Oh yeah! Stoneheart is amazing for buffing Dwarves. You take an already tough unit and make it even harder to kill. Then the longer they endure, the more they whittle down their enemies, and the weaker their enemies get, the harder the Dwarves are to kill. Its a vicious cycle!
“Barakhan! Barakh-dhiv-ha!” “These words play through my mind, even as we regroup at camp.. ‘Mountain! Shields of the Dwarves!’ I cannot stop thinking about how I threw down my hammer and ran for the hills.. My comrades, too..” “But, I’m a blacksmith, a colonist.. The others miners, sawyers and merchants… How did they expect us to hold against those abominations?” “My Pa answered our Thane Forgrin’s muster when then-Prince Baridoc first marched against the Orcs.. He lies in the crypts with my Ancestors now.. Have I dishonored him? Dishonored my Clan and Kin?” “Thane Goldenrok ensures us a full pardon, that he understands our fears and our plights.. If you ask me, he just needs the Dwarfs.. We took many casualties in that fight.. Maybe we’re the replacements..” “Maybe I *should* be.. They need soldiers. There’s extra shields, fallen from our Kin. Maybe I should grab one, and a sword too.. Maybe I should be the soldier they need.. The soldier my Pa was..” “I’ll need to think on it overnight.. They say the King himself is coming with reinforcements..” “Maybe then I’ll swear on an Oathmark.” -Journal entry of Kagrenar Thoreksson, a blacksmith’s apprentice brought from Southpass to Westslope
Humans when facing the undead: "Oh, the horror! We can't stand against them! Run for your lives!" Dwarves when facing the undead: "Och, restless corpses again? A'ight lads, grab ye bone-smashing hammers! We're in fer a long day..." Given the continued poor performance of the wolves, I'm starting to wonder if Moxis simply likes wolves and always wants to include them in his army despite experience demonstrating he should do otherwise. They're the only joy he has in life, despite the constant disappointment. For a moment, I thought that Autocratix was the animated body of the Crimson Dawn archmage from game 2.5. Nothing saying he isn't with a name change! Waste not, want not, eh?
😄 All in a days work for the Dwarves, hard as nails! Yeah, the wolves have the potential to hit hard and fast but they never seem to quite pull it off. They have one redeeming quality however, they are very cheap! And Moxis likes them 😆 Autocratix is a Revenant Necromancer (Lich) who was unearthed with the other Revenants. My headcanon is that if you raise thinking undead like a Lich or a Champion, they retain a sense of self, so it's probably prudent not to raise the archmage you just killed as a Lich! A mindless skeleton, sure, but a Lich is asking for trouble.
I'm loving this, the Dwarves won most of their missions, the Elves lost most of their missions and the undead win some, lose some. Please, where did you get those Ghoul miniatures?
Cheers Grim! I was really happy with how close this game ended up. It looked like it was in the bag before a couple of lucky/unlucky rolls shifted the tide! The Ghouls are from Mantic Games (www.manticgames.com/games/kings-of-war/undead/undead-ghoul-regiment/ ) with a few bits from the Frostgrave Cultist frame thrown in for variety.
I prefer the look of miniatures on round bases and like to use them for other, primarily skirmish games so I put everything on rounds. Line of sight and movement in Oathmark requires square bases so you can use the corners to measure or wheel from. The little square trays are my compromise!
Late to the party in watching these but as I follow this campaign it seems to me the wolves are just not worth the points. If they aren't failing to activate they are getting shot to pieces or stomped in combat (even after charging the rear!). Great series so far!
Yeah... If the dice played the game they would fare a lot better, but they have definitely proven to be a unit that you can't rely on. They always seem to fail at the worst opportunity :D I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the series!
Man, I've really been enjoying the Undead these past few videos. I'm actually kind of rooting for the necromancer at this point. *sees him fighting Dwarfs* ...I am no longer rooting for the necromancer...

Great writing and editing and great-looking models. Love all the background noise effects and exclamations!
Cheers Mike! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Nice to see a continuation of the campaign 👍
The Dwarves did well and I'm looking forward to seeing the next clash between them and the Necromancer
Cheers Oliver! It was looking rough for them at a few points, but they sure do endure!
@@AshandStoneNZ Aye Indeed, but with high defence from the spell they could endure and whittle down them skellies

Cool.
Wraccas's Beard! That is awesome. I love it so much.
"Alone... but worst of all - in the woods...."
At least the trees aren't speaking...... yet.....
Great narrative and great game, congrats.
Cheers Vitor! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah, it happens from time to time but as you say, it just takes a little inspiration to get the creative juices fired up again!

@@AshandStoneNZ Thank you.
No worries!
Why are the single miniatures on round bases in a square base tray?
I prefer the look of miniatures on round bases and like to use them for other, primarily skirmish games so I put everything on rounds. Line of sight and movement in Oathmark requires square bases so you can use the corners to measure or wheel from. The little square trays are my compromise!
@@AshandStoneNZ Thanks for the clarification - I wondered if there was a reason (in game) for the round bases, but that makes sense. :)

Well, you've got to have your priorities in order!
I wanna see dwarves vs elves!
It's happened a couple of times in the past, no doubt it'll happen again!
Early story :)
