Just picked up one of my own, has a decent number of QC issues. Right bicep doesnt securely pop into the delt, (causing the elbow joint to reveal) entire left arm seems to pop off pretty easily, diaphragm pulls apart super easily and the neck joint is stiff as hell. Had to twist the entire joint around with some needle nose pliers Aside from those issues, figure looks and feels incredible. All the accessories, articulation, paint and small details are great
Ok so originally I wasn't going to get this. I got injured had to take a week off from work. Got bored ended up on ebay at midnight and boom I got it for 80 bucks. I'm so glad I got this figure it's the best black Spidey up to this point. If I never get Another one again this would be ok. as I have every black costume Spidey from marvel legends and one from toy biz. But this is the definitive one for me.
I always assume Mafex are a larger scale than Marvel Legends, but I guess that's just the price point. Also, the stop motion this time was exceptionally smooth.
I like the blue feet and I like him better than the Legends version. The ab crunch on Legends breaks up the Spider logo too much. It is much better executed here.
This is my favorite version of Spiderman so I’m so damn happy to have it. Totally worth the money. Got it for $70 on AmiAmi. So I also got it a couple of weeks ago. So great.

Man wish these comic Mafex figures scaled perfectly with Marvel Legends figures. Mafex comic figures are 1/11th.5 scale while Legends are 1/11th scale.
Im not shartimus but I would think a clear varnish or clear drying superglue or modge podge. Someone correct me if u know something better. Good luck bro
I'm liking the blue tint in the photo stills at the end, looks more natural than the cell shading on the VHS Legends. It moves with the figure more naturally than the static cell-shading. Of course, it's more subtle, and not as boldly "animated" looking, so, potato-potahto...
I love mine, got it a few days ago. Sadly my magnet feet and hands on my copy suck and it just slides down whatever it’s stuck to. Otherwise I give it a SUD rating of: AHA ITS SO AWEHASOME!

Rule of thumb for Mafex: if you’re even remotely interested in the figure, preorder it! It’s a lot easier to cancel a preorder later on if you change your mind than it is to find a decent price for a sold out Mafex figure. I’ve seen a lot of people pay like $250+ for some of them and it’s pretty sad

I like this suit a lot but not enough to get the Mafex version when I already have 2 Hasbro versions. But I'm a HUGE scarlet Spider fan and can't wait for the Mafex version to come. If they do a 2099 version, I will get it as well.
Awesome review! That's a pretty nice looking black suit Spidey, but I'm not quite as enamored with Mafex as a lot of other collectors seem to be. I'm a huge Spider-Man fan myself and I had 3 of the 075 classic red & blue figures, but I ended up selling them all off. I actually like the more recent Marvel Legends Spider-Man figures better. They feel more sturdy and they are about 1/4 the price. One of my problems with the Mafex figures is that the ratchetless joints are a little too loose feeling and they tend to pop apart too easily, which is annoying. I also find the hands and feet too small on Spider-Man, and where the feet meet the ankles it has that overlap that makes it look like he's wearing pants with shoes instead of a one peice costume. I know that Mafex figures come with more accessories than Legends, but not enough to make them worth $100, IMO. Maybe if they were more in the $50 price range I'd feel differently. But even then I'd still prefer the Legends Retro black suit Spidey over the Mafex. But that's just my personal preference.
It's great, but I hope we will get seamless body Spiderman action figures like tbleague type in 1:12 or 1:10 scale. Either the silicone could be painted or tattooed with the Spiderman costume or have the body in a spandex material
Favorite part of the review is when you point to the uneven paint on the spider emblem and talk about how "clean" it is 🤣 Nevermind the fact that every other reviewer has talked about how sloppy the paint 🙄
It's a misnomer that the Mafex First Appearance Venom is too short. It's actually close to true scale. The Mafex Spider-Man is actually the one that's too tall. Peter Parker Spider-Man is 5'10. So the figure should have been a little under 6", or close to an average SHF figure. Ironically, the KO Mafex Spider-Man got the scaling right. For this figure, my only complaint is the blue sole. It should be black. The only reason why it's colored that way in the comics is because of the limit of the printing technology back then. They made it blue so that readers can see the feet when he was drawn swinging. Otherwise, it's just going to be a black mess. They've always used blue as a highlight to details on black figures / items back in the day. It was only during the mid-90s when printing technology was good enough that such compromises were no longer needed.
The feet seemed rather loose and, now that I look at it again, the hands are too small. One hundred dollars for this little piece of plastic and they call me crazy for funding the ghost rider car.
@@tonystupps7499 The feet aren’t loose, if you push the joint too far down the foot gets pushed on by the ankle and comes off, like it’s supposed to so you can swap them for the magnetic ones. And the hands are properly sized, we’re just too accustomed to Marvel Legends’ oversized feet and hands.
The diaphragm joint separated as well. Shartimus prime even says things will pop off. I think for that much money they shouldn't. It's all subjective anyway.

Word of advice for figure parts store em in a shoe box or some type of small box easier to keep track of everything that way
