ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

I'm not going to lie, Spider-Man never fought Carnage with the symbiote on because there is an episode where Spidey, Venom, Carnage, War Machine were together but probably Hasbro got a mistake from thinking that Peter was wearing the symbiote even though he did got rid of it, Overall, Great review Shartimusprime.
Hasbro didn't make a mistake in misremembering an episode. They said, "what are the two cheapest figures we can make that will still sell for $60?" And this is what they came up with.

Spider-Man did fight with the black suit in shattered dimensions
I was excited to get a carnage figure since I missed out on previous figures, an unpopular opinion of mine is that I love cell shading for the black suit it makes the details pop for me
I got mine just for the nostalgia factor. I'm a sucker for anything spidey. But the vhs boxes are 90s gold to me. I do think they should of been priced at about 39.99 at most.
I really think the accents actually look good on this figure. Cell shading usually sucks on figures, but the blues help the black pop even more.
Blue on the Symbiote suit and the short body on the symbol actually makes it so much more unique and a fun figure true to be a comic tv show animated figure honestly looks really fresh and the packaging damn
I got this 2 pack and I really like it, probably cuz they're my only symbiote spiderman and my only carnage
I'm so happy hasbro is making normal packed boxes. Can't wait for next year. I got red skull and the baf wasn't even there.

Super easy pass for me on this one. When you were doing the side-by-side comparisons, the old Carnage figure and the Retro black suit Spidey figure both looked way better to me. So there would be no point in shelling out the money for worse looking figures.
Wait it's not the same body mold for symbiote?
@@WhatYouSayingBrah Yeah, the body is the same for both of the black suit Spideys, but the added blue highlights on the animated figure detract from the overall look for me. I think the all black of the Retro carded figure looks better. IMO

I just wanted the Carnage figure honesty. Though it is cool seeing the black suit on the RYV body.
Imo I actually think it looks way better in hand. This Spider-Man is one of my new favs.
Carnage is still cool but I can see why people were let down.
But articulation wise they are super cool in person and could spend hours with them if I wanted.
Basically if you think you’ll like it, you will. But if you don’t like them as is, it’s probably not your cup of tea anyway.

Why do people not like the cel shading? Isn’t the point to give it the cartoon look? I say why not. It’s just another variant to throw in the collection. They’re always gonna update the figures mold and articulation overtime.
Surprisingly carnage is what kept me from selling my 2 pack, i just loved this figure and even more surprising; I did'nt actually noticed carnage was on the sunfire body mold and i loved it, I have webman but with carnage it just works. Maybe I will mod mine with some extra black details so it fits a little bit more with king in black venom. 8/10

I like the set for the most part. I wish the spidey was on the AF15 body. I honestly don't care for toe articulation.
My main issue with the figure is, as you pointed out, I don't think Symbiote Spidey fought Carnage in the cartoon. Yet they got the two-pack.
Venom had already been release. Spider-man normal suit......released.
So they combined the two remaining symbiotes.

@@DesignIncase There was already a retro card release for symbiote Spider-Man. This is the second one. It would have made more sense to re-release the Walmart Spider-Man and Hasbro exclusive Venom with minor tweaks as a 2 pack instead of this.

That retro green goblin wasn't animated style btw. That one is supposed to be a comic figure. Funny enough because they just announced an actual animated green goblin today lol

The figures are pretty good! Some of the coloring could have been done better on Spidey and carnage though. A little better at least, but they're still pretty good figures!
I think we see black suit Spider-Man and Venom together in a way I believe Spider-Man is looking at his reflection and then it changes to venom, truth told that could be from a comic and I’m just remembering it from the show but I’m 60% sure

I just got this 2 pack and my carnage seems a little loose? Idk but his right arm on the elbow joint seems to be wobbly like it’s not tight enough (if that makes sense). Is there anything I can do? Should I contact hasbro? Thanks to whoever replies!
I ended up cancelling mine from Pulse. I'm not really an opener anymore and would have preferred these on the retro cards
The main reason I want this figures is that the Symbiote Spiderman now has a toe articulation
I got this one just for the Spiderman. 🧡 the Spiderman. Wanted black suit with toe articulation. The blue could be better. I like the grey.

True story, I ordered 2 Animated Spidey figures from Walmart, they were in shipping limbo for 6 months, contacted Walmart, they cancelled.
My solution: I cancelled Hasbro permanently and now just do Hot Toys and McFarlane. Thanks Walmart and Hasbro.
Great solution right there, same happened for my Spider-Man from Walmart. You get your money’s worth more for sure with McFarlane, mafex is my personal favorite of all though.
@@sammarchetti9143 I used to collect figuarts, Mafex and Hasbro as mentioned, but figuarts and HAsbro's prices are through the roof.
Mafex is probably the best currently, but without legends, it's hard to justify collecting the 6 inch scale.
McFarlane is trash.

I am struggling on what to do here, I think it would be an easy pass for these figures but they do come in the cool VHS box that would look cool as a full collection.
Also I have the intention of collecting the vhs x-men too, I think they all gonna look good together, but these figures in the video loose don’t have much appeal

Depends. Do you want an animated series Symbiote Spider-Man? If so, get this two-pack. You’ll also get Carnage with it as well. If you don’t care to have an animated Symbiote Spider-Man, or Carnage, then go with the retro-carded version.
Is this hood if you never own any marvel legends figure because I’ve never own any plus only figure I wanted out of this I spider man but the retro figure is 55 and I don’t feel like paying two sh figuarts for one
I like the marvel legend looks but I prefer hot toys more because of articulations and accessories

No
I may be remembering it wrong but I think it does fit, the problem is that the head looks bigger because that body has smaller proportions.
Wish we knew more of what they are going to do with the rest of this series. Not that interested in these alone, but kind of a suckered for the VHS packaging. 🙄
I’m only buying it for carnage,I’ve always missed out on carnage figures and I’m not willing to pay the £300+ for the venompool wave version and even more for older versions

Yeah carnage never fought spiderman with the symbiote.. And the blue highlights all with the grey looks.. okay but I would've preferred it similar to the Mafex symbiote spiderman. Still good, I guess?
just take the arms from the shoulders down and the legs from the hips down off this "animated" black suit spider man, paint remove the blue goops and put the new limbs on the retro black suit spidey, then you'll have the updated black suit spider man that shares the renew your vows spidey for who ever is using that as the definitive spider man.
They are ok. I only wish they will release Comics symbiote spidey on the ryv Buck one day

Yeah, it's true, the plastic feels cheaper these days. I got some Across the SV figurs, and they feel kind of low quality

Carnage looks cheap! They didn't do the paint apps right to save money. That's why it looks like that. Less broken lines mean less paint apps.
It’s BS we got a Cassidy head but no PP head but I still enjoy the purchase

Some people might have missed out on those single releases. This is another chance to get them. Plus, they are specific to the 90s animated series. They based on the cartoon. The original ones weren’t. So, no, not useless.

Marvel Legends has the accessories, but in figure designs, overall, McFarlane is giving Hasbro a run for their money. Legends keep leaving me disappointed.

That carnage is awful, the red is wrong, the carnage in the cartoon was more black with crimson highlights. The headsculpt is so bad, it is not right at all. The tendrils also aren't right, he wasn't like that in the show at all

Yeah, that would have made a lot more sense since they actually fight each other in the series. Spider-Man never fought Carnage while wearing the symbiote suit. By then, he had ditched it and it bonded to Eddie Brock.

This whole “cell shading” animated thing, plus many other things they are doing… it just have awful quality.
I personally don’t have an issue with the cell-shading and can’t understand why so many other collectors have such a problem with it.

@@SlasherIncorporated It doesn't look anything like proper cel shading or like it does on the cartoon. It's just some lines. The ML X-Men cartoon figures especially just have random lines on them that don't look like anything
I think cell shading is Hasbro half assed rebuttal to people saying "Marvel legends figures need more paint apps"

I am so freakin TORN about this 2pack. The main reason why would I want to buy this is for carnage. More classic one not the absolute who represents modern. I like almost everything but man such a lack of black paint that really pissed me off even tho he had so much black paint in TAS. and I didn't actually need symbiote spidey another with shading. But actually if there was more blue he could really stand out and that would be cool variant of symbiote spidey but again maaaaan they really have dropped the ball on paintig these guys. Such a shame. I don't mind they were in the same box because it was cool representation of venom fighting with his son but. At the end man paint really pisses me off. I'm curious when they will rerelase these guys again with better painting. Ehhh hasbro you really getting on my nerves.
