I love the predictability of my Harp, especially the reliable skip. It's fairly new to my bag and the more I throw it, the more I trust it. Whenever I get a compliment of "nice upshot", it's with the Harp. I also love my RPro Pig, especially for anny putts around obstacles. I love how it flattens out just right.
Awesome. This also shows the importance of working on putting to widen that circle of comfort. Here you're using a 12 ft perimeter. If one's CoC is 18 feet...that's an extra 12 feet in diameter to work with. Which means a lot more room for error on the upshot (and comeback putts).
Glad someone is saying this. As a beginner, I took a lot of internet advice early on selecting discs, and too often they push for neutral to understable discs. I was pretty frustrated for a while (especially in the wind), and I felt like I had no idea what my discs were going to do in flight. Then I tried out a harp, and everything changed (well, mostly the stability of the discs in my bag).
I bag a Harp and out of all the discs I have...it's the one I have the most trust in. I also happened to find a Pig that nobody claimed so I gave it to my buddy and he loves that one too for the same reasons.
I love my AviarX3, and I'm really confident with my Hyzer throw with it. I actually hyzered around a tree and hit a basket I couldn't even see with a Hyzer throw and that disc.
I stumbled on this way of thinking on accident when I picked up a streamline stabilizer... now its my go to hyzer putter. Its a slight more overstable than the axiom envy but likes to push forward for me.
I am super new and loved my Innova starter set. Then, bought a bunch of different putt/approaches. Then, I added a Praxis, Through Space, Aura... which is similar to the Pure. Besides having a cool look with a rainbow Conch on the yellowish green slick plastic, which GLOWS as if it was a glow in the dark disc, I can be 75-100 ft away and park it at the base of a pin every time, regardless of high winds or slick landing zones. Love my Aura Praxis, so reliable and I love the way it feels in my hand. It's the only one I use now.
Getting out to the field and testing approach shots with the variety of discs in my bag has really surprised me. I learned that I don't have a reliable hyzer yet. Also, discs I thought were reliable are less consistent than some I never throw. Great video as usual!
Two things happened immediately when I bought a Harp. 1. My average scores dropped by a couple of strokes 2. It became my most used disc other than putter (almost replacing mids completely except for tee shots)
I love this!! Played a round with some new friends yesterday, and my overstable putter was being used alot. By hole 14 they asked, do you use any other discs?

You should test out a Stabalizer from Streamline discs some time. I’ve tried the pig, harp, and the caltrop for the OS approach shot but the Stabalizer was the perfect fit for me. It feels like a putter and glides a tiny bit farther than the others without sacrificing stability. Try it out sometime!! 👍👍
Have you ever tried a west side warship midrange? I absolutely love that disk, it stays very flat and heizers right at the end of the flight with minimal effort.
I can't agree with you more. I also bag a Champion Aviar X3 and that thing is my savior forehand approach shots, backhand approach shots through tight gaps I need to power a little bit, and anything windy. It also feels great in the hand, as you mentioned.
I bag the Innova Pig. I had not been playing long, and only had my starter set plus a Beast, when I watched Ricky Wysocki's video playing a whole round with just pigs. Such a great disc!
I currently bag 3 zones d,z,and crystal flx. The flx seems to be my most reliable and will probably earn the final spot in the bag. Great videos, love the content.
Following the same logic of picking an overstable disc to get the consistency, the verdict was the first midrange I could throw well every single time. Before I got the verdict I never really trusted throwing mids, half the time I'd turn them over or grip lock them so I'd throw a driver or putter for every shot, once I threw the verdict for a while it got me confident in throwing mids and opened up my game.
If you like the Pig and Rhyno you should try the Streamline Pilot. It's similar, but has a rounded edge instead of flat. I absolutely love this disc especially for approach shots (it's great for stall putts).
I love my Razor Claw Tactic and I have a Glow C-Line P2 that is super overstable and feels great for upshots! The rim is a little deep for my putting-wise, but it took my upshot game to the next level. It also makes for a great driving putter!
I originally got a champion mako3 because I wanted a disc that would fly straight and it looked cool. I still use it and it still flies perfectly straight
I putt with a 15 year old star Rhyno. I also have a Pro Pig and a Zone. With the Rhyno and Pig its less about stability and the fact that I like how they feel in my hand.
The VIP Harp is so good, wont turn over even if I put 400' of power on it and always has that reliable, fall-out-of-the-sky fade at the end. Its gotta be the go-to.
The VIP Harp is pure beef. I was gifted one and I definitely struggle to get 250 feet out of it. Obviously distance isn't what it's for, i should really use these tips more, i tend to try to throw flat and straight at the basket and throwing more hyzers would help my game out.
Hey Robbie, thanks for the video! I think I want to go with the Harp but I was wondering what plastic you would suggest for it? I want to use it mostly for approaches. Im pretty new and mostly throw Innova so any advice is helpful. Thanks!
When throwing on a hyzer line, does the disc stability matter much? I've found that most of the discs in my bag will fly pretty similar on approach shots. Great video, keep'm coming.
Great video as always Robbie! Just curious what your thoughts are on carying 2 different weights of the same mold? I've always been money with my 18yo Champion Rhyno (175g), but recently I've thought about bagging a 171g of the same mold to get a bitt more carry outside 20ft. I took a break for a few years to get decent at ball golf and now that I'm back to disc golfing more, my 45 yo ass is coming up short a little too often on those putts. Thanks man!
Just started playing this year. I went from buying 14 speed drivers a lot of them thinking I’m just going to throw bombs and get them right next to the basket, to where I am now of have two drivers at 7 speed am having a beefed midrange selection. And currently trying to figure out the putting and approach spots. Not sure when to use an putting an approach disc and when to use a midrange. Still working on that as well and trying to figure out an mess with the putting part as well. If anyone can help me out an point me in the right direction I’m all ears 👍
Disc are like fighter jets and piston airplane. Piston airplane have a lot of guide , slow and very stable, and will fly straight for a long time. the jet is very fast and understate, and if it does not have enough speed in a climb, it will stall, and come crashing down, easy target to get shot down. Seen this act of aerodynamics when I was on an aircraft Carrier for four years. Finally made the. Connection after 2 years of trying to throw high speed under stable disc for distance. A top gun jet is a rock with wings, needs major trust and full tank of fuel to make it perform and win the fight, same goes for a Max distance driver needs an arm that can break the sound barrier. For disc golf right now I fly piston aircraft, with long wings carrying me to the basket at subsonic speed. Some day I maybe a jet fighter, if not I will still enjoy the game. Fuse is my disc for now.
I spent 10 years throwing a dx firebird I bought at a gas station, one day one of my friends told me the numbers meant something and handed me a roc. Life changed.
Do you think you could have had the same grouping throwing those approach discs straight and flat? I understand what you're saying but you don't always have the room to swing it out wide with a big hyzer. P.S. I love the Rhyno!
So I have a problem where no matter how stable of a P&A disc I find, I release it on a hyzer angle and it still turns over halfway through it's flight plath. I have a stiff as a brick KC Pro Aviar, still turns over. I have a super stiff innova champion rhyno which I swear turns over even easier then the kc Pro Aviar.. when I first started throwing I did not have this problem, but now it seems like I turn discs over on accident when I don't even feel like I am putting that much torque on it. Any advice?
Absolutely! The hyzer works on both forehands and backhands. The key is keeping the flight plate the wind. So for a right handed player, backhand on a left to right wind and forehand on a right to left!
I use to say the buzzz but recently that has changed.... ITS THE COMET! If you are throwing the comet well, you will be throwing all discs well. And if you are throwing the comet well, you will throw it for most of your round. I have wasted so many years NOT throwing the comet! Just trust me on this one. Yes, it will feel weird but just get over that. Your game will thank you!
Great job brother man. I love your approach to helping beginners. I would love to see an episode on how different plastics allow you to have the same putter mold but get different ground play (and flight due to stability variation between plastics). I bag a R-Pro Rhyno (stick the upshot) and a the more over stable Shimmer Star Rhyno (for skips and other ground play). And I love the Ricky Pro Pig, so versatile (great for flick rollers too). Keep up the great work.
Baobab is where it's at. @agldiscs all day! I use their madrone for my inside circle turbo putts and I use the manzanita otherwise. Their ponderosa is beast understable as well
I have no ill feelings or qualms with Discraft! For me, it's harder to come across Discraft and other manufacturers are more available in my area! Do you throw a lot of Discraft?
Love how you threw the trash panda disc in as well!
Always love repping my friend Jesse!
I love that feeling! Glad the harp is crushing for you!!
Awesome. This also shows the importance of working on putting to widen that circle of comfort. Here you're using a 12 ft perimeter. If one's CoC is 18 feet...that's an extra 12 feet in diameter to work with. Which means a lot more room for error on the upshot (and comeback putts).
Absolutely!! It all starts with putting!!
What a lineup of putters!! Great video man 🤘🏼
Thank You boss! Especially that swirly fully recycled one. Big fan of that one ☺️☺️
Glad someone is saying this. As a beginner, I took a lot of internet advice early on selecting discs, and too often they push for neutral to understable discs. Love the creative intro...and all the humor in you vids...keep em coming!
I totally agree. I bag a Rhyno for this very purpose, as well as a PA-1 in throwing plastic for short holes off the tee. Must haves.
I love the zone, couldn't play without it.
The clash Mint has made my bag this year over-stable and consistent. Easy to throw forehand love this disc!
Getting out to the field and testing approach shots with the variety of discs in my bag has really surprised me. I learned that I don't have a reliable hyzer yet. Also, discs I thought were reliable are less consistent than some I never throw.
Great video as usual!

Well... almost every time ;)
I love the Harp, especially for forehand. For whatever reason it is the best fit for my hand on forehand shots.
You should test out a Stabalizer from Streamline discs some time. I’ve tried the pig, harp, and the caltrop for the OS approach shot but the Stabalizer was the perfect fit for me. Recently took up the sport and love it , thanks so much for all your helpful hints and tips buddy 😀
I can't agree with you more. I also bag a Champion Aviar X3 and that thing is my savior forehand approach shots, backhand approach shots through tight gaps I need to power a little bit, and anything windy. It also feels great in the hand, as you mentioned.
I never bagged any Discraft until I tried a Zone. It feels so good in the hand!
Love to hear that! It’s all about finding the one that works for you!
the Thrasher is an unreal hyzer flip driver, if you're in the market for that. I bag that, a Zone, and both a Buzzz and Buzzz OS.
@@vigilantejusticevid I've since started bagging a PP Buzzz, that's a great disc. Though I still find myself going back to the Roc3.
@@viceroy_raygun can't go wrong with a Roc3 either, I have one but don't bag it.
Love the fact that you used a disc from trash panda! Lol also I love my harp!
I bag the Innova Pig. I had not been playing long, and only had my starter set plus a Beast, when I watched Ricky Wysocki's video playing a whole round with just pigs. Such a great disc!
I bag two myself!! Couldn’t agree more!
I bag the Axiom Soft Envy for these approach shots.
I currently bag 3 zones d,z,and crystal flx. The flx seems to be my most reliable and will probably earn the final spot in the bag. Great videos, love the content.
Awesome vid. I’m throwing a beat up aviar driver and a sol 👌
The Innova Rat and AviarX3 fill this role for me. The Rat is the absolute most-trusted disc in my bag.
Got it. I’m pretty new to disc golf and I only throw mids and putters right now.
The verdict is SO good. Glad to hear it is doing work for you!!
Love the older Clemons lucid x verdict. This year is baaad domey
Didn’t realize we were from the same area! I always see your ig polls but this is the first video I’ve watched.
Glad to know you’re in the bham area!! Let’s go!! Also the polls are Mr. Robby Corns, haha he’s a different RC. What’re the odds right?
Rinox is by far my favorite! Only disc that I've bought a second of
If you like the Pig and Rhyno you should try the Streamline Pilot. It's similar, but has a rounded edge instead of flat. I absolutely love this disc especially for approach shots (it's great for stall putts).
I'll check it out!! I had not tried the pilot!!
Love my 2019 Wysocki pigs. Have five now. The 2020’s weren’t great. But the 2021 is pretty sweet. Very close to the 2019’s
Awesome to see the Trash Panda disc in action!!!
This is super accurate. My go-to is the Viking Discs Loki!
I want to try one of those so bad!!
Beginner here , the putter Wizard in the stupid super soft or whatever haha the SSS blend, is the straightest disc I own. Great headwind putter
Lunas fit that niche for me. Good vid Robbie!
I love my Razor Claw Tactic and I have a Glow C-Line P2 that is super overstable and feels great for upshots! The rim is a little deep for my putting-wise, but it took my upshot game to the next level. It also makes for a great driving putter!
I was just talking with someone else about the Razor Claw today! Love that!!
Love the zone. It super comfortable in the hand. And the aviarx3 ( thanks for that disc.) Great Video 🔥
So glad to hear you’re still liking that AviarX3!!
I originally got a champion mako3 because I wanted a disc that would fly straight and it looked cool. I still use it and it still flies perfectly straight
I feel obligated to mention the Axiom Envy. It's my go to for approach shots. Might be a little less overstable than some of the discs mentioned here.
It is a little less stable, but still a great choice. It’s all about finding your choice!
I putt with a 15 year old star Rhyno. I also have a Pro Pig and a Zone. With the Rhyno and Pig its less about stability and the fact that I like how they feel in my hand.
Loved that intro! and the Vikings shirt. SKOL
SKOL Indeed!!!
Anvil and Envy, Anvil is mostly forehand unless I really need to get around something backhand
The VIP Harp is so good, wont turn over even if I put 400' of power on it and always has that reliable, fall-out-of-the-sky fade at the end. Its gotta be the go-to.
I still dream about my harp and the birdies it gave me sometimes :)
The VIP Harp is pure beef. I was gifted one and I definitely struggle to get 250 feet out of it. Obviously distance isn't what it's for, i should really use these tips more, i tend to try to throw flat and straight at the basket and throwing more hyzers would help my game out.
Birdie Fam here.....I have a Justice and a Harp in my bag. The Justice is money!
Excellent choices!! The Harp was a staple for me for a long time!
Hey Robbie, thanks for the video! I think I want to go with the Harp but I was wondering what plastic you would suggest for it? I want to use it mostly for approaches. Im pretty new and mostly throw Innova so any advice is helpful. Thanks!
I’d recommend it in VIP first, and tournament plastic second!!
When throwing on a hyzer line, does the disc stability matter much? I've found that most of the discs in my bag will fly pretty similar on approach shots. Great video, keep'm coming.

Mvp ion R2
It's my favorite disk period.
👀 those Prodigy Pa-3 are pretty fire!!
I hear that 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
zone but not on windy days, trying to fig. out the putter outside dist - mid range - fairway driver
I bag nothing but Innova. And my P&A is also an AviarX3. Star Proto. Also bag Star Aviar3 and put with a 11X KC Pro Aviar.
Champion rhyno for me! Bagged it since I started 8 years ago.
Zone and pig are my favorites
Huge fan of the Harp!
I have a zone for forehand, but I recently got a maestro that I use for backhand! Plus the maestro stamp is incredible😂
Pig is my favorite
I bag Pigs and Harps for forehand but I will use a KC Pro Aviar for a back hand approach. The pig and harp back hand just don't work well for me.
That’s ok! Have to find the disc that works for your game!
Love the Harp.
Absolutely loved it!
Disc are like fighter jets and piston airplane. Smooth tunes!
honestly, bagging a gator taught me how to really approach. The zone feels very similar, just a bit slower. haha
I come from an ultimate background and I really like the Polecat - its the disc that feels most like an ultimate disc to me (that I've thrown)
Polecat is amazing!! Fantastic disc!!
I spent 10 years throwing a dx firebird I bought at a gas station, one day one of my friends told me the numbers meant something and handed me a roc. Life changed.

Damn, I've been throwing so many flat up shots with my nova. Maybe I need to throw more hyzer up shots with the pig.
So I have a problem where no matter how stable of a P&A disc I find, I release it on a hyzer angle and it still turns over halfway through it's flight plath. I have a stiff as a brick KC Pro Aviar, still turns over. Are you throwing them forehand or backhand?
Honestly I used the innova dart , and a light weight axiom envy as well
Dart is slept on! Fantastic choice!
Love the video. But, would you throw this if you had a crosswind? Either direction?
Absolutely! The hyzer works on both forehands and backhands. The key is keeping the flight plate the wind. So for a right handed player, backhand on a left to right wind and forehand on a right to left!
Axiom Eclipse Envy Putter 3/3/0/2
Dynamic Discs EMAC Truth 5/5/0/2
Axiom Hex 5/5/-1/1
What grip are you using for those into the perimeter shot?
Currently using the ZONE!
I believe the Diamond is a great starter disc. And you can still use it when u get better at the game.
The Latitude 64 Gem line is something I find myself recommending often! Pearl, Ruby, Jade, Diamond, and Sapphire are all amazing!
Prodiscus Jokeri is my disc in this slot
Overstable approach discs are crucial. But beginners should start with a neutral to slightly understable disc to learn good form :-)
THE SLAMMER IS THE JAMMER!!!
R-Pro Rhyno!!
The pig was a game-changer in my bag.
Absolutely in love with it!!
leapard. so versatile
Zone / Baobab are amazing for me. I love the pig, but I just don't need it. Too much overlap.
Are you from bham?! I saw you went to DD iron city!
Sure am!! Inverness is the home course!! You an iron city member too?
I use to say the buzzz but recently that has changed.... ITS THE COMET! If you are throwing the comet well, you will be throwing all discs well. Crystal Flx Get Freaky Zone, lands right by the pin every time!
Let’s go!!!
nice video
Prodigy A3 in 400 plastic is the best
Got my first birdie yesterday without even realizing it.
Yes!!!
I give a river to lots of newer throwers. It glides like crazy.
Shout out to Catan and Super mega Bonus points on Civilization
Harp is the best approach disc ever made
Slammer is killer and the harp
Wish the slammer wasn’t oop!!
@@RobbieCDiscgolf I know. Me too. Working with the harp more now
Great job brother man.
That’s an excellent idea Tim! I’ll put it in the que!
Kastaplast Berg 💯
Amazing choice!!
A Innova factory second caiman
Baobab is where it's at. @agldiscs all day! I use their madrone for my inside circle turbo putts and I use the manzanita otherwise. Their ponderosa is beast understable as well
Had never heard of that brand.
I like your videos but this one the sound is to low have my phone maxed out still hard to hear
How come you have a bias against discraft?
I have no ill feelings or qualms with Discraft! For me, it's harder to come across Discraft and other manufacturers are more available in my area! Do you throw a lot of Discraft?
My go to is hard Tactic
I love the Tactic in hard and soft! Amazing choice!
