Compared to the ships I had to crew when I was in during Vietnam this thing looks like you're staying at the Ritz-Carlton hotel. GO NAVY! I am glad for the crew that they have such great facilities because when things get a little dicey at sea this will be one hell of a morale booster.
Must be awesome being the female crew, who ship full of sailors to go around with.
no such thing as glax or boost or not, feel any perfx nmw
Hey man I've got a question, what happens if one of the sailors fall off the edge of a big ass ship like an aircraft carrier? I just wonder because those things are so big I'd be worried that nobody would see me fall into the water. Does that type of stuff happen every once in a while or is it pretty rare or what?
@@mjames7674 their are docs about it, they wear glow sticks at night and they generally always have look outs. If someone seen in water they send out a copper.
@@mjames7674 Other than jumpers, people usually don't fall overboard. There is an aft lookout(or on ships with the flight deck aft, flight deck personnel during flight ops) to watch for oscars.
However, if you fall overboard there is a very good chance you will never be recovered unless they drop a boat very quickly to pick you up. Big ocean, and your life expectancy is about 10-30 minutes depending on water temperature.
Floor plan was downright spacious and luxurious compared to the old destroyers.
After viewing some old video from the naval archives, these new ships are far superior for the crew. Those old tubs left no space for the men to live and/or work.
That destroyer looks like EMP protected.
what are the fighting capabilities of this ship.As a former Navy man (LSD 13) I wonder is this a fighting ship or a cruise liner.Everything shown seems to be in slow motion.
@@AAhmou It should, there's a lot of metal in the construction.
@@AAhmou its a stealth destroyer.
It's a shame that CVN-65 is no longer in service. If the Zumwalt was performing an ecort mission for her, its captain would have a legitimate reason to call on the radio "Captain Kirk to Enterprise."
USS Enterprise CVN-80. In a couple of years she will be commissioned. 😀
$4- or $5,000,000,000 per ship, and all to defend desperate people working a gig economy.
If the Zumwalt is no longer commissioned then it's due to bad seamanship poor captaining Andover dependency on technology. I believe with the right crew and a true naval officer who was put in charge do the skill are not politics this ship would function fine. But this is a peacetime Navy and what I've seen of other new Ships coming online and the reviews I've seen it's definitely politics over skill. I've seen new high speed boats with three and four officers. On bored when it should have been a single Junior grade or chief and skilled Petty officers. I was in the Navy during Vietnam and have seen these politically appointed officers they were weeded out pretty quick or crippled or dead pretty quick due to their incompetency although some did seem to get through. But they usually got a metal real quick due to their political or money connections and got out and went to Hollywood to sleep with celebrities and protest the war leaving others to take their place and bleed for them.
its coming back
@@BillSmith-ut5li See the '50s picture "Attack" where a key character is an incompetent, politically-appointed army officer who gets bumped-off by the men of his unit.
Those doors sound like they could use some WD-40.

Watching this and I'm seeing a lot of changes since I was in the Navy. I boarded my first ship in 1987 and we never had some of these things you see on this ship.
must have been rough since this ship doesnt look particularly comfortable
Has the look of one of those Civil War Ironclads (Monitor and the Merrimack), but of course 1000 times more deadly!
V
"1000 " I see what you did there.
...and a million times more expensive.
That's exactly what I was thinking too! But just a wee-little bit more technology!
Yeah looks like one of the Southern ironclads.
Just watching this video made me grin, remembering my time in the Navy.
Bath built is best built. Thank you to everyone that built this amazing ship in Bath Maine
Damn, when a navy serves better food than your locales ....
LKVideos LMAO! Very true! 👍👍👍
One perk for defending the country 🇺🇸
You call this good food ? Holly shit, american army have the worst food ever like the country
Thejoker Demon Yeah no shit the army has shit food
Lol better than McDonald’s the MREs have improved quite a lot if you ask me

Glad that Warship is on my side
The Zumwalt is a BEAST! - From a Destroyer Vet.
Is it just me, but do these new ships look more like an old ironclad?
The C.S.S. "Virginia" (1862), built from the salvaged remains of the U.S.S. "Merrimack" (sic), had sloping armoured sides reminiscent of the "Zumwalt". The "Virginia" only lasted a few months.
Kind of Sort of LOLOLOLHAHA
@@robertmetzger1753 idk what’s funny brah
It's just you. 🤔
Yea but rather than armor for protection it has stealth tech so it can't be seen in the first place or rather by the time you figure out it's not a small boat you'd be dead
this is actually impressive
It's like a bunker so strong when you see it up close. PERFECT 👌 and
Five star hotel inside the ship .⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is showing on my feed 3yrs later!! But I believe that a friend of mine from the USS Boxer LHD4 is or was Command Master Chief on this beast 💪🇺🇸! Go Navy!
The ship is at the Bath Iron Works on the Kennebec River in Maine. BIW is one of the Navy's premiere ship builders. During the Second World War it built 25% of the destroyers in the Navy; at one point sending a newly built, fully armed and crewed ship down the Kennebec directly to war every two weeks.
General Dynamics, yes thank you
D19 E02 Electrician✅
This is the ship from the future. more please
Is it a warship? Operationally deployed?
Floating testbed is actually what it is, correct. Supposed to be the first in a line of ships, yet only two have been made and they are configured completely different.
Warship seems to be really pushing it when referring to this ship and its sister ship. Correct me if I'm wrong.
we’ve I actually made three . And that will be all
you’re wrong. Zumwalt, Monsoor, Lyndon Johnson
@@Roberta_Esposito Yes, I see. Three built, two commissioned, one accepted. Not very good considering initial funding was granted like sixteen years ago.
@@Roberta_Esposito Three built, two commissioned, one accepted. Define wrong? LMFAO!
Such a lucky guy to sail with the most modern and badass looking destroyer, you rock bro
it's good to have a soft run of today's modern technology. Good job.
The Navy gave you one hell of a nice ship with a lot of luxury extras for a destroyer. Hope you appreciate her. She is one dam fine lady, and worthy of your best. Do her proud and she will always bring you home. Thanks for your service.
Yes, thanks for helping to invade countries all over the world! :)
Great great video, showing this new type Navy ship in service.
3 and Done , Unfortunately
Elmo "Bud" Zumwalt, Jr and I served together. He was the CNO and I was an OSSN.
I was in the Marine Corps during this time, that's when Adm Zumwalt let you sailor boys grow your hair longer and sideburns longer, damn sailors.....can you say jealous .....
@@marinegrunt6633 The commands I served in weren't as lenient as the Z Gram allowed. If you wanted to pass inspection you kept it "High and Tight".
Apparently, Admiral Zumwalt was a victim of the asbestos lagging used below decks on so many Navy vessels: he died at 78 of mesothelioma. His son was almost certainly killed at 42 by exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam.
My Dad also served with Zumwalt...he reminded me of Mr Howe on Gilligans Island. Zumwalt and his wife, Trudy came to our house in San Diego for a cocktail party. After a few too many gin and tonics, and quite a few warnings to not blow in our dogs face; our dog bit Zumwalt’s nose and drew blood!!! We all remember Zumwalt’s nose!!!! My dad was CDR Robert Aiello....I was 12 years old!! This was around 1976.....would love to hear from you navy guys!!
Um, Is this boat available for rental??
Wouldnt surprise me if it is possible in some way or the other... I found a official website where you can rent USAF aircraft for airshows... So I dont see why its not possible, you would just need a lot of money and know the right people...
Yes it is. Think of any movie that features active duty hardware (Top Gun for example). For a price you can have it too.
FramedPower no dumbass because of inflation it is 83 million a second

I still think there’s nothing like the old WWII Destroyer Cruisers and Battleships.. Just seeing the big guns gives you Chills and the sound they made the sound of freedom 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
If i spent all that money on a boat like this.. them new doors wouldn't be so effin rickety.... "i gah-raun-teee"

I think theyre design like that moron.
First of all it's not a boat.
Go back to your sunfish.
End of story.
Can you get on deck? It feels like a big sub. All life is indoors?
Mostly. Part of the routine regarding stealth. Lifelines are secured underway.
I love the way the USS Zumwalt look it make you want to reenlist (Star Trek) Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! A lot of the features on this ship we didn't have on previous ships I've served aboard in my Navy career. Are future, up coming ships will have some of these features? But, I do criticize minimal manning in certain times.
it’s capable of a bunch of things I can’t even tell you ⚡️⚡️⚡️ S6 Elec.
Do they ever really get to go outside/topside whatever its called on a zumwalt? seems like they're mostly locked in unless on helo or small boat duty
Why have sailors wear camouflage? Is it to ensure they will never be found if they fall overboard? Or is it in case the ship is boarded, so they can blend in with the floor and retake the ship by way of crawling from room to room and shooting the boarders?
Such an awesome ship, god bless our sailors and our amazing US Navy
Even God cannot safe it from my 7yo when he called Avengers assemble manning his gatling laser cannon defeating Captain James Kirk though.
The Avengers still have better stealth. ;-)
Its literally a boat with missile, it was a failure and a complete waste of tax money
i dont think god blesses machines of war
@@an-cx1ho Of course not, but engineering marvels is a different story.
@@stacked-racing You just described 99% of warships, I'm guessing you don't know much about what a navy even is lmao
Very nice to see latest military equipment.
Why arent this clasified as cruisers? they are bigger than Ticos ..and seem more oriented to ground attack than other ships (hunting other ships is what defines the concept of destroyer)
for all who serve God speed and thank you for your service as well.
This is the type of ship I expected to see in the 21st century!
Coming from the "Old Navy", looking at this craft I just want to yell "DIVE! DIVE!" heh heh
Wow she is a beautiful site so silent moving but PROUD
WOW GREAT JOB BUILDING HER. I GOTTA SEE THIS IN PERSON
Overpriced and underperforming, aft doors need greased. Have they figured out what to do with it?
I've never seen so many deployment 10's in one command in all my years in the Navy. Makes me wanna re-up...
Nice touch with the "Barber poll". :-)
I should had just join the U.S Navy instead of the U.S Army!..damn Squids got some spiffy gear!
Regrets? Why?
Just remember, that 70% of those people are on their knees scrubbing the floor & head. - How do you think there is no dirt on the floors and areas so spotless.
many young people cried for months while bleeding their knuckles out scrubbing the entire ship. So be glad youre in the army.
You may see deployment in the army. Even a few tours of duty.
You are away for months at a time with navy. Possibly away from your wife and children.
Navy is tougher in different ways.
Squids are submariners not surface
I was a Seabee. Army has the best stuff.
Is this ship leave port. Or go to high seas...?

That ship is designed to combined with the queen Elizabeth carrier class and transform into a decepticon robot. Like Tidal Wave😀
My favorite naval vessel. Sure would love to work on it someday. What can I say, the Navy is one of the best branches in the military because of my uncle linder
#Forgedbythesea
meaning if they take a hit by plane or shell does half the ship not work because the electronics go down, or do they have manual override...
Even better. Just the metal technology has come light years since then. And that's just the metal. There's classified engineering in survivability that you and I will never see or know about. They build models and test quite thoroughly before spending that kind of money on a hunch lol!
I'm sorry, but as USN HM ret and one that's taken the USCG Power Squadron course, I don't see this as a comfortable ride. Perhaps a majority of it is a deep hull?
One image sort of says it all for me... An old-fashioned actually-rotating barber pole! Not just a painted sign which could be lit up by a floodlight, which would make more sense in conserving energy. But this ship needs not to conserve; it has energy to spare! Wow!
Interesting design!! Modern and brutal, like contemporary art. It`s like an Andy Warhol of warships.
Dima Balan it's to keep the radar signature down...apparently this ship has the same size radar blip as a small fishing vessel
Yeah its a stealth destroyer
Looks like you can't go outside or on deck -- since there isn't really one. More like a spacious submarine, am I wrong? Someone please explain.
TSG most of the operation takes place inside I’m assuming so that’s why there’s barely any space on deck. It could be like how our newest generation fighter planes are designed, the whole goal is to destroy your enemy before they can even comprehend that they are being targeted with how much tech is on it.
The 2 most powerful destroyers in the world, USS Zumwalt(US) and Type 055(CN) are both so impressive and beautiful.
I prefer the sleek design of the Zumwalt though. :D
Its a atealth ship its going to have a sleek design
@@macrebel8068 her bow piece of uss zumwalt is look like a nose of a human
zumwalt is useless whats so powerful about it
I don’t care how fancy this ship is, the idea of being out in the middle of ocean is too much for this soldier. More power to you squids
The Zumwalt destroyer is nothing more than a waste of floating metal for the Navy.
Everything that is new is well forgotten old. This warship has an unusual futuristic design like the first armored ships of the Monitor and Merrimack.
History Brief: The Battle of the Monitor and Merrimack.
In the first battle of ironclad warships, the Confederate Virginia (the rechristened frigate Merrimack, said to resemble “a floating barn roof”) clashed with the smaller Union Monitor.
That's really spacious compared to other navy ships.
well it’s 90 feet longer 20 feet wider and holds half the crew of a regular DDG
Captain Zumwalt was the Captain of USS Dewey, DLG 14 while we were on the Cuban Missile Crises. Scary time.
God bless ‘em... all of the crew members
show more footage of the outside appearance of the ship, this is what makes unique, the inside is like any normal modern warship.
you guys are getting a great experience and we are proud of you one Mean looking ship Merry Christmas !!!!!
The draft markings on the bow makes me think this boat can carry a heavy armament and may be able to increase the boat's draft when needed?
Looks like a pain to maintain... if the hydraulics fail... this ship is going to have a hard time... close range self defense is a weakness with those creaking hatches that takes ages to open
Does it have photon torpedoes and warp drive?
Fletcher Class now that is a Destroyer I don't know what that thing is!!!!
An Earth Republic starcruiser.
I served on DD-966 USS Hewitt. I think I would choose that old Spruance class over this.
i was thinking to myself like "in like 30 years a ship wont need its boatswains mates to tie the ship up, its all gonna happen below decks" and now i see that it litterally is doing just that
What always amazed me was the size of the bridge. I spend month and months aboard the “Serpentina” tanker moored off of Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria.
did you at least go native ?
@@an-cx1ho : Oddly enough I actually did while on the beach. Having said that, going native in Nigeria means wearing a Rolex instead of a Diesel watch. Africa is not a backwards headhunter society. It's full of highly trained personnel who value education and hard work. This holds true in Equatorial Guinea as well. I've also worked in Angola, Chad, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, and Morocco. I had a lot of fun working in Africa. I also worked all over the Middle East. throw in Papua New Guinea, Australia, and Canada. I have literally worked all of the planet but for Central America and South America. To date, everyone I have meet owned a nice house, car, satellite TV, checking accounts, nice close, God loving individuals who also value family. Each one would give their shirt off their back if you asked for it.
@@jroar123 Perhaps your work connected you with this kind of people because if it was universal truth there would be no crime and these countries would be rich. I had a professor from equatorial guinea and his opinion of his own country was completely opposite, he painted is as a backwards tribal crime ridden poor hellhole. But of course there must be enclaves for the elite. I knew a guy who also worked all around the world, deep in 3rd world with no access to anything and he was joking it was so bad that he looked forward to eating some lizard in the evening. He might have made some money and traveled all around the world but some things suffer like missing out on family thing. Are you satisfied with your lifestyle ?

What would happen to all. Of this. Technology if this ship suffered severe battle damage? Is the crew large enough to both continue to fight a battle and also do damage control at the same time? What happens if they suffer a major engineering casualty and lose all electrical power? How can this ship escape the battlefield make repairs and either return to port for more extensive repairs or return to the battle? These are serious questions. As a old 1200 psi steam plant BT I know my ship could at least steam away if we lost electric power as all of our major pumps in engineering were steam driven such as fuel and lube oil, Fire pumps, Main circulating and condensate, Feed pumps, Forced draft blowers all steam driven and did not require electricity to run. We lost the entire electrical load forward of the mess decks on my first ship USS Dale CG-19 and we never slowed down steaming the forward plant with only battle lanterns and no ventilation in the pit it got hot as hell, But we were still doing 15 knots and answering all bells. This ship cannot possibly do this. It blows a fuse and its game over.
Didn't the Zumwalt develop a bad leak around the prop shaft during sea trials and they fixed it with Flex Seal?
DesertDigger1 Flex seal good for 50 years.
Does it have a bow anchor?

Say hello to the future of whoopass!
TheSpaceshuttle7 as long as no freighter ships are in close distance then maybe.
Except there's no ammo for the guns..
Those two cannons up front also known as the AGS have no ammo to fire because the Navy shit canned the program because each projectile cost 1,000,000. And they can't fire anything else out of those guns. So now it's just a giant missile boat just like an Arleigh Burke but a whole lot more money.

The Zumwalt looks like the hull is upside down and then the deck is added later. But if that makes it a better fighting ship, great!
im a huge movie buff and i play a lot of games and most of the time a emp knocks out electronics and this ship being advanced and all does it have any counter measures against emp
All US Military hardware has been EMP hardened since the 1980's. That's one of the reasons new weapon systems are so expensive now.
