when you use a lil scoop to scoop it the soil from the box😭🥺🥲✨(it’s so relaxing for some reason!)
Sewing is great. My nan taught me when I was very young. Over lockdown I took up embroidery which really helped.
Sewing clothes is a real skill and so fun.
Its great for gift ideas and so great when it goes well!
Great vid.
I basically learned to sew on RUclips and Pinterest. I just started with easy things and kinda moved up. You could do it for sure! 😃
So excited for you to try gardening! Working with outdoor plants has its own special magick.✨ Growing veg + herbs is how I got into houseplants. It can truly be so healing. 🌱
Woe some of them questions or assumptions 😆 🤣 oh Fern I love you , your to sweet an take it well love the hair .. I'm proud of ya girl
You have quickly become one of my favourite youtubers💛 you have such a kind and warm spirit :)
Thank you Nina 🥺💕
@@wildfern still binging your content, even rewatching my favourites already🥰
Yay thanks for doing this one Fern!
My pleasure!!
Great vid! I love all if your videos and look forward to watching them weekly! You are very inspiring with your plant' content and vlogs (my fav). I think it's very courageous to put yourself out there and let folks make assumptions and then share with everyone! You seem to be a very strong person with a ton of confidence 🥰 And congratulations on 80k followers! Oh and one last thing --- introverts rock!
Thank you so much Alisha 🥺💖
i loved this vid ❤️❤️
I just started following you. You explain everything so clearly. You are very mature and seem very responsible. Keep doing a great job and I really look forward for you to be on You tube. I enjoyed the potting and chatting today. Thanks for all the helpful information 🙂
Oh thank you so much Ida!! :)
Yay! I'm binge-watching your vids because here on Vancouver Island, our climate, including light, is so different than LA or Missouri for example.
Yes it is!! I wish we got their sun lol 😩
Yas, really been looking forward to this one!
🥰💖
I can't wait for the next one! 💚
Omg I totally had a moment with jungle cactus last February. They are so cool!
Sewing isn’t hard to learn as long as you want to learn to do it you can do. Give it a shot you will probably enjoy it. I love to sew and started to learn when my daughter was born because I wanted to make her clothes and I did. It’s just a special feeling when you put your heart into making something.
Your videos are really great to help me improve my english level ! ( and also to enjoy your amazing planty content ) 💚🌱
love from France❤❤ ( and sorry for the mistakes haha) 😅
Hi Fern, great repotting session! I think you should definitely try growing an orchid, they are not difficult if you know a little bit about them, and the easiest plant to grow is a Phalaenopsis orchid. Thanks for sharing and happy growing!
amazing thank you! I am definitely interested to try one ☺️ hopefully in the near future!
Nothing wrong with being an introvert💚🌱🐾. It is very calming.
My mom passed this last year and “tree nutrients” was on her agenda. We used a facility called Return Home. She is being composted into soil and we will receive her soil shortly. It was a beautiful way to say goodbye to her vessel, and transfer her energy.
it really is a beautiful way to do it. I'm sorry for your loss 🖤
Your hair ,nails, fashion, lovely quirkiness, and plant tips ….are everything.✨🌱☺️I started pattern making at FIT before college. Then sewing and embroidery from my great grandmother. The biomedical engineering, now I’m an art curator of my own gallery in CT. It’s pressure but I’d never change it.
thank you so so much 🖤
@@wildfern welcome 🤗
I’m sure (I hope!) you don’t really care about a random strangers opinion…but the buzz cut really suits you SO much! It just highlights your lovely features. I love it on you!
I'm actually so excited that you are a prairie person too!! I didn't even realize you were Canadian!
Wooo! Yesss 😃
I'm actually watching this video while sewing! I am making a patchwork quilted poncho totally from scrap using thrifted fabric!
That’s so cool!! 👏
my birthday is june 11 too! i have never looked into alternative forms of astrology, but maybe I should because I have never really vibed with a lot of typical gemini themes. love your videos, its nice to hear more about you! :)
I love orchids! I recommend starting with a phalaenopsis, which is the kind you see in hardware and grocery stores all the time. Based on your appreciation for silvery leaves you may like phalaenopsis schilleriana. It has silver patterns on the leaves with fragment light purple flowers. MissOrchidGirl has featured it in several of her videos.
I love these kind of videos 🥰
💚💚
Very interesting video! I just started knitting, but mostly I crochet. Alot of celebrities have started crocheting. Its easy to catch on to. And you can make all kinds of stylish clothing.
Love this ❤️
Plants can be a great therapy
yes, try an orchid! But, try it in LECA since they love to be aerated but moist!
The title of the video had me lol! 😂 Love your videos! 🤟
what about the title lol!?
Hi! it's Mickaël from France. If you wanna try an orchid, i think you should begin with a phalaenopsis, and my favorite is the Phalaenopsis schilleriana who got the most beautiful foliage . The best tip i could give if you wanna try orchids is that they are almost all epiphytic (like hoyas and jungle cacti) so they need a very airy and light substrate and pot. orchids like a lot of plants are easy when you understand where they come from and how they live in their natural habitat.
I never saw the request for these assumptions and tbh, I rarely wanna make assumptions but- mine would have been that you quit nursing either because of compassion fatigue or an inability to not take it all into yourself.
I agree with you wholeheartedly about Terra Cotta. It just makes every plant cuter 🤷 it's science
the terracotta + hoya = so pretty
Try an orchid, it took me a few tries but they are so rewarding!
I absolutely enjoyed hearing you answer your questions and watching you pot plants. Plants are definitely a destresser for me. I have been into them my whole life and can’t imagine life without them. I just bought a huge 10’x15’ greenhouse and spend most of my days and part of my nights out there. So for someone to suggest you only do plants for the money is kind of crazy to me. Kind of Like Nursing you either Love the job or you don’t. Also a Nurse, Retired, and moss it tremendously!!
Hi Fern great video! I am into orchids also and they are not as intimidating to grow as you think. I felt the same way you did but I have always loved them and finally took the plunge and have successfully kept orchids alive and producing spikes every spring and fall. I learned a lot from watching RUclipsr - Orchid Whisperer ...she is fantastic and I grow all my orchids in semi water culture in glass vases. I mainly have Phals and Vandas and when they bloom... OMG... it is so rewarding. Hope you decide to take the plunge and just try it! I am sure glad I did. 💜💜💜💜💜💜🥰🥰
I've been wanting to try a Paphiopedilum (green lady slipper orchid) again. My first one dried out but I think I could have success in my Milsbo... maybe you can give it a try first :)
you give me gemini sun vibes with an earthy chart!
I believe there is little bit of witch in all of us as they said in the movie Practical Magic. I’m very into witchy things myself. Crystals, herbs, candles but above all one’s innate intuition. This was such a cool video!
Yes!! Plz learn to sew and add it to your logs 🤩 I want to learn to sew too!
I'm a June 11th Gemini as well!
I say go with whatever system resonates most with you. I have a Mercury and Venus in Taurus in tropical Astrology and I definitely feel it along with my Gemini Sun. Being a Taurus Sun in sidereal feels accurate too.
Nice relaxing video
These babies look great in their new home, specially the hoya ,some weird
comments from people for sure👎
You look happy in your skin Fern that's a great thing!!💚🌱🪴🌵
I highly recommend an orchid! It was the plant that got me into houseplants 2 years ago 🥰 I did kill my first one from giving it literally no light, but i have kept all my others alive and i honestly never water them 😢 Once one of them even almost died but grew a whole second plant as the other died off 🤯 After 3-4 months they all bloom again and ive never even repotted any before! When i find them in the trash room i always save them now 😅
Why do I relate to you so MUCH!
🖤🖤🖤
I love jungle cactus!
I am also falling for jungle cactus 🌵 as well! 💚
They’re so great!!
Proud to be an introvert myself!!! 💚
Your nails match your Syngonium Erythrophyllum perfectly 😻♥️💚
😃 they do!
I'm a gemini as well. It might be helpful to check out your natal chart online, you'll need to know the time you were born at for the most exact chart. From there you can find out your big 6 which is your sun sign (which you already know, as your sun sign is gemini.) Moon sign, rising or ascendant, your mercury, venus and mars!
My paradoxa was so mad at me when I repotted. I ordered a new one and left it alone in the ugly black nursery pot and placed THAT pot within my pretty pot :) the dang thing is thriving. They have such a small root system they don’t need a large space. The 2” nursery pot is literally perfect until the plant is much bigger.
I enjoy the process of spraying and watering so by leaving my small stuff in 2” nursery pots (placed in my pretty pots) allows me to mother them more than I would be able to if they had more soil.
I use coco planters for my huge rhips but my babies stay in minimal soil and grow so much faster. (Test it with a few). I guess it depends on how much effort u want to put in daily. If u want to leave them be, then potting up in a little bigger pot is good since the soil will be damp longer. If u are like me and want the process of puttering over them a lot (lol) the smaller pots make you both happy :)
I literally water mine with my spray bottle I use to mist.
So…all ,y senseless rambling aside…..ur paradoxa will benefit from less soil. Less water and more misting. It will take off for you. Pinch off the new growth for about a year and stick it back in the dirt so that u have it growing in that tiny pot on all sides….THEN put it in a 4-6” pot like u did. Remember these rhipsalis live in the cracks of trees with very little to no soil at all. They will do better for you if u can mimic those conditions. I’ve even seen people mount rhips to logs to hang on the wall.
Glad to see my favorite planty youtuber is from the same province as me! 💚
🌾🥰
You can totally learn how to sew! I one day decided i wanted to learn so I bought a sewing machine and learned through youtube videos. Now I make/ alter my own clothes and make dresses for my dog lol
omg hahah love it
Look up cold hardy aroids! There are more than you think! I started off as an outdoor gardener with my grandma. Pretty sure that's how I got a knack for houseplants. Most food crops require a lot of sunlight so I tend to stick to ornamentals because of my current apartment. 90% of my houseplants go outside though for the summer and usually double or even triple in growth!
I think it’s so cute how you addressed the bisexual assumption. I (and probably the rest of the queer community) appreciate your allyship :)
I would love to see you experiment with an orchid cause I’ve been wanting one but also been avoiding it haha. So let’s motivate each other ☺️❤️🪴
Definitely learn how to sew. It is not very hard to learn. I taught myself how to sew quilts when I was in my 20's. That was almost 30 years ago. I gosh....I just revealed to everyone that I am a prehistoric dinosaur. 🤣. From quilts I quickly learned to sew other things. I also taught myself how to make silver jewelry from scratch. I make rings, earrings, and bracelets from sterling silver. And in May 21 I became a hoya head. I am also currently in nursing school. with 2 more semesters to go. Hopefully, I will graduate this August. Just put your mind to it and you can do anything! Good luck Fern. Liz
prehistoric dinosaur hahaha! too funny. and so true - good luck on your nursing journey 💖
Try an orchid! I've gotten a rare one to bloom and got a mini phal to rebloom!
Repots are my favourite!
🥰🥰🥰
My two favorite RUclipsrs Fern & Charmaine 🙈❤️🌱🌱
💖💖
Oh my gosh, yes try an orchid! They are so rewarding. I highly recommend miss orchid girl on RUclips. She has the best beginner orchid care videos.
I'll check her out! thank you!
Orchids are a pain, I inherited one and I thought I killed it but she’s still going so it’s not so scary. I learn a lot from you so you should give it a try!
I'm literally sitting knitting while watching your video ;) But the name probably gives my craftiness away. I actually sew too, and I totally think bag sewing is the way to go if you're learning (though I"m kinda biased, I run a small business sewing bags) you have straight lines, you can easily learn to sew in zips, which is far easier than you'd think, and it's fast. Can definitely recommend!
Ahh good to know - thank you!!
Can you do a rhipsalis care video? I struggle so much with mine but can never find any good care guides! Yours look so beautiful. And that aged terracotta pot they're in is absolutely perfect.
another great video! 💟💟
Thank you 🤗
Do you ever do live reports? I’d love to watch a stream of you doing this. Just pure unedited Wild Fern relaxation
I haven’t, but good to know there would be interest :)
I loved your hair with the blond streak though it. I’m not used to seeing you bald yet.
You are so brave to do these “assumes” people can be unkind at times.
So I assume you are an extremely brave person!
Try an orchid!
I make quilts. So I sew 🧵 a lot.
I used to make all my daughters clothes.
Still just loving the buzz. I seriously considered it last year, but grew out a pixie cut into a full undercut instead. So I enjoying the buzz cut on the bottom half of my head instead. 🤣
Also yesss, try an orchid for us 🤩
Eeee!! *adds to list*
I am an introvert too. I would be an observer before opening up to anyone 😅. I do sew and I love it! So much fun. You should try to if and only if you are willing to learn. Love watching your videos, as always. p.s and I cannot wait for your gardening.
Potting up cuttings and propagating while watching your video. I think you'd do well with an orchid. I grow african violets to get my flower fix.
i think you would really like an orchid schilleriana !
loved this video !!! also, i agree that terracotta makes a plant look 10x better but my watering habits do not work with terracotta in the slightest… all the plants i’ve put in terracotta look cute for a month or two and then they look terrible, on the brink of death and need a rescue mission… definitely very jealous that your plants thrive in terracotta with you ! (i decided to just paint my walls terracotta instead haha)🧡💚🧡💚
Orchids are fine, I have numerous moth orchids, zygopetalum, vanilla and dendrobium. They are quite forgiving I found. I do often forget to water them and they still thrive and even flower. They seem to like being on a north facing window.
You could try a Jewel Orchid (Ludisia Discolor)! They have a bit easier care than standard than other orchids (in my opinion.) I loved your video and learning more about you! Take care.
